MS is probably the most famous guitarist you've never heard of. He was very influential to the guys in Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Megadeth. His influence on late 70's and 80's hard rock guitar is immense.
Michael is the best ever! The UFO song “Rock Bottom” from UFO’s Strangers In The Night live album has what many consider the best guitar solo ever. He actually plays ALL guitars for the band. “Love To Love” from their Lights Out album is one of my favorites. This song was decades before the band Muse.
I saw Schenker open for Cheap Trick in 1979, after he played it was so incredible because he played music from three different groups, UFO,Scorpions and The Michael Schenker group and when he was done the Spokane Coliseum thought they had seen a three band concert so security got to the doors saying hey you have one more group to hear!
MSG was incredible. As amazing as Cozy Powell was, the unbelievable Simon Phillips masterfully played the drums on the studio version. Michael Schenker is one of the all time greats. If you enjoyed this, you should check out UFOs live album (yes, the entire album) Strangers in the Night. It’s regarded by many to be one of the greatest live albums of all time. When you listen to this album, you’ll understand why Michael Schenker is so important.
After Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker was probably the most important and influential European rock guitar player of the 1970's. A sense of melody that pointed the way towards the Neo-Classical players of the next decade. Randy Rhoads was one borrowed quite heavily from him. This was a great band that unfortunately fell apart quite quickly, a combination of some big personalities and Michael Schenker's own problems. MSG Live at Budokan is a very good representation of the band at full power, as is the video this performance is taken from.
glad ya got turned on to Michael Schenker Group i saw Michael in concert with UFO and MSG he is a Legend check out the Scorpions Lonesome Crow Album Michael was 16 years old he is an Amazing guitar player 🤘🤘

As an avid fan of the lead guitar, Schenker is my favorite guitarist ever. A great, underrated band!
Killer song !! saw this live when the album came out . !!
Paul Raymond, RIP, on keyboards and rhythm guitar was in UFO with Michael.

That whole Rockpalast show is awesome. Gary Barden still had his voice, and Schenker was on fire. Best live version of Rock Bottom ever.
Schenker and Gary Moore are goats with different styles. My two favorite players.
My two favourite guitarists as well, though very different.
Those two and Blackmore are my Top 3.
Studio version is always the best. Check out Captain Nemo, Lost Horizon, Victim of Illusion by Micheal Schenker.
Michael is King
Attack of the Mad Axeman - MSG another great one.
Checkout UFO live album called Strangers In The Night he's fantastic on that album
Le meilleur live du monde 🤘🤘🤘🤘❤

MS was never mentioned by Rhoads. He was his own master.
Saw UFO in 1978 in Fayetteville, NC. Shenker was an animal. They opened for Molly Hatchet. Raised the roof that night.🤪
The Schenker bros are 🎸 gods.
