    My husband and I eat different nightly. I've been following my doctors plan for me, and I've lost 46 pounds so far in 11 months. Had I not stopped and went back to old habits, I'd be further along. I need to lose quite a bit more, (65lbs) but now I'm just taking things one day at a time. ❤

    Thank you so much for this! I have a wallpaper in my phone that is a beautiful, fit woman chiseling her fat self away. It looks like a statue in progress, and it inspires me every time I see it. Carla, your video about "the middle" of weight loss has been my go-to when I get overwhelmed about how far I still have to go. ❤❤❤

    I appreciate you talking about not passing on weight issues to your kids. I've struggled with weight my whole life, and it was definitely my mum and her constant dieting that helped give me food and weight issues, and in turn it was her mum (a swimsuit model in the 1920s!) that did it to her. I'm meticulous about not talking about weight loss around my kid, and maintaining neutrality toward food and weight and bodies. But he gets it from the kids at school, so we just have to talk it through and I try to help him think positively about food without attaching food to reward, etc., or restricting. He's always been a healthy weight and is good about listening to his hunger, so I just hope he stays that way.
    Mindset is so huge. And to the person who asked about finding the strength to do yet another weight loss journey after so many, all I have to say is that I was there a few months ago. And then one of my best friends died after a long battle with cancer, and I decided that enough was enough, and I was going to do things differently this time. You can't keep trying the same thing again and again and expect the same result, so I looked at the roots of why I had failed. And almost every time, it was me trying to do things unrealistically, and being too harsh and myopic about short term hiccups. So I mapped out what my weight loss would look like, literally writing out the dates and a reasonable average weekly goal, set some rules for myself (to show up for myself and to be kind to myself are the top two), and that has so far kept me consistent. I'm down over 15 lbs now (I have 115+ left to go, it's currently hard to imagine losing more than that, though that will put me at the upper end of what's healthy for my body) and I can actually see this working. When the scale pauses for a week, I remind myself that bodies are weird, that I might be improving in other ways in the meantime, and I give myself some grace that I haven't ever really given myself before. Because I'm worth it. When you decide to really stick up for yourself in the face of your inner bully and judge, it makes a big difference. And for me, I had to find the tools that made sense to my brain in those moments. For me that was a spreadsheet, but for others it might look different. So I would say to that person: you are worth being kind to yourself, and showing up for yourself. Whatever that looks like, whatever size you are. You are absolutely worth it.

    Hi Ladies, I missed this video when it came out, but I’m super happy to have caught up with you both! Sound advise and sisterly love and affection, perfect combination 👯‍♀️ ❤❤❤
    Adrianna, I found myself asking my taxi driver how old I was the other day, it was the first time I’d ever met him! Admittedly we did laugh an awful lot on such a short journey! 😂😂😂
    Take care both of you and I would definitely love episode 3, and my question would be “how did you both find your new clothing style now you are in much smaller sizes”?
    I’m finding that my body shape is vastly different than it was for the last 45 years as I had a rather large bottom and super wide hips but now to my surprise, they are much smaller and clothes that would’ve been flattering are not so much now!
    Laura ❤❤❤

    Hi, ladies :) Thanks so much for making this video! I wanted to share something that I feel has been helping me with reducing cortisol levels. Mine have been off-the-charts, lately, partly due to a situation with my neighbors and partly due to perimenopause...and possibly from High Intensity Interval Training, as well. I was really anxious, my blood pressure was also very high, and I wasn't losing weight. I went looking for something to help with that and found a reishi mushroom powder that has been amazing! I definitely notice a difference between when I take that, regularly, and when I don't. It has all kinds of other beneficial health properties, as well. Just thought I'd toss that in there. Of course, I'm not dealing with a child that is dying, either, and I can't imagine how that feels. But, there are things that can ameliorate high cortisol levels, as a part of good self-care. Also, walking and other forms of light cardio can help with cortisol levels. Blessings!

    Carla, I would appreciate your thoughts. By the way, both you & Adrianna are so inspirational ❤ I'm the type that goes 'all in' verging on perfectionism, which has never served me. I can commit to the program with the exception of walking an hour. I have serious knee issues. In short, I can only walk 10-20min a day and not every day at that. I can't even stand to have a conversation for any length of time. This situation is being investigated, surgery on both knees is imminent and the specialist will come up with a management plan when he gets the results of my recent MRI's which will be in the next 10wk program. Probably injectable via PRP but that will also put me out of action ... Would you do the program knowing you can only do 80%? I keep hearing Adrianna say that we only have a period of time in our 'weightloss career' so I keep thinking if not now, then when?

    • @HalfofCarla
      @HalfofCarla  2 месяца назад +1

      Oh it would 1000% be worth doing it! Exercise is only 20% of weight loss and if you can’t do more than 10 mins, then do the 10 mins. You might (and I am no doc and of course adhere to your medical professional’s advice) but the walking might become easier with weight loss xx

    • @DNELLEB
      @DNELLEB 2 месяца назад +1

      To add on to what Carla said (not that you asked 🤣 but I study fitness / sport and about to become a personal trainer, so my input may be of interest or not 🤷‍♀️),
      It is definitely worth it - remember that working at 80% now is better than doing 0% and hoping that you may eventually be able to work at “100%” in the future, we don’t know what the future holds - if 80% right now is the best you can do now THAT IS YOUR 100% ! It is better to do something than nothing because “if nothing changes, nothing changes/if you do nothing, nothing happens”
      If you struggle with the walking (I’m not sure what your exercise regimen looks like) but you could implement exercise that’s less stressful on your joints like swimming or aqua fit, even if this only starts off as swimming one length, and then gradually you build up your capacity 🤍

      Thank you @HalfofCarla 🥰 I appreciate you getting back to me. Since posting my question, I absorbed myself into the Bodyslims website, testimonials, and your Q&A's with Ger and your sister and that's what I concluded too. I'm starting 24th and excited ... I WILL give 100% to the 80% of the program but in saying that I WILL give 100% to the remaining 20% (exercise portion) knowing it will be my best!

    • @annan3904

    I feel this may be too personal but I'm a curious cat... I'm curious if your sister has done cosmetic work like fillers, botox, etc. I'm older and I don't see myself affording or getting them even if I could. But I may be persuaded into some basic work if it truly helped. She looks fantastic at 54! I want that.😊 She doesn't look like she's had work done; just lucky and natural. Thus my curiosity. I'm afraid losing weight will age my face a LOT now that I'm almost 46. Please ignore this question if she's not comfortable talking about it. You guys have given me hope and I love these talks. ❤
