I grew up in Fall River, and 100 years ago we were the textile manufacturing capital of the USA. Those mills are closed now, but it’s amazing to have people like Frank Clegg who still care about that tradition and make world-class quality goods. Thanks for highlighting this!
Bought my first piece from FC recently. I don’t regret it at all. I don’t think I’ll have 10 or 15 Frank Clegg pieces in my wardrobe the way I can with Filson and other brands, but the one I do have is definitely my pride and joy. I’ve never let anybody I disagree with dissuade me from supporting artisans that I like just because they share similar taste.
Fk yea it's worth it. The guy uses a tonne of leather, every edge is painted or polished, everything is lined, all the materials and hardware are top notch, but most importantly he has decades of experience in making elegant, practical, and ultimate succesful designs that work well and age even better. He is lucky to be able to charge a fair price because most leatherworkers can't.
100% on supporting made in USA businesses. The company still preserves its values and vision. Treat his employees well , and his business model allows him to sell the high caliber bags at a fair price .
If you can afford it, it’s the best. I have a briefcase, duffle , snd a small dopkit for 8 years now. Best investment you can buy and then give it to your grandkids .
I have a tall working tote that serves every role from casual briefcase to my dang reusable shopping bag. I'm trying to figure out what tannery they use... It ~might~ be haas, but idk?
@@Stridewise I know it is... That doesn't mean I can't figure it out. I know what certifications they have, I know it's French, and I know they're exclusively using veg tanning. Narrows it down quite a bit.
"The tannery he uses is a secrete" So not USA made leather ? Horween in Chicago produces some amazing leathers. I am wearing some heritage boots with their Chromexcel right now.
Briefcases look nice but none have outer compartments for easy access, no outer/trolley sleeve to attach to your luggage, and no stilts on bottom so your bag will get scuffed when you put it down. For $1,450, I expect more.
Many of his briefcases have full length outside pockets on both sides(very discrete). They offer four different luggage mechanisms that can be added to their designs for small fee. For the caliber of the bag, it is a fair price. It could cost double at a high end store ,Easily .
I understand the sentiment, but I’ve never let stuff like that stop me from supporting hardworking American companies. He also breathes air. I have no plans to boycott the air that moves oxygen to my brain.

I grew right by Fall River so it's so great seeing fantastic manufacturing still happening there.
Oh cool! I loved the new england accent there Frank had, I hadn't heard that varietal of American before
@@Stridewise Haha, that Fall River/New Bedford accent totally grates on my nerves. I'm glad I never picked it up! Does remind me of home though.

Lovely bag, maybe one day, but for now, I can just admire it and this video.
Many of my French-Canadian ancestors worked in the mills of Fall River
5:14 love that you guided him to the full answer even tho you knew the answer :D
was very interesting. thanks

I asked but they said it was a secret!

Nice take on FK. I'd love to see your take on Harber London e Hardgraft bags.
Damn, I just got back from London! Maybe next time
Nick, is that a denim jacket you are wearing? Waxed trucker or what? Brand?
It's Huckberry's waxed trucker! With the wax worn away ruclips.net/video/X_mHpmqREbk/видео.html
I own a FC bag ... beautiful
I love buffalo Jackson bags 😊❤
I really enjoyed that. Not sure I can justify that much on a bag, but appreciate the craft.
That's exactly the reaction I wanted! I learned a ton, really interesting how much goes into the edges.
Lots of people here hate Obama, but none can explain why 🙄
Please don't encourage the conversation
@@Stridewise next time just put something like "US presidents" instead
@@Enrico- You really don't get it, do you?
He has ripped this country apart. that barakka!!❤
@@JR-mg6mm Explain how..
Good to know Obama has quality taste too! Not surprised to be honest.
Lol.
Bags look great, I wouldn't spend that much though
So long as you appreciate the craftsmanship I'm happy
So?
sew buttons
Second 🙌🏻
I thought Obama's bag is Mrs. Mike!!
beautiful bags, but once you overcome the name you can get bags MTO by hand for a 1/3rd
Well sure. Stuff made in Europe already costs a third of the price. The value proposition of US Made bags (or clothing) can't be in the price.
First comment.
Now what? Clearly, you have no style and you’re definitely not a man !
YOU WIN 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
You had nooo at Obama
Still salty that he's the most popular president since Clinton, eh?
I wouldn't want anything that's associated with that demonic wretch
I understand the sentiment, but I’ve never let stuff like that stop me from supporting hardworking American companies. He also breathes air. I have no plans to boycott the air that moves oxygen to my brain.
There still seems to be people out there, who don't know what's going on with Obama😒🤢
Obama’s Bag?
Pass.
yeah I messed up emphasizing that in the video, insta-alienated half the audience
@@Stridewise I appreciate the response. It’s no big deal. I was simply responding to the political angle.
Obama got one? Then I’m definitely not buying it. 🤡
Obama also breathes air. So stop doing it.
Not into this Obama
I wouldn’t buy something endorsed by Obama. Besides, the best bags are made in Florence, Italy.
Funny, normally people who don't like Obama really prefer American made goods
are you referring to la "Scuola del Cuoio" or to others?
