Always worth taking a couple of pictures or sketching the location of each wire before removing so one can replace like for like rather than relying on the replacement part to have easy to read colour codes.
My whirlpool dryer knobs turns dryer comes on but knob doesn't move to turn the dryer off. I have open door and it cuts off. Knob doesn't advance to shut off? Pulled knob off it's not cracked. What could it be.
I have a thin twin whirlpool dryer and wash and the dryer timer turns and still ends when I physically move it to end but when I start I wont move by it self.while moving I can hear like clicks on some parts
@@gameaccount7142 That helped me so much. I put my ohmmeter on terminals 1&3 and wiggling the timer back and forth made the connection for the heat. I knew it was the timer. I had checked out the heating coil and the 3 fuses/thermostats and they were ok. I got it working enough for tonight and will order a new timer. Thanks!!!
You should be reattaching wires to new one each time you remove one, else an amateur may not remember where they go. Or take a photo of the old one still attached.
My knob the engages the dyer is broken the plastic piece that holds the needle in place the place where I took it for repair says I need a timing thingy I think I need a replacement piece to engage the know I'm frustrated please help?
We should be able to get you back up and running but we will need your make and model number of the dryer to make sure we are providing you with the right information. Look forward to hearing from you .
We bought the part and I installed it just like this and it still doesn't want to start. Starting to think the professional that came and gave the diagnostic was wrong.
Sorry to hear your still having troubles, One thing to check is manually turn the drum with the door open and see if it turns freely, if it does the belt maybe broken and many dryers have a belt break switch, the door switch will also prevent a dryer from starting. I expect you have already checked your fuses and or breakers so your getting proper power to the dryer. There is also a thermal fuse that if the vent get plugged will open the motor circuit as a safety precaution. It does not reset so once its tripped it has to be replaced, be sure to check your vent for good airflow once you get the dryer running again.
@@FixDotCom Thanks so much for the reply! The belt is broken (the drum doesn't make a full turn) and when we opened up the back the rollers were messed up as well. I appreciate the response, it really helps ^^
The best channel I found that says how to replace a Whirlpool timer and then the guy actually shows you how to replace the Whirlpool timer.
Thanks very much! The added comment to take a photo of each angle of the plugs gave me added confidence.

Our entire timer became dislodged. It still works, it's just not connected from behind. This video was very helpful.
Thank you for the very informative video.
Nice job! I appreciate the background music while your working 👍🎶
Hi what if the timer shaft is broken? I have a whirlpool dryer ...do I need to change all the timer?

Is there a way to fix the stem on the timer where the knob connects to?

Thank you for your easy to follow instructions! But, I’d rather let a professional do it to be certain that is the problem! My Gratitude!😊
