    You should do a video between gelatin vs collagen. I've been wondering the difference since gelatin is much cheaper than collagen. They have the same amino acid profile.

    • @SiimLand
      @SiimLand  Месяц назад

      Not completely the same. But the peptide structure is different than gelatin

    • @mikeong80
      @mikeong80 Месяц назад

      I guess you are referring to hydrolyzed collagen peptides that is available in the supplement market? Gelatin is the cooked/boiled version while the other is extracted via chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis into smaller amino acids for easier digestion. More work = higher cost.

    @SiimLand Have you ever heard of the book "Methusala's Children" or "Time enough for love" with the character Lazerus Long?
    It's a sci-fi book, but the way they cracked the code to longevity in this book written in the 1941 was there was a benefactor who created a database for people to enter in their parents death age. Anyone with two parents over the age of 100 could marry anyone else in the database with the same results. In the book it worked really well, and these people's offspring were living to175-200 regularly, but one character, Lazerus Long, lives to be 2000 something and counting by the end.
    Time enough for love is one of my favorite books of all time.

    What biomarker checking service does Siim use?

  • @iamkamsai
    @iamkamsai Месяц назад +1

    Its not easy to get extra blood bio markers checked since the doctors only want to give you the standard basic ones only, they almost always say you don't need it.

    • @GraftonPrimaryvideo
      @GraftonPrimaryvideo Месяц назад

      Hence order your own tests with an online blood testing service and order whatever you want and get the results straight to you. No way would I want a doctor to order the amount of tests I get. Insidetracker is a great service for this

    Previous time I commented about the question of whether to calculate RHR during sleep or resting state during the day, and you said yours is in 40s both at night and day - is that common? Because my RHR during sleep is mid 40s, but when sitting during the day it's always above 60. So it's unclear what to make of this.
    Also, it's really annoying that Apple Watch uses a different HRV unit than the most common one.

    • @SiimLand
      @SiimLand  Месяц назад +1

      I think you need to be sitting quietly for a few minutes to establish the resting heart rate. Also, if you had caffeine in the day that would increase the number

    Resting heart rate means just sitting still right? If so, then mine is between 50/60.. i guess with a bit more cardio that could be even lower i hope!

    Very interesting. So if my RHR is 53 and my bodyfat already is in ideal range, I want to get a bit leaner to get under 50? What is the ideal bodyfat % by age and sex btw? There are several tables on the internet but what do the studies say?

      Resting heart rate is also in the 40s when you are in your adolescent years. But you also have high HRV. So, low resting heart rate together with high HRV is the key
