Hey, so find a place that couples it with psychiatric care, it's all about the billing. My insurance reimburses me bc part of the bill says psychiatric care, so I'm only paying like $150 per session versed the $250 he charges. And I use my FSA to pay for the rest of it. This is for my infusions... But I have a Dr. I can suggest if Youre interested, he gives troches (at home sublingual). I see him once a month ($125 for virtual visit) and I get a month's worth of troches to be taken every 3 days ($45 at my compounding pharmacy). It's affordable and absolutely worth it .

I've had five courses of electroconvulsive therapy for severe, treatment-resistant depression as well as having tried nearly all the antidepressants on the market to no avail. Only ECT and ketamine truly helped with my depression, and I'd recommend that ketamine be more available to the severely depressed as it has helped me a lot.

Just had my first treatment, honestly I felt WORSE afterwards ans the next day...but by day 3 I had this bizarre clarity on everything...I was still very depressed but I all of sudden could easily verbalize and point to the things that were causing me to feel depressed, things I hadn't confronted or even thought about despite decades of severe depression...all of a sudden every the stressor became so much easier for me to verbalize what they were, where they came from...now, I do NOT feel any less depressed because these things still exist, but the fact I can see the roots of my feelings more clearly is a big step...many more treatments to come, I'm hopeful that a means of coming to terms with and attacking these issues will slowly become more apparent to me...this is tje most progress I've ever made tho

I just had a minimally invasive spine surgery and they gave me ketamine for pain instead of Opiates due to me being on Suboxone because of prior addiction issues, the Ketamine was given along with the anesthetic they used to put me under, after the surgery I felt amazing, had to fast before hand and in the recovery room they gave me animal crackers and coffee, it was the best meal I ever had ! All this has turned into despair for the last 5 years. I am to the point I don't care if I live or die. To me life is not worth the aggravation. And every time I want to try anything besides antidepressants or antipsychotics it's too expensive or my insurance doesn't cover it. I live on disability which is hell to live on so little. I even tried ECT which I regret. IAM hoping I can try the ketamine if they take my insurance. Otherwise I see my life ending sooner than later. Ive tried so many things and feel hopeless and helpless.

FYI: There are websites where you can talk to a doctor online and get a ketamine nasal spray in about a week for a total of $450. including doctor visit and web site fee. I have tried the nasal spray twice experimentally (one spray in one nostral once and one spray in both nostrils another time) and not noticed any shift but they recommend two sprays in each nostril and I have not tried that yet. This is vastly cheaper than an in-clinic appointment of $1,200. and supplies more ketamine so it may help others.

Because words are inert. They’re just symbols.

Why hasn't any Doctor told you that. Your going to allow the Doctors to kill you if you continue with all these 'treatments'. Anyways, it doesn't help me feel better anymore knowing that there is help out here. I have TRD / GAD and, some SSRI meds would take away almost all of my dizziness. (For me, it's definitely related to anxiety). The effects don't last but a month and, I'm back to feeling really dizzy. What I'm hoping is if I start out slow, the dizziness will go away. From there, I'd be able to handle to take higher doses.
Has anyone else had issues with that and it made them less dizzy? That's what I'm most worried about. It's hard to find someone with those specific issues. I'm running out of treatment options. (Tried meds/TMS/therapy)

Yeah… I find that a little crack cocaine can be helpful in treating my mood swings. I’m often lethargic or depressed. The hard white really wipes the cobwebs away and makes life bearable.

Some large foundation and or the government ought to fund a huge human trial study with Ketamine for depression. Ideally,a more affordable ways of precisely administering the medicine can be developed. May a special nasal spray apparatus. Ok. My "on the cheap" treatment would now costs me less than $5 a session. But I would happily pay for a something like a precisely measure throat mist. Or a sublingual pill with the exact dosage for my weight.

fees range from 350-1000 per infusion and some do not charge for an intake. If you google 'American Society of Ketamine Physicians' you can find. Insurance may cover at least a portion in the future as it works for many.

@@toddstarks226Depends in which country u live in! I believe this ketamine therapy is free in Canada in some clinics!
“A handful of hospitals ( in Canada) have begun setting up grant-funded programs that are free to patients, but the waiting lists can be months long. “
Otherwise, it says, it’s $4,700 Can for the weeks-long treatment! The prices may vary somewhat from a clinic to clinic!
One has to come back for a follow-up ‘top up’!
It is best to go to the professional official medical clinics in the hospital not just any ‘fly-by-night’ mall ‘clinic’, no matter how many ‘positive reviews’! I just read an article about someone going to one of these casual ‘wellness’ clinics , being traumatized by the experience! It seems he was given too much ketamine and was left unsupervised in a room!

OK! All good and basic! And then..?? Doing these things will not cure the debilitating chronic depression! A friendly church might help with isolation and loneliness! At the same time, many severely depressed people would find it difficult to attend any function, to leave the house!

    • @lenitaa7938
      @lenitaa7938 15 дней назад

I know u mean well! Yet, u are showing a complete lack of understanding the nature of a clinical depression!
Not everyone depressed is clinically depressed! There are situational depressions, such as a death of a loved one or living through a traumatic event, etc!
The clinical depressive disorder is an illness that is often chronic or regular episodes with some normal periods in between!
One does not cure the MS or a genetic heart condition by going to church or eating healthy! Eating healthy is important and helps some, but won’t help the depressed people function!
Please, do try to educate yourself on the topic! Many articles and books out there to help u understand! Also, talk to people that have this illness!
