I see this going up and immediately remember the cover of Jonathan Young with Caleb, where he unplugged the mice. Still one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. But now I get this masterpiece?! You guys really find always new ways to amaze me.

I first started listening to Green Day when my mom introduced it to me, and ever since then I’ve been in love with that band. And as someone who loves and enjoys music with a passion, any cover/mashup of this song (or any) is a true masterpiece. Amazing work, Caleb. ❤️
i've noticed you opted to go for the clean version of this song. while it differs from what i am familiar with you did a spectacular job. you, as well as reinaeiry. this grade a vocal and musical goodness is what i come here for.

1 Can confirm, Epic as promised, immediately heading to my favorites playlist.
2 Extensive testing has shown 1.5 speed to be the perfect speed for those who like a little extra zest, although if you are ok with the standard sped up audio warping I fully encourage you to listen to it at higher speeds.

This song used to get me through some tough times, great cover as always my man!

I Imagine this when the final battle commences where you had choices to make, to save people that you cared about, while moving to the final battle. Everything is destroyed and burned down, the world looks like its never going to be repaired and everyone is dead - You even see everyone die for those you tried to save. The game was always a party fighter (you had always some buddys that will help you on your journey and fights) but now, it's only you against the evil that destroyed the world. A complete game changer.
"I walk an empty road, the only one that I have ever known" - Refering to the way to the final boss battle, the castle of the main character
"Don't know where it goes" - It's all destroyed and misplaced, while you need to jump through the ruins of the castle
"But it's home to me, and I walk alone" - Refering to he being alone and these rooms where his home
"I walk these empty street on the boulevard of broken dreams" - The evil was being foretold to unleash a devastating attack or ritual, where everything is gonna be destroyed. They KNEW what was coming, but couldn't stoped it (The boulevard of broken dreams refering to the dream of stopping this)
"Where the city sleeps and I'm the only one, and I walk alone" - If you walk synced to the song, you could watch outside of a destroyed wall of the castle and see the city, while everything is burning with a prompt to *look at the sleeping city* The character will say something like "This was my home... I will bring it back!"
"Sometimes, I wish someone out there will find me" - The hope of the main character that *someone* is still alive.
"'Til then, I walk alone" - Even when he is alone, he will not give up. Building up courage and strenght
"I'm walking down the line that divides me somewhere in my mind" - He's not getting used to the world being destroyed and don'T accept "the end"
"On the borderline of the edge and where I walk alone" - Again, if you walk perfectly synced with the music, you would now stand atop of a wall and can go to the edge of the wall. The character will say something like "Even when I'm alone, I will stop this madness!"
"Read between the lines whats all wrong, and everything'S alright" - Refering to the foretold story of the evil, thinking about how to stop him. Character will say something like "There has to be a way to stop him! There has to be!"
"Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive, and I walk alone" - Even tho everything around him is destroyed, he still is alive. Somehow he didn't get killed by all the madness out there.
If you would stop while this track would play and you are not going further, the song would have a only instrumental version, that would keep playing.
Once you reach the final boss a cutscene would play with the music going to the 2:50 mark and the you see the character singing this song.
And once you see a familiar female ghost figure arriving and walking next to you and singing with the main character. (maybe a relative, maybe sister or maybe even a girlfriend or something along the line)
She then draws a sword and the final battle commence with a final cutscene.
And the final boss theme would be a heavier and crazier theme of Boulevard of Broken Dreams. And if you listened closely to the battle themes AND especially the boss battle themes, you would always here some notes from "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" in them.
And by the way: This is crazy amazing. This epic version is really really cool, will check out other epic music from you.
First, this is a great cover of a great song.
Second, polish this up, don't be afraid to make changes, do some research and you could make this something pretty cool. Maybe an animatic video, a script you could post to wherever you want feedback, etc. You'll never take a step into greatness if you never move forward.
This was amazing. Seriously, American Idiot was the soundtrack to my junior year of high school, and I'm so glad you managed to do the best song on the album justice.

You yknow when I was a kid, I would listen to the original to match the scenes of death and or betrayal (fiction) in my mind, all the while writing it down. Now after hearing this... The art and song gave me an idea for my dnd campaign of a random business man and his wife who got pulled from the real world into the world my players are playing in (I incorporate music into the story sometimes) and I imagine the two of them learned to be bards having loved 90s rock and punk music and they do bard/punk rock hybrid versions of punk/rock songs
