Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on RUclips, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on RUclips. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on RUclips, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

The story behind this song is one of the most hearbreaking stories in rock history. David Gates wrote a masterpiece tribute that tears me up everytime I hear it.

David Gates wrote this for his deceased father, not a lost lover as 16-year-old me thoght at the time. Touching song and great reaction as always.

David Gates wrote this song after his father passed. I miss my mother too. She died in 2018 from Alzheimer's and this song always slays me.
I completely understand. My mother passed away from Alzheimer's in 2014 and my husband passed away from covid in 2021. This song hits different now. Prayers for you on the death of your mother.

This really brought up some memories 💔 for me too. Ot made me think lf my mom and dad too. It also made me mourn my youth. Missing that energetic girl 😢
The actual meaning of this song meant more to me when I got older and could not get back my folks that I lost...😥 Quite possibly one of the saddest songs ever! 😢

Lost dad young way back in 86. Mom in 2009. My husband of 40 years in 2018. I miss them all, but my husband damn near killed me.

I had this on 8-Track tape when it came out in 1972. My dad passed away two days after my 15th birthday in 1973. This song absolutely made me cry every time I played it after that. Wore that tape out and shed a lot of tears doing it.
I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. And right after your birthday, too. I hope you were eventually able to enjoy your birthdays without the pain of that loss.
@@terri2494 I was able to enjoy my birthday for many years after that until recently. I married my wife who shared the same birthday as me six years later. That had always been a dream of mine to find someone with the same birthday as me. We shared 41 birthdays together until she passed away from cancer three years ago July 26th. I’m right back where I started so many years ago. Thank You for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.

“Amazingness” is right! Every time I heard another Bread song on the radio, it brought a smile to my face. This song is heartbreaking, it’s real life! I lost my mom when she was 38 and I was 9. I never thought to relate this song to my mom, but it fits. Thank you for giving me a new perspective on the meaning of these lyrics. I love your reaction.

David Gates was the heart and soul of "Bread". His angelic voice and winsome lyrics speak to our souls, in so many heart wrenching ways. Blessings to all who have loved and lost.
100%. This song hits both ways for me. In 2023 I lost my partner of 37 years to cancer. It was sudden, six months from the time of diagnosis until the end. It changes your whole world, and I can 1000% relate to that feeling of I would give up everything to have them back here. I'm sorry you had to go through that with your mom too. My mom was taken from a massive stroke, which is also hard because it is so sudden.
Man, I remember this song hitting me hard. I just took it as a sort of a breakup song, never catching some of those lyrics. I feel the some way about my mom RIP. Peace.

Lost my pop in 2015 five days shy of his 91st birthday. My Mom will be 92 next month, God willing. I have always said if I outlive her, this will be played at her funeral along with Jenn Bostic’s Jealous of the Angels.
Until today, I had always thought this song was about a lover. Listening closely to the words today I realised it was more appropriate for a parent, in my case, my mother. I am so grateful for your channel as you have given me the opportunity to listen to songs that have been a part of my life in a different way. Thank you.

When I was younger, I heard it as he was talking about a lover because I didn't get deep into the lyrics. But then I really listened and realized and man...did it hit hard.
It never fails every time I listen to this song, I end up shedding some tears. It's very a very personal song for me too, Shawn. I thought I'd suggest a new band to give a listen, if interested. "The Association - Never My Love - On The Ed Sullivan Show" (by the channel: The Ed Sullivan Show) --This song is a pop standard it was written by American siblings Don & Dick Addrisi. But The Association was the first band to top the charts with the song. The Association was an American sunshine pop band from California. They had several songs to hit the top or near the top of the charts. So, there's more of their tunes to explore in future, if interested. And as always, I enjoyed rocking with you, thanks for sharing.

DAVID GATES (leader of the band BREAD) is a genius songwriter (lyrics and music) and his voice magnifies his compositions. However, until you listen to what most reviewers and fans recognize as his ultimate masterpiece (in three movements) "Suite: Clouds, Rain" (from his solo album 'First', 1973), you will not yet have a completely accurate idea of the exceptional master that he is. Along with three dog night this group should have been into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame!!! But we we have learned later on the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame committee started to induct mainly hip-hop and rap crap what a shame leaving behind truly some of the greatest music of all time!!!💔💔💔
