2000 - 2006 Chevy Tahoe Remote Key Fob Programming - How To Pair Program Chevrolet Fob

A DIY video tutorial on how to program or pair a remote key fob to a 2000 - 2006 Chevy Tahoe. You will need an ignition key and all of the key fob remotes you want programmed to the Chevrolet Tahoe in order to complete this programming procedure.
To program or pair a remote key fob to your Chevy Tahoe:
1. Close all vehicle doors.
2. Insert the key into the ignition.
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release in step 9.
4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote key fob simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds.
11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote key fob (including any existing fobs).
12. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the remote programming mode.

Ok so i just bought the keyfob i need. I put my truck in programming mode, then press and hold both lock and unlock it connects then i put my ke in the on position and it doesn't go out of programing mode

I must be doing something wrong? I have a 01 tahoe and when I do the steps I hear the doors actuate and I press the lock and unlock but nothing happens. My new remote looks just like my old one but it does nothing?? Please help and thanks so much!!

if the vehicle is going into programming mode but not responding to the fob - then there may be an issue with the fob

How do you program for drivers?

the order in which you program them in will determine the driver number ( first remote is Driver 1 and second remote programmed is driver 2 )

If having trouble try cleaning the contacts with a Q tip and alcohol. Fixed it for me.

Same problem. Wouldn't reprogram until I popped the fob apart and cleaned the contacts with a Q tip and alcohol. Then it worked!
