Lovely to spend time with you Jill, I'm shocked to see your video has had 8,000+ views and they haven't subscribed. Their loss, I think you are great and look forward to the next couple of videos you have done.
I love the flower cart, the stitches look wonderful, it gives it a real cane basket look. Great projects and keen to see your progress!
Take care and happy stitching 🌷🌷 from Judy in New Zealand FT An Aussie in a Kiwi world
@@anaussieinakiwiworld9355 thank you Judy! Happy to have you watching and following along my progress :)
Loved your projects! I look forward to following your progress. Take care!
Thank you!
Love stamped project.
@@missdebbie6303 thank you! It was a fun one :)
Finally a cross stitcher that will not support the unnamed store! I thought I was the only one. Congratulations on you new channel I loved it.
Thank you! You’re not the only one!
I don’t either! Stealing cultural antiquities and paying terrorists is beyond the pale for me!
Welcome always love new floss tubers. Your stitch pieces are awesome. See you soon, happy stitching
Thank you!
I love it when I find a new floss tube that is just star5ing. Really enjoyed you and subscribed.
Thank you! Happy to have you here following along!
Your first video was awesome. It is intimidating to film yourself, but you handled it like a pro. Your stitches are very cool, I love how you are so ready to make adjustments and recharting, I wish I could be that confident, lol. I have no idea what store is an issue, but I live in Canada so I probably don't go there anyway. I have wanted to check out some destash groups but am not sure how to find them or what to look for. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.
Thank you! I have found the destash groups are mostly on Facebook if you use that platform, just a simple search for “cross stitch destash” and you should be able to find some. Best of luck!
Jill, thank you for the video. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for stitching and could relate. The travel you do for your job sounds like fun. I liked you tips for saving on supplies, I can definitely use them. Magic Castle is beautiful. Looking forward to your next video!
Thank you!!
I use Libby too. I love your thriftiness. I am jealous over your Craft Store with all the great bargains. I think getting a good deal of someone's previous treasure is the ultimate in recycling.
Thank you!! I love a good deal and especially my local buy nothing group! Wishing the craft store was closer but it makes the trips out there more special :)
I enjoyed your video. I didn't notice the things you mentioned at the end that you thought you should have done differently. I just notice if I can see the project well enough, if the pieces interest me, if I can hear and understand what you're saying. I really loved the fabric color for Hagrid's Hut. It looked the same color as fabric I got for a project. I also love Cottage Garden Samplings, though I haven't done any of these projects. I liked the idea of switching the tiny house to a cooler for the raccoon. What an adorable story to go along. The stocking your Mom made you was really nice. The way you looked at it conveyed a lot that matched how you talked about your mom and I thought that was very sweet.
@@dellittwilson thank you so much for your kind words. Lovely to have you watching and following along :)
Great first flosstube! I love your enthusiam. Libby - it never occurred to me to use my Libby app to search for cross stitch magazines. Thank you so much.
Thank you!! I hope your library/Libby has them available! It’s seriously the best resource :)
Stitching and listening to audiobooks! We match! ❤
The best combo!
Loving this first video (still watching)! Glad to have you on Flosstube 😊
Thank you!
Absolutely love your vibe, and the long first video was perfect, so fun getting to "meet" you. Look forward to seeing you again ☺️ Happy Stitching -Kimberly
Thank you Kimberly!
Your projects are awesome, great first video !!! Keep up the good work, and YAY for a new cross stitch Potterhead :)
Thank you!!
Jill, you didn’t tell us! Great first video! You have some great projects going. Hope to see you soon.
Thanks Christine!
Love how chill you are keep it up. Everything in life is awkward literally 😊
Thank you!
I enjoyed your video. My only critique was that you move the pictures and your wips around quite a bit without holding it still for us to get a better look
I do have to say that I’m impressed with the stocking that you’re doing for your mom. Very sweet of you ❤
Thank you! I’ll try to keep the projects up for you to see but usually I’m so excited to share I go fast :)
love your stocking. I stitched that one (plus 4 others) many years ago. They were a true labor of love and I know the one you're doing is the same.
Thank you! It’s been a lot of fun stitching it so far. Hoping to get a lot more progress during Christmas in July
Jill Jill Jill!! I’m obsessed! ❤❤❤-C
Thank you! Honored to be in the flosstube community!
Hello and congrats on your first video!!
Thanks Lisa!
Hi Jill, you had me at cross stitch desert. I live in La Crescenta by Pasadena. Keep up the great flosstube. Thanks
Thank you! Nice to have another local around :)
Welcome! I enjoyed your video. My first thought when I saw your Magic Castle was it would make a great pillow. Just think of all the yummy finishing fabrics you could use! Take care and hope to see you again!
Thank you!
Great first video! I love fabrics too! I joined a couple of FOTM groups (BeStitchMe and Mystic Fabrics). It's like two presents each month. So fun. I would love to know what the purple fabric you have is...that one was my favorite! I loved all your projects! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I’ve thought about FOTM clubs but don’t know what count fabric is my favorite to stitch on yet, I’m not loyal to any one in particular.
The purple fabric is a Fortnight Fabric (no longer dyeing) “Gobi” linen in 32ct (I mention it in my second video). I found it in a destash group so it was a total score!
@@StitchnBooks It's really pretty! I have always loved stitching on 32 count but now I want to try 36 because it makes the finish a little smaller. Sometimes it fits so much better, especially for large patterns. Sometimes you need just little extra room or you have to order a bigger piece. So the 36 count helps! Take your time deciding what you like best. :)
Great video! Thanks for sharing 🙋♀️🇨🇦
Thank you!
I saw the HP books first so I knew I’d like your channel! Great first video!
Thanks! Those books are my prized possessions second only to the signed/dedicated print above my head lol
Keep these videos coming. They're so entertaining. Thank you thank you
Thank you for watching! A new one will be out soon!
Thanks for your (not too awkward) welcome video! I stumbled across it after being in the Stitches and Pages book club meet up with you this evening. I enjoyed seeing all your projects!
Thank you! That was a fun book club discussion, looking forward to the next one!
Awesome video!! Loved all your projects , very inspiring!😊
Thank you!
Jill! Loved your first show! Can't wait to see more! Happy Stitching, Kari St.Clair- Springfield, Missouri
Thank you Kari!
You could make the Harry Potter piece into a tote bag
I like that idea!
Hello. Enjoyed your video and “awkward intro” lol. I love the forbidden fiber book club and all her kits!! I stitched the lavender and lace design you have about 20 years ago.
Thank you! I recently started the angel and it’s been fun to stitch. I bet your finish is lovely!
Welcome to the flosstube community ❤❤❤
Thank you! Happy to be here :)
You could try adding stabilizer fabric to the linen to make it do what you want. You flosstube was great!
Thank you! I’ll give it a try :)
Hi. Thank you for your first floss tube. Hogwarts would be great framed and hung up in a cupboard under the stairs.
Haha I don’t have a cupboard u see the stairs but I do have a weirdly large walk-in storage closet…
How many threads are you stitching on the stocking? 2 over 2 or 3 over 2? I have the original patterns from the Better Homes and gardens book and they are all stitched 3 over 2. That may be why your mom's stitches look different. I stitched both my kids stockings 24 years ago before I ever new about Kooler Design Studio. She probably stitched from the original pattern as well. I recently bought one of the stockings from Kooler Design to get a PDF version and it's a little different. Love your channel, beautiful work!
Thank you!
It’s 3 over 2 but I had doubts the original from BH&G called for 2 over 2 so I’m happy to hear it’s the same. Maybe time and storage made her stitches look more neat…or my mom is more talented than I am haha
Girl I'm sitting here with a broken ankle!! Lol😂
The worst! I hope you have some stitching to keep you busy!
I commute to Burbank and pass Pasadena. Could you share the name of the craft thrift store? What an amazing find!
Of course! It’s called Remainders! It’s off Washington. Have fun!
If you are going to get your work professionally framed please do not skint on the margins because the framer will need the margin to enable proper framing to take place. He will want to stretch the cloth to hold it firmly for framing. Stitching Mommy has done a framing clip and you may want to watch that to understand how stitch work is set for framing. I hope this helps you.
Thank you for the advice! For the time being I don’t see myself getting anything professionally framed but maybe in the future so it’s good knowledge to have :)
Also wanted to ask, I'm going to California to visit my daughter. Can you tell me where that craft thrift store is?
Sure! It’s in Pasadena
