    Your first flosstube was awesome! Your stitching is beautiful and your pattern choices are so much fun. I quilt a little bit and would love to see some of what you do. I haven't done it in a while but now I am thinking of making project bags and am super excited to pick it up again. I'm sorry you suffer so bad with migraines, I get them too and have been taking gabapentin for years. I also have a chronic illness and I absolutely understand what it is like living and functioning when your body is hating you. I hope your treatments help. I am looking forward to seeing your next video. From Canada🇨🇦👋

    One quick tip for the waterlilies is to go up one size in needle. It will make a slightly bigger hole and make less drag on the thread and help with the fuzzy. It’s a good tool for the kreinik as well.
    Enjoyed your video!! Look forward to seeing more flosstubes from you.

    • @PiecedPineapple
      @PiecedPineapple  4 дня назад

      Ooh! Thank you for the tip! I switched the order of stitching to be silks, DMC, then kreinik in that area in hopes of minimizing drag, but for some reason I didn’t think about sizing up the needle for the silks. I’m definitely going to give it a try. ❤ Thank you so much for your comment and for watching my first flosstube!

      I’m sorry to hear you suffer as well! I’m in the uphill phase right now before the Botox treatments (which helps the physical pain in my neck and forehead) and the vyepti infusion (which lessens the daily pain and vertigo for the first few weeks after) later this month. I’ll gladly take those couple weeks of light daily symptoms though! It took a long time to get through insurance hoops so it’s only my third infusion coming up. Fingers crossed for longer relief this time and being able to drive again! Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it!

      I’m so glad I finally filmed and could contribute to the community. That’s great that you were able to narrow down your migraine triggers! I have an inkling mine might be related to barometric pressure changes, and sadly there are many pressure swings here. It’s been interesting testing out and tracking possible triggers, but keep coming up short. I’m staying positive we’ll find a treatment plan that helps though! Until then, I’ll just keep stitching! Hehe Thank you for watching!

    Welcome! RUclips randomly “selected” your video for me and I’m so glad it did! I have at least three of the same wips as you do! I stitched the big yellow moon on the Universal Monsters pattern and it adds a lot to the look of the picture. It’s a lot of stitching but I didn’t have to spend too much time on it-worked up fast! On a totally unrelated subject, I kept staring at your teal fireplace! Wow! I have a traditional brick fireplace and I am wavering back and forth trying to decide whether to paint or not! Yours is beautiful! Please keep posting since I have subscribed and would love to stare at your fireplace again!!

    • @PiecedPineapple
      @PiecedPineapple  6 дней назад +1

      Yay! I’m so glad it was recommended to you! I really needed that encouragement on the big moon and its impact. I remember being so in awe when stitchers started incorporating it and I’m just being lazy now haha
      I’m so glad you like my fireplace color! I really wish I had the natural brick the house was built it (it’s a pretty peachy blend of colors), but a flipper painted the fireplace white (and everything else grey, ugh!). Our home is a 60’s rambler ranch, so I’m trying to slowly bring out some midcentury modern vibes in this family room. The fireplace color was shocking at first, but we absolutely love the impact! Hi! I’m going to go watch your flosstube now! I love Modern Folk Embroidery designs! I’m a bit intimidated by them though for some reason. There are a couple winter designs that I’m on the fence about getting - especially O Tidings of Comfort and Joy. I’m so sorry to hear you suffer from migraine too! Quilting/piecing is a bit more challenging during a medium attack, especially when vertigo kicks in and I need to switch between the machine, pressing and trimming, but I can chain piece! If I’m having a medium-bad attack, I tend to cross stitch instead with flosstube playing. Thank you for watching my first flosstube! ❤

    Hi Lisa. What a wonderful collection of stitching pieces. The nativity pattern is absolutely beautiful. I too suffer from migraines. I was getting occipital nerve blocks, but they stopped helping. I now take medicine three times a day to keep the migraines at bay. I can tell if I miss a dose or am late taking it. I pray that your days are filled with more stitching time and less pain. I live in Florence, SC…..about an hour or so from Columbia. I look forward to your next video. ~Pam

      Ugh, migraine is the worst, isn't it?! We're still struggling to find an acute medication that helps to break an attack, but I keep praying that something starts to help. The design firm I work for does a lot of the work in the Florence area so I'm somewhat familiar. I mostly stop as far as Sumter though for my neurologist. Hopefully your current treatment works long-term! I'm a sucker for a good nativity pattern hehe

    Lovely to meet you! I love your style. My best friend has chronic migraines like you and the botox is the only thing that has helped her too, so since you're already doing that it seems like that's the most that can be done currently, which sucks. Have you looked at stamped cross stitch kits? That way you don't have to worry about counting at all, and I believe there are several that work with artists so they have a right to sell the stamped kits with their art.

    • @PiecedPineapple
      @PiecedPineapple  6 дней назад +1

      Aww, thank you! I’m so sorry to hear your friend suffers too - it’s miserable! The Botox has helped lessen the muscular and tension pain for me, i just wish it helped with my vestibular symptoms! An infusion treatment was approved in the US a few years ago, and has been a game changer for many. I’m hopeful it helps more in future treatments. The struggle I have with cross stitch when it gets bad is mostly my eyes not being able to focus properly on linen or evenweave threads, so I’m adding Aida back in for my new projects. I need to check out some stamped kits though! Thank you so much for watching!

    Cross stitch is the easiest craft in existence. I learned as a young child in the late 70’s. We obviously didn’t have the internet then and it truly isn’t necessary to start stitching. A couple seconds reading the directions and you’re good to go. If someone hasn’t tried cross stitch and think you need a class or it’s difficult or whatever-just jump in! It’s not hard and a lot of flosstubers act like it’s super complicated. The difference in skill level is negligible between a new stitcher and someone like me who’s been stitching for over 50 years. I don’t do anything different now than I did as a seven year old. Enjoy!

Sadly my first project as an adult had no directions - perhaps I should have started with a kit like a normal person 😂 I love all the tips and tricks for improving the look of my stitching that I’ve learned through Flosstube. Is that a string of pearls behind you? So far I’ve managed to kill a string of pearls, string of turtles, and a string of hearts 😩😩😩. Yours looks gorgeous!!! I’m going to keep trying though! I wonder if I should invest in a bigger plant. I’ve always bought small ones trying to grow them bigger. Anyway, welcome!! I haven’t seen any of your WIPs yet- I had to comment right away about your gorgeous plant! lol 😁. Edited to add: I almost went on that cruise! I ended up canceling because my husband was really not too happy about going, and I just couldn’t justify the cost for me to go by myself (lost some $ to the cancellation, but less than the overall cost). I was so sad I missed it!! But I’m happy to hear it was fun!! Vertigo is AWFUL. I have BPPV, where the vertigo is worse when you move your head in certain positions. Is it a possibility that an angry migraine brain could kick loose some otoliths in your ear? (Sounds weird but you never know…bodies do funky things sometimes!) If that’s the case, there are great videos online on the Epley Maneuver to work it out and help the vertigo. Chronic migraines are horrible. My heart goes out to you! *hugs*

      @@StitchingWithTheBirds I feel your pain with killing plants - both of the plants visible there are excellent faux plants!!! 😂 I’ve managed to keep a fiddle leaf alive inside for 1.5 years, but other than that I can’t keep plants alive indoors to save my life and couldn’t justify the cost of replacing them. The designer in me is very picky about my faux plants though. The snake plant is from World Market and the string of pearls is from Home Goods (West Room and CB2 had some even better ones). I’m so sad to hear you were going to be on the cruise with us! I definitely recommend signing up for another of Jean’s cruises and searching out a roommate. It was GREAT being with my husband, but I had honestly anticipated going alone at first to save costs but hubby surprised me and said he wanted to go. So sorry to hear about your BPPV! I see my neurologist next week for the next plan of attack and specifically addressing vertigo. 🤞

    Welcome to flosstube, it’s nice to meet you. I look forward to seeing what is going on in your life and and to see your stitching and definitely would love to see your quilting. You have a good variety to stitch on, that’s always important for me. Sorry to hear of your migraine troubles - it sounds awful - you seem to be a very strong woman. Look forward to seeing you again soon- thanks for sharing! BTW - what kind of wedding did you say you had? ?

      Thank you so much for watching my first flosstube! I very easily get bored if I’m stitching only on one style so variety is necessary 😂 I think the ability to switch between DMC, variegated silks, and Kreinik has kept me motivated/ addicted with my Enchantress of the Abyss.
      We had our wedding at a tiki weekender event called Tiki Oasis in San Diego, CA. Think mid-century Americana movement inspired by Polynesian, Melanesian, and Micronesian cultures - or Disney’s Tiki Room if the previous description isn’t helpful hehe 🦜🍹🌺🗿🏝️ We held it on the opening day where they have the opening night party at the historic Bali Hai. It was a budget wedding so we maximized it with the landscape of the hotel atrium (where the ceremony was) and the reception at a city park on Mission Bay, with the after party at Bali Hai and the start of the actual event. My husband and I used to volunteer at the event every year so many of our friends from across the country were already there. Probably more info than you bargained for - sorry! 😂 Thanks again for watching!

      You can do it! Just start where you are and you can improve in the future (and see history of your growth). My fears were in not having the right equipment or not enough consistent content. I just used my phone and simple free editing on my iPad. The hardest part was trying to get good natural light without major glare on my glasses 😂. I hope you’ll give it a shot and thank you so much for watching my first flosstube!

      Hi! It’s Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayon in Stay Exceptional 25 - but I prefer the warmer shade of Work For It 140 (that’s my go to in my purse). It stays creamy and stays put for a really long time! 🙌 Thank you for watching!
