Frank Clegg's quality is world class. I have been in the luxury business for over 20 years and Frank's products are easily en par and in a number of cases superior to well know European makers.
I'm not poor but I'm not excessively wealthy either. I have a wallet and a backpack/weekender from him and both are some of the best things I have ever owned. I have probably 10-15 different variations of Filson bags as well.
I bought a Frank Clegg briefcase last year, and it’s phenomenal. I use it every day so it’s just starting to develop that nice patina. For me, it’s the perfect match between American and European styling. Sometimes American designs can be a little clunky, but then European designers such as Berlutti can be a little too fashion oriented and not as practical. I think Frank Clegg gets the mix between style and function absolutely perfect. They’re expensive products, but they’re fantastic value. I’m planning on adding a signature duffle next year.
As a recent subscriber to your channel, I have started watching all your earlier uploads to fill the void as I wait for new content. The contrast from earlier production values and your current stuff has improved dramatically. Your style advice and product reviews from a working mans perspective really resonate with me. Congratulations on your channel.
Thank you so much. As you’d expect, the more I learn about video production the better these videos turn out. It’s been a constant learning process and I’ve really enjoyed honing my skills. I sincerely appreciate the comment, it’s because of people like you that I keep making content. Thank you.
I have had my Frank Clegg bag for over one year now and it is starting to build a beautiful patina! I ended up a few months back buying my dad a Frank Clegg wallet and it is stunning! The quality is world class but you already know that. Also, Frank is a great guy who really cares about his customers as well. Once again great video!
Thanks! It’s so great hearing the history behind brands like his, especially over 40 years! Do you see how his demeanor changed as he was describing the inspiration for each bag type? He clearly loves what he does.
Really great company. I've known about them for quite some time. One of them products that you buy once and never buy again, so long you condition and care for it :)
Love how meticulous he is during the design of his bags. Some things he said really stuck out (paraphrasing here): -zippers are tough around the corners so he made it so that you can just pull Straight for the duffle -if you make the best quality possible, there will always be a customer
Just purchased my first bag from Frank Clegg, the Signature Duffle Bag in Chocolate Chevre. Ton of money, however ZERO regrets! Was looking at Louis Vutton, though their quality is minimal compared to this beauty. Very grateful to own this work of art from a true American craftsman.
Loved watching this video. I bought a Frank Clegg briefcase at the beginning of this year, and I have not regretted it. In fact, I now find it a necessity to take with me when I go places. You really can see the workmanship that goes into these products.
Great video. In September I got the signature travel duffle and it’s an amazing weekender bag / a little heavy because of the thick leather but the quality is spot on. I personally went with this company because I wanted something unique and handmade and being a part of a family business myself I also wanted to support these companies. If we the customers don’t - these companies are not going to be around much longer. So today I prefer to find quality products from small companies who still focus on the best quality and that’s what Frank Clegg does. The only thing I miss in their product line is a Garment bag in the same leather so I can carry a suit and some dress shirts on short trips.... -:)
Well said! The signature duffel is one of my favorites too, and I love the story Frank tells about how it began as log carrier. A garment bag would be amazing with their attention to detail and quality level, count me in!
Absolutely love this inside look to shops like this. If I could start my career over it would be something like this or bespoke shoe making. So mesmorizing
I’m still waiting patiently on that moc toe boot review from brands like redwing, Wolverine, thorogood, etc. Ps: Thursday boots added the diplomat, which is their take on the moc toe. And it looks exactly like red wing’s but it’s half the price
Great video an great company spirit! I was wondering if you could make a video compairing Clegg to the likes of Carl Friedrik and ThisIsGround? I see strengths in the different brands and could use another view on the three.
Another great video Carl. I was not familiar with Frank Clegg, however; I enjoyed learning about this fine craftsman. I am not clear if the two other gentlemen in the video are Frank’s sons or merely new investors/owners in the business. Can you clarify. Also, were you present during the production of the video? If so, it would be nice to have you moderate the discussion. Just a thought. Thanks again for putting together this interesting video. Keep up the good work!
You can tell this man isn't gona create or let a substandard product leave his factory . This man is old school where he wants his customers to always be happy with the product because of old school quality where no corners are cut ...Ever !
Ian appears to be very uncomfortable, particularly at the 'everyone touches our bags' part. I don't think he's very interested in talking about leather! I love Andrew's enthusiasm though
What do you think of Frank Clegg Leatherworks? Let me know in the comments!
nice quality, it is a must

Just found your channel, this interview was great and informative. I now know another great brand to try.
Purchased my first Frank Clegg briefcase after hearing so many good things about their work.

Love how they were made to carry logs! I need a bag to be robust - everyday - rough and tough and still look amazing! I want one of these bags

Great video as always Carl. So much detail into it. Bro, you should be at 100K now with all the work you put in. 🔥
Haha, maybe one day. For now I just like getting better at cinematography and story telling. Thanks bro!
Great Video Carl!!! Love the story behind Frank Clegg
Thanks! It’s so great hearing the history behind brands like his, especially over 40 years! Do you see how his demeanor changed as he was describing the inspiration for each bag type? He clearly loves what he does.
Loving the stories of how the bags were designed and named. Those are lovely bags. Definitely will buy one in the future.
You'll be blown away, I sure was!
Really great company. I've known about them for quite some time. One of them products that you buy once and never buy again, so long you condition and care for it :)
Absolutely! This video has been a long time coming.
Informative and fun video. Hard to believe making videos like this isn’t even your main/only occupation carl!

Absolutely! It’s a level of craftsmanship that’s very rare, but once you’ve experienced it you’re hooked.

I believe they make a garment bag. frankcleggleatherworks.com/garment-bag.html
Really enjoyed this one, particularly the story of the fire wood duffle. Unfortunate that this video it isn't more popular.
Haven't heard of this company but it's one I'd keep on my radar. Love the story telling documentary style format you got going.
You really ought to pick up one of their bags man, you’d love it.
Kid knows quality leather goods, wearing a pair of Nick's. Thanks for the awesome video Carl.
Thanks for watching! I’ll be doing a review of my Nicks Boots soon.
@@CarlMurawski Awesome! Very much looking forward to it.
Absolutely love this inside look to shops like this. If I could start my career over it would be something like this or bespoke shoe making. So mesmorizing
Agreed! Same here.
Hey Carl! Love your videos.. Make a review with their product will ya?.. Would love to see your review about it
Consider it done!
As a young professional I went with the Buffalo Jackson bison messenger bag and travel tote but one day I will own a set of these
Frank Clegg...one of the best!

now that is artisan quality workmanship that doesn't cost an arm and leg... ehem Hermes
Would u like to giveaway one ?
I’d love to, but I don’t have that kind of bankroll!
More expensive than Mont Blanc and quality is not the same as Mont Blanc. Nice but priced above itself.
Really Mont Blanc
Ian appears to be very uncomfortable, particularly at the 'everyone touches our bags' part.
I don't think he's very interested in talking about leather!
I love Andrew's enthusiasm though
