This is how I always wanted this song to sound. Original sounds like a retired god reminiscing his younger years, but I always lacked that epicness - it was too calm for a person who “used to rule the world”. This version just fixed it, I literally have shivers ✨

It was so weird not hearing “for some reason I can’t explain, I know Saint Peter won’t call my name” but it was still absolutely amazing
I found that really weird because of all the religious connotation's that where kept in (like the roman choir and Jerusalem bells.) but for some reason St. Peter was a step to far? Also the new verse didn't rhyme. Still loved the cover though.
@@landonwyndham979 Maybe because Jerusalem is more ubiquitous and is a place name that has historic/cultural value aside from religion, while St Peter is more specific to Catholicism (and to a lesser extent Christianity)? Idk, obviously, but that was my instinct.

The "who would ever want to be king" is because the song is about the French Revolution,and the song is about King Louie who was executed at the end of the French Revolution,when he took over the throne,he realized that the monarchy was very unstable,hence "And I discovered that my castle stands upon pillars of salt and pillar of sand"
The "I know St.Peter won't call my name" is probably because he knew how much everyone hated him,before he was executed,he tried to give a speech but it was unheard because of the anger of the crowd.
I accidentally read this as Livin' La Vida Loca somehow and was really confused at the start, but THIS IS EPIC!!!! I know you probably won't read that but I just have to thank you so so much for that cover. You literally made me cry because of the meaning this song has to me. I used to dance ballet but had to quit because my feet aren't shaped for dancing in those shoes. It was tiring always having to work harder than all the others without really getting to their level, knowing I'll never get there. So I lost motivation, even felt bad after training and then I decided to quit even though I loved it and still do. This song always reminds me of the moment after our performances when all the dancers got back on stage, bowing while the people were applauding. The moment when you get paid for your work and everything felt so unreal, yet full of happiness and joy. For me it was the thing I loved most and viva la Vida always got played back then like a little ritual. So now everytime I hear this song I think about that moment and feel like I'm standing back on stage next to my friends. You manged to express my feelings some how exactly through your voice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
Wow. As a dancer, I definitely understand your point. I don't want to become a professional dancer, but I have learned that pointe is definitely not for everyone. Some people's feet definitely aren't for pointe, but it's something that some people have to give up on sometimes because its awfully dangerous. I don't know how long ago you're talking about, but I can ensure you that pointe shoes are much more personalized and compatible to different feet. Also, I definitely know what it feels like to lose motivation. I have always been in a weird age where I'm not as good as the upper group, but I am as old as them, but I'm more mature than the younger group, although some of them may have me beat. But I agree with you, this song makes me remember a time where I wasn't worried about being better than everyone and when I was just having fun.

For some reason this inspired me to watch Arcane. Maybe it was the design of the characters in this or just how amazing you sing this. So I watched it, and I cannot believe how amazing it was. Its ment to be his last speech, from a defeated king that saw his kingdom crumble.

I stumbled upon this video by pure accident, but within the first few seconds, I was hooked and watched to the very end. This is hands down one of the best pieces of music I have ever heard. I later checked out the original version by Coldplay, and as amazing as it was, I think your version is better.
