Well, that was an amazing informative video. Very well produced and I was able to see exactly what I needed to do to fix my dryer. We have no Appliance repairman where I live, and it's 3 hours to the closest town. Very expensive to have someone come out. Thank you again, I am a subscriber.
How did so many people not like this video? Its the best ever.
Be cause they are probably the same type of people who dislike everything lol, those types are out there lol
Great job for your information you have help me a lot ty
Great! Thank you!
The stance is top tier 👌🏾
Excellent Video! Well Explained!
Really good video thanks.
Excellent, informative, and no nonsense. Very nice . Much appreciated .
You are very welcome!
Good job
How much resistance should a dual element show?
I have a couple of Samsung elements that read like:
Blue and white--- 46.2
Blue and Red---- 12.5
White and Red---33.3
Blue is in the double if I am not mistaken.
In my experience, I can see the 12.5, but the higher reading has me scratching my head.
That being said, I think I saw a video where someone else showed high readings similar to these. I am not sure if they showed two high readings.
The dryer I am stuck on only heats up to like 90 with all new thermal components.
Replaced start switch and now everything back to normal. Thanks!
Glad we could help out!
After watching this video I have now become a certified RUclips dryer diagnostic technician.

What about the resistor at the start switch? it will keep the timer from shutting the machine off too
I removed the sensor to find lots of lint behind it and lint in the hole where the sensor wires fed through. I vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned the sensor, vacuumed the entire dryer and it works normal now.
Great job Matt, excellent video
Thank you. If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
My Samsung dryer gets stuck at 1 minute on both manual and auto sensor cycles. The heating element was just replaced...any change the repair and the new problem could be related?
Super helpful. Thanks!
Worked for me. Thanks. Samsung Model DV40J300GW
You're welcome!
Thanks for the information
Great job yoi help me
Thanks! Wanted to caution folks that success of this method may vary. I tapped the relay a LOT would not work-could not unstick it by tapping. ordered a refurbished circuit board online for $100.00 (Samsung parts website no longer carried it). Swapping out the boards fixed the problem, but after 3 days the problem was back! however, with this new circuit board tapping the relay does seem to work so far. I wish when something like this happens where a product has a universal problem, even if out of warranty, the company would do something to make things right for customers.
The timer on my dryer would not stop at off after the 70 minute cycle. The timer continued from off to the air fluff cycle and then to the low dry cycle, however only the heating element turned on but not the blower and it did not tumble. I changed the timer as suggested but the new timer does the same as well. Does this mean I got a faulty new timer or something else is wrong?
you ever fix the problem can you share the problem i have the same issue
@@Usalogic sounds like either the belt came loose or the idle pulley came off the belt and made it slip off the motor or the belt broke if it wont spin and just the heat comes on that would be my first check would be belt if its intact and tight on the drum then it would be most likely the motor went bad
3way door switch, if I did not plug it together the right way will that cause it to keep running after shut down?
A door switch typically only shuts it off when you open the door. If you turn the dial to off it shouldn't run with the door switch bypassed.
I put a load in my dryer last evening and I didn’t realize it but the dryer kept spinning all night. The clothes were plenty dry and only barely warm when I pulled them out. However, now that I have stopped the dryer from moving, it will not start again. Also, the timer mechanism never finished cycling with this last load. Please help!!!!
Check the thermal fuse
Bad element will only keep the timer from advancing in Auto Heat, right? Whether it gets to rated temp of the cycling stat or not had no effect in Timed cycle, right?
I know this video is a bit old but I figure I would comment. I have a Roper dryer who’s thermal fuse I’ve replaced 4 times now. It won’t shut off whether on timed dry or auto dry. Any idea? I’ve tested the continuity to my timer and not sure if I’m reading it correctly
What is your model number?
Hello I have a whirlpool dryer after for example I set it for 60 minutes ,when its done it wont turn off,but start buzzing till we turn it off ,what do you think? Please advise
Thank you
It sounds like a timer issue. What is the model number?
What would cause my dryer timer not to advance while in the cool down cycle?
I'm having same problem. Dryer drys fine just will not advance past cool down cycle on timed dry to shut it off
I love this guy and I have no idea why lol. I think it's the stoner smile he has 😆
He’s to smart to be a stoner! Lol😂
I'm confused!! Could you maybe shed some light on my problem with my G.E. dryer. I vacuumed all the inside of the dryer thoroughly. And replaced the vent tube to the outside. This was done prior to the belt breaking. Just replaced the belt and the door switch to make the dryer work again. Now the dryer heats up but will not shut down. Is it possible a wire came off the timer or something else is wrong. I don't want to call a repairman as it will not be worth the money. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you David!!
Same fix for gas dryer??
So mine stays on all day and clothes are still not dry. Can feel no heat at all.
My dryer dries but when it gets to cool down mode it will set there for ever till you turn it off. Any suggestions on where to look for this problem?
Im having the same issue. Replaced the timer. still the same issue.
@@Josephbreierthat’s what I did too and still no fix. Did you ever fix yours?
My timer isn't stopping when it gets to off. It just keeps spinning around and around like the Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going and going and going like the song that never ends......
Mine too, looks like possibly a couple different reasons for that🫤 did you ever find out what it was that was causing that to happen on your dryer?
Mine too 🤔
Samsung stacked on 1 min remaining any idea
What is it when your electric dryer works as it should and shuts off at the end of the cycle, but the heat is staying on?
I have the same problem.
Bad heating element
Grounded heating element, the coil has broken and fused to the element housing, which means it has a permanent circuit and the element will stay on whenever the dryer is on. Its very dangerous and you meed to replace the element. Here is how to test if its grounded. Get a voltage meter and set it to ohms continuity. Touch one probe to the RED wire connected to the element and the other probe to the case of the element. If you have continuity (a beep or any reading other than OL) then Its grounded. Replace the element
@@alexsinclaire1504 Thank you, but it burnt out and thankfully didn't burn the house down.
@@lmadden6236 thats a relief, dryers that arent cleaned out kill people, and a grounded element is a major cause of fire
I replaced the timer not stop
Timers are expensive. I fix them when I can
GE dryer won’t start unless it’s banged and now won’t shut off even with power button turned off.
What is the model number of your dryer?
Dryer wont shutoff on certain cycles
Why would a dryer timer not shut off in timed mode?
What is your model number?
he's talking too fast
You listen too slow!
