    The crazy thing about this is, when whales die, sharks can feed off their body at the surface of the water, their body slowly sinks down, offering each creature on each depth of sea a little snack on the way.
    When it hits the bottom though, it virtually creates its own temporary eco-system, as big and small animals come to eat

    • @sophritoh
      @sophritoh 3 года назад +72

      Sound can’t travel well at all underwater especially the deeper you to so very quiet... maybe not to marine life hm idk, if they have different types of hearing senses? But we would just hear the noises of the submersible or our diving gear or if u somehow magically transported there without having to breathe I imagine like u said very eerie silence with sounds that do travel sounding slow and drawn out since they would take a long time to reach ur ears lol

      Short answer ya I’ve wondered! Pure isolation it’s crazy so unexplored

    • @longlivelinux90
      @longlivelinux90 3 года назад +84

      If ur scuba diving, all you hear is your own breathing and the bubbles leaving your regulator. Sounds darth vader-y
      Also on the cold remark - yes, it gets cold even 30-40ft underwater. There's a thing called a thermocline where the temperature suddenly drops drastically within a few feet of depth. If I remember correctly it has something to do with certain spectrum of light not being able to penetrate the denser molecules of water. Shipwreck diving at 100+ feet in lake michigan can be sub freezing temperatures!

      Yau stedes saben - there IS garbage in the deepest parts of the Ocean. The second person to dive the Challenger Deep (the deepest place on earth) found a plastic bag as soon as he turned his lights on the bottom. That was James Cameron in the late 90’s early 00’s.
      ROV’s that routinely study areas above the Mariana Trench find hoards of plastic and nets all the time - it just doesn’t make good TV.
      That’s why you don’t see more footage of the mass of garbage and plastic in the middle of the ocean that forms a mass as large as England that is VISIBLE FROM SPACE!!
      The ocean floor under the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is nonexistent, and we add more EVERY DAY.

      @@crystalm4324 Sorry Crystal, but what do you mean by "the ocean floor beneath that is non existent" please? Am really into learning about the Mariana Trench and the Oceans. They scare and fascinate me at the same time!

    • @crystalm4324
      @crystalm4324 3 года назад

      Tourbillon 13 - Yes, the Trench has fascinated my all my life as well. As for that last sentence, I really should have phrased it much better. The Ocean floor under the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is covered in 10’s of feet of garbage that has sunk.

    • @crystalm4324
      @crystalm4324 3 года назад +1

      Tourbillon 13 -one more thing you may really want to take a look at are the DEEP OCEAN REEFS! They take 1,000’s of years to create and are nurseries for Whale Sharks!! (And tons of other fish, sharks etc.. both deep sea dwellers, and pelagic fish - open ocean)
      These reefs grow only the thickness of a hair each year! Yet we have been DESTROYING them wholesale without even knowing they existed by using DRAG NETS on the sea floor!!
      ...We’ve known about these for over a decade, at least 20 years now, but dragnets are still used the world over. It was just confirmed with video evidence that Pregnant Whale Sharks dive to the depths near such reefs and come back up having given birth.
      Another thing you could check out in the deep is the Hydrothermal Vents and the life they support. Giant tube worms grow over the vents that can reach 750 DEGREES!! These vents are usually found along tectonic plates about 8,000 feet deep!! So zero sunlight, 400-750F, acidic water that consists of mainly Hydrogen Sulphide and Iron - yet there is life!!
      Lots of Life, every dive for the last 40 years has brought up new species!! Every single one! On the giant tube worms there are crabs, mussels, clams, shrimp, fish, and many more all reliant on a chemoautotrophic (lol word for the day) bacteria that extracts nutrients from the chemicals in the vent. This is the basis of life in this food chain that doesn’t rely on the sun. Unlike EVERY OTHER creature on earth!!! We rely on photosynthesis - science 101, plants turning sunshine into food.
      Isn’t that wild! We know more about our Solar System than we do about our own oceans!

      @malinmollymarleystop the cap, are you implying evolution just happened because it just does??? for no known reason other than evolution??? How boring. everything has a purpose, including you. A higher power made us to evolve, He programmed the simulation to be that way before light even existed. When light existed, the simulation that was programmed, was able to run its program. Exactly the way it was programmed. Ask a game developer how a game is made and if everything is created before or during the game, you may think it is during the game, but if the game was already programmed, is it your decisions when playing the game, program the game? or does the programmed game affect the decisions you're about to make? or was the game programmed for you to make those decisions and the decisions were already set as the game was programmed? try to view Gods simulation called Life in this way
