Thanks a lot!! just put new blades in, not adjusted correctly, was cutting very hard, slow, lots of smoke!. adjusted blades- works beautifully! Huge thank you.
Awesome! I’ve been struggling trying to hold the original jig in place with the blade on the top of the little springs and then tightening the holder plate bolts. No room so those magnets will work a treat! I hope!
Did this work for you when you tried it afterwards? I have the exact same planer and just picked up some mini planer pals today. I reversed the blades and have tried twice and both times the planer is eating up huge amounts of wood. I wondered if maybe these weren't compatible with this planer cutterhead diameter or blade depth.
More than likely it's the grind angle on the blades and depending on what wood your planning different angles will yield better results there's a whole lot that goes into it

Honestly I gave up and bought a new planer. Saved up for the bigger DeWalt DW735. Worth it.
