- In this video we're listening to UFO once more. We had forgotten during the video that we had checked them out before with their song, Belladonna, so we're going to go back and listen to that again. We're always excited to hear some good prog rock on this channel, so, here we go! Enjoy!

One of the greatest bands live ever, i've seen them perforn live over 20 times from 1972 up to the present day most underrated bands ever.... You must listen to the live version of this..

This song was written around the final guitar solo, it's why the song exists.
UFO were an astonishingly great band...their rabbit hole is one you have to delve into....so many classics to choose from,so many great musicians passed through them....notably Michael Schenker.....saw them a few times and they were brilliant live....check out "Rock Bottom" from their " Strangers in the Night" live album to hear what i mean......great choice of song and cool reaction. I wouldnt say they were a prog band!! More an out and out rock n roll band🎸

UFO is great. my second favorite band behind Thin Lizzy. The live album "Strangers in the night" is the way to go for the best versions of their classic songs. even this one. The album is considered one of the best live rock albums ever recorded.
Ha, I love Lizzy to bits. Saw them '83 as a teen and I was sucked in. Them and UFO, the not quite good enough bands, for the yanks?

The intro to this is a link from the previous track on the album Electric Phase. This a track full of multi layered guitars and the two should really be played together. In fact you can't go wrong with the entire Lights Out album. Great melodic hard rock.
I recently read that when producer Ron Nevison played the finished album to the record company executives they gave him a standing ovation.

The version from their double live album Strangers In The Night is better I think. In fact, the whole album is great.

A classic rock song that everyone should know. Michael Schenker was probably the most important European rock guitar player of the 1970's apart from Ritchie Blackmore. A lot of guitar players from the following decade owe him a debt, most notably Randy Rhoads.
For a rocker of their’s you can’t go wrong with “Doctor, Doctor.” Thanks for getting into this underrated band!

I love all of their songs, but the piano on this song reminds me of the Halloween theme song. Great, I love it.
UFO 🛸 were pretty dependable for quality in the 70's. This track , from Lights Out is a prime example. Nice guitar 🎸.

A pioneer band of the hard rock we all love, they influenced every heavy band that came after them in the 70s and 80s. They had the great fortune of getting Michael Schenker on brilliant guitar from the Scorpions in 1973 and adding Paul Raymond from Savoy Brown, on keyboards/guitar, made them a super group and they had a string of 5 super albums in the 70s before Michael left to form MSG. UFO replaced Michael with another fine guitarist in Paul Chapman for 4 more great albums going into the mid 80s. They are well worth checking out, they are a classic hard rock/metal hybrid that also have affecting ballads with incredible guitar accents. Try Lights Out from their amazing double live album, Strangers In the Night. Killer song and album, it is a masterpiece in overdrive, live. They have dozens of great songs, I envy you guys, I lived when they had it going and saw them 5 times, one of the best acts most people don't know. It opens your eyes and ears when you find out how great they were. Reactors are starting to find them, they could be an unexpected big hit in this century. Now that's a great comment. Schenker made them a hard rock band. Tonka carried the flame but you forgot Vinnie Moore. great guitarist just as underrated as Michael
The studio version is good, but the live version from the "Stangers In The Night" album blows it away! That album is largely considered one of the best live albums ever produced. You should definitely check it out!

Michael Schenker is the Kendall quitar here. He started at a very young age with The Scorpions, then UFO and eventually his own band, The Mixhael Schenker Group still touring. One of the most underrated guitarists of all time. Master of the Flying V. Check out The Michael Schenger Group (MSG) - Courvoisier Concerto/Lost Horizons Live or Live in Japan 2010.

I once saw them on a bad gig (singer upset by radio interference) but they absolutely nailed this one. Probably the best song of their career.

This has been one of my favorite songs of all time since it came out. The guitar solo that closes out this song is considered one of the best of all time. You should do their song Profession Of Violence. It’s just a beautiful song. Michael Schenker closes out that song with a beautiful 2 minute solo.
Michael Schenker was definitely the backbone of the band. Their first two albums I believe it was came out in the late 60’s-early 70’s and was just weird spacey stuff. Then they held auditions for a new guitarist and Michael who was from Germany went to England to audition and they were an entirely different band with him. Michael Schenker had previously been playing with his brother Rudolf in the Scorpions. He still played on some of the Scorpions albums, Love Drive in particular which is my favorite Scorpions album. Oh, and the song “Is There Anybody There” from that album is probably my favorite Scorpions song. It’s very unique with amazing lyrics.
We haven't done The Scorpions yet. They have some hits in Canada, for sure. Especially in the 80's.
@@hanierfamily I guess I didn’t know you were from Canada. One of my favorite songs is from a band from Canada, Teaze. Their song “Touch The Wind” is epic! Many of my favorite songs were from bands that never really made it “big”! I wish someone would do reactions and analysis to some of those songs. They are some of the best. Do a “Deep Cuts” or something playlist and expose “new music” to your followers. My favorite thing to do was to discover new bands and turn my friends on to them. Have you done any Aldo Nova? Also, another favorite Canada band of mine is Prism. It was sad when Ron Tabak passed away but some of my favorite songs were with Henry Small like “Don’t Let Him Know”, “Wings Of Your Love”, “I Don’t Want To Want You Anymore”. Also the song off of the Jericho album, “Way Of The World”, with Darcy Deutsch on vocals is excellent. Bryan Adams got his start working with Prism. Oh, and another very favorite band of mine is, Red Rider/Tom Cochrane. “Crack The Sky (Breakaway)” from Neruda is awesome. Tom’s solo stuff is great, well except for “Life Is A Highway” 🙂. “I Wish You Well”, “Sinking Like A Sunset”, “Good Man, Feeling Bad”, and the entire acoustic album Songs Of A Circling Spirit is a “must have” album. The song “White Horse”, KILLER!
I agree but you have to put him together with Phil Mogg. Michael is so underrated but so is UFO

Sad to say ,but every track of the live-album Strangers In The Night beats every studio-version. Love To Love of The Strangers is much more heavier and full.Michael Schenker at his best.Never better.
Except for Rock Bottom in my opinion.

Just thought of another one for your Canada Playlist. The Jeff Cannata band Arc Angel. They came out in 1983 just as I met my wife to be. The song Tragedy was our song, but in the world we are living in today, King Of the Mountain might be a better choice to analyze and react to. It’s about unrest and war and the possibility of nuclear war. This was the during the Cold War which appears to be back. I’ll let you decide which song to do. 😂 Jeff Cannata released another couple or so albums in 2002 and 2013 under the Arc Angel banner.
