Rachel has been one of my favorite artists since I heard her version on The Last Goodbye. And I’ve been waiting to hear her version of this song! Beautifully done!!
This, is one of the most soul wrenching versions of this song I have heard. It's beautifully done, from the slow funeral-dirge esq music, to the cadence and softly mourning lyrics. It is, hands down, one of the best renditions you've ever produced.
That song Rachel is truly heartbreaking. I'm so happy to can listening to your extremely deep voice in this your new great cover.❤ I'll bee always grateful to you for your amazing work. ❤
Rachel's voice is softer than Emiliana Torrini, and I think it lends itself better here. If Emiliana's version was like a lamentation, Rachel's is like a eulogy. It's the difference between Gollum dying slowly vs already gone. Both valid, but I like this cover a lot.
This is THE BEST cover! Well done Rae! You are so incredible! also well done to Alex and Rebecca! and if yall havent yet! JOIN THE PATREON! DO IT! The fellowship needs you! ALSO THOSE ELF EARS ARE FREAKING AWESOME!
Beautiful just beautiful, peaceful singing just flys behold the clouds of imagination love ya singing.. keep making magical memories my very favorites are books an movies from the works of JRR TOLKIEN..
The musical score in these movies where wonderful they make s great addition to the actors and scenery. I think they pushed the envelope in every regard. I so enjoyed this haunting tune I played over and over. A big extended aplaude to this beautiful voice
You pick the best songs to cover. Watching you sing is like watching & listening to an angel. If I can ever think of a song perfect for your voice, I'll be sure to mention it. I just can't think of anything at the moment, because you already pick the best songs. 😊
I can't think of a single song you've done that I didn't absolutely love, but your voice lends so much power to the more haunting melodies you do. This is nothing short of perfect. Stay amazing.
What a beautiful cover, I was talking about very deep topics with a friend and I found this song and it made me think in retrospect, it's incredible how music can touch people
The amount of times I searched on your channel for this song is ridiculous. Now you have to do the Hoist the Colours as well, Rachel, from the siren's pov😊❤
Holy smokes! You have a fantastic voice, Rachel! Such a sad yet hauntingly beautiful melody. Truly an impressive performance! IMO, Emilíana Torrini would be proud to hear you sing it so well!
If you don't sing Sally's Song I will ACTUALLY lose my mind. your voice is perfect for it. this entire cover kept me thinking of that song. pleassseeeeee
I just finished watching the extended edition of the Lord of the Rings trilogy a few days ago! Your timing couldn't have been more perfect! Well done, Rachel! 😁
When i saw the thumbnail I went “Oh HELL YEAH!” Then I went ahead and pressed like before I heard her sing one single note because there is NO WAY this won’t be amazing!
One of my favorite pieces. You did more than do justice to this song, you made a different, and equally enjoyable version that I am able to close my eyes and get lost in the music to. So well done
Such a beautiful cover as always Rachel! I love how much feeling you put into this - the transitions between calm melancholy and a more agitated sadness. So lovely! ❤
Once upon a time, I was very fortunate to sing in a project choir, who sang all the singing parts live + an orchestra was playing the music score live while the movie was running. The coolest project ever!!! Singing in elvish was really special 😍😍😍 Ur beautiful version of this song took me back to this wonderful time 😍😍😍 thx so much!!! Btw, the elvish ear piece is just as beautiful as u and ur voice 😍😍😍
This was the song featured in the trilogy which resonated most strongly with me. Loss is the human experience. In time, all is lost. How we deal with that shapes our character. Like Poe said, "So being young & dipped in folly, I fell in love with melancholy."
HOLY HECK, this was genuinely amazing! Not only your wonderful voice and tone, but the choice of makeup and lighting worked together to make it all so... beautifully haunting. And the water droplets at the end tied it all together perfectly. AUGHH ITS SO GOOD
Gollum's song is so deep and it reminds me of another video on RUclips which used this very music for the fall of Anakin Skywalker (Vader) as it played after Obiwan defeated Anakin.
Yet another fantastic cover, it is just hauntingly beautiful! If I say that you did the original justice, this is about the biggest compliment I could give.❤ It is so rare to see a musician who consistently delivers both vocally and emotionally!
Wow, haunting, and yet tragic. Awesome voice and song all the way! i'd bet that if you played this back to yourself, you had to of been amazed by the level of energy you put into this.
As great of a singer you are, I have to say, I like your repertoire even as much. Many people take their stab at fantasy song covers, but few stick with them. Cheers.
This is sooooo good!! Amazing performance and wonderful production from beginning to end. Your voice is so beautiful and so haunting. Thanks for your courage and patience.
Love this cover. I play it at my dance events, and people love dancing to it as well. This was the first song of yours that I heard. I've heard many more since :)

The song made the end of the second film great.
Thanks Rachel!

This is better than second breakfast! Well done everyone 👏
And even better! Listen to it while eating second breakfast!
Gonna do exactly that now.
Well now, I don’t know about THAT, Stu. *stuffs two muffins into mouth*

The orchestral arrangements are brilliant!
Alex killed it with the re-score!

Rachel has been one of my favorite artists since I heard her version on The Last Goodbye. And I’ve been waiting to hear her version of this song! Beautifully done!!
Thank you for watching and for the support :)
The somber charm of this song was completely lost on me when I was a kid. No longer. Beautifully done.
I felt what Gollum thinking and feeling so deep, poor creature
Gollum kill his Friend IS a criminel
@@-et7yg I still pity him :(
@@20ecupirate13 i dont see how people can pity him, he wasnt a good person. In fact he was pretty selfish, cruel and kinda evil.
@@MrFlaten92 that's why.
@@-et7yg yep, he was a horrible person, he killed most of innocent goblins, orcs and his best fishfriend. Sad for goblins
Heartbreaking. When this song playing at the end of The Two Towers it brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful, but so sad.
This, is one of the most soul wrenching versions of this song I have heard. It's beautifully done, from the slow funeral-dirge esq music, to the cadence and softly mourning lyrics. It is, hands down, one of the best renditions you've ever produced.
A wonderful and very touching song! Your amazing voice makes even Gollum look like a tragic hero.
The hero he could’ve been!
this song was so good! "My precious... Gollum approves of this masterpiece, yes... yesss.. GOLLUM! GOLLUM!"
That song Rachel is truly heartbreaking. I'm so happy to can listening to your extremely deep voice in this your new great cover.❤

Can't do it justice, eh? Let me tell you, that's you at your absolute freaking best. Love it, great job.
Thank you Alezzar
You have just the voice for this song. A hauntingly beautiful piece, Rachel.
Rachel's voice is softer than Emiliana Torrini, and I think it lends itself better here. If Emiliana's version was like a lamentation, Rachel's is like a eulogy. It's the difference between Gollum dying slowly vs already gone. Both valid, but I like this cover a lot.
That’s a cool take!
I specifically looked at the original to make sure how accurately you noticed.

A comment of appreciation for the superb enunciation of the lyrics. I heard the words for the first time in this version.

Rachel Hardy, I need to buy your recordings.

This is my favourite song from TLOTR. Excellent vocals Rachel.
This is so beautiful and touching 🤩
amazing song rachel, so beautifully sung, amazing voice :)
This song is haunting, like poor Golem’s sad, lonely life.😢
Smeagol! Gollum is just some cursed title those who do not know him use. Smeagol!
Yes. His true name is Sméagol. He transformed into the state of Gollum. So sad and tragic.
