Sir, first of all I want to say that you are an excellent teacher. Your instructions are clear, concise, and to the point without any wasted time and extraneous fluff. Second; because you have a British accent I just KNOW that everything you say has absolute authority and truth attached to it.
I saw a slight variation of this where, if you have 3 spectators, you can ask each of them to pick out their favorite card to start the trick. Other than that the rest of the trick is the same.
@@alidasoo6654 Agreed. One of the problem with 3 of a kind is that the spectator may not recall which suit they did not choose. That is unlikely to happen with three spectators each of whom only has to remember one card.
This is such a fun trick and such great pointers on counting the cards by pushing over three at a time like that. This tip will help me polish this up! Thanks! One thing I have always done is once I gather all the piles up, I push off the top 4 cards and place them on the bottom. That mathematically some how fixes the need to have to switch to face down first halfway through the trick so you can just always do face up first. Also I prefer to do this one with 3 participants and the cards they pick can be pulled randomly or I do like to ask to have them each just pull out one they can easily remember as I fan the cards face up towards them and push through cards. When I’m down to the last 3 cards I say something like “interesting, just 3 left, what if I could now hand each of you your chosen card back to you face down?” The top card of the pile of 3 will always be the last person that went. The 2nd is the 2nd and the last card goes back to first person. This math blows my mind. Not about understanding how it works but simply being able to preform it right! Hope these thoughts help. Cheers!
Very deceptive and clever, I love the way it looks like you’re placing cards in random places but they’re still 10, 15, and 15 apart with 9 on top. I don’t know who created the original routine but it ingenious thinking. Thanks for sharing Oscar. Love your channel and the way you present yourself. Well done my friend. 👍😊👍

I'm always skeptical when I see videos like this but I learned this in quite literally a few minutes. As soon as the video was over, I showed it to my parents and they were stunned!
I learned this trick literally by the end of this video. I have being learning magic since October 2022 and I know at least 10 tricks and every trick has been mastered by me because of Oscar. Oscar is one of the best teachers in the world! I have taken magic classes but I couldn't learn anything, I came home disappointed because none of the tricks would work, but after learning from Oscar on youtube, I have become a master at my tricks.
I think many people might say "STOP" upon seeing the 4th Ace -- just out of reaction (especially if you're dealing fast)... which might lessen the effect (as the effect is heightened when everyone thinks the magician doesn't know what the selected cards were). I think it might be a better idea for them to pull all FOUR of a value, insert three of them as described in the video, and then "hold onto the final card, so they don't forget what the value is". The 4th card could simply be eliminated from the 4th pile of 9, which now becomes the 4th pile of 8 cards. You might have to start the alternating card deal with a face-down card instead of starting with a face-up card, and possibly have to switch up the dealing pattern again... but I think it would be worth it in the end, as there would be no risk of the person accidentally identifying the 4th card in the deal and it would also serve as proof to other spectators who might not have seen the original selection (which also means you can ask the person to not let ANYONE see their selections to add to the mystery). As always, Oscar -- another wonderful video. Thanks for the years of fun and education.
Same concern. I was having the spectator hold the 4th of a kind and subbing a joker into the deck. Better alternative: Spectator holds the 4th of a kind. 1st pile has only 9 cards instead of 10. The 2nd, 3rd & and 4th piles follow the tutorial(15, 15, 9). When dealing through the deck: 1st pass start face up, 2nd pass start face down, 3rd pass start face down, 4th pass start face up. 3 of a kind remain face down at the end.
I had always wanted to learn a mind blowing no setup card trick and I couldn't find any good tutorials until I came across this one. Thanks a lot Oscar! You're seriously the best teacher in the world!!!
Not sure why but whenever I cut the deck after placing all packets on top of each other the chosen cards are dealt into the wrong pile and ruins the trick. However if I do not cut the deck it works fine.
I'm sure he's giving an example of a very specific type of "shuffle" at that point. Basically, not shuffling it at all. Likely using finger breaks to make sure that the cards end up exactly as they were after the piles are put together. Not sure exactly. 🤷♂
@@OfficialInternetHaterGoogle up false Shuffle. It shuffles the deck without changing the order of card positions, giving the illusion of you having shuffled the cards
I agree with the comments saying to remove the 4th like card and use a joker. Most of us here would be fine as a spectator for this one, but the lay person is going to say stop when they see their selected card even with the wrong suit, especially if you’re moving things along at a decent pace. Then it’s awkward because they’ve revealed their choice, something completely unnecessary and it takes away from the trick. It’s far cooler if their selection is removed entirely
I came up with a variation on this, that allows you to do 4 of a kind in the exact same fashion. You have the spectator pick out any 4 of a kind (instead of 3). Then sperate the remaining cards as before with two small changes: I make 5 piles, and the last pile is just the top card from the 4th pile (pervious it would have 9 cards but now would be 8 because the spectator has an extra card in their hand.), so now I have 5 piles: 10, 15, 15, 7, 1. Now continue as before, having the spectator place a card onto a pile, and taking any amount from the next pile and placing it on top. When the spectator gets to the 4th pile, I joke well, I guess we'll just put the one on top. Then continue the trick exactly as before. Now, the very last card to flip up will be the 4th Ace. (because the second card in the 4th pile will always be the last card to be flipped face up at the end of the trick)
Hi there, thank you for your great tricks. I did try this one as per your directions and found that I had to 'deal' up down, then up down, then down up, and finally up down. I am surprised that nobody spotted this. It's a phase issue - we have to get those cards in our chosen pile. Flipping the up down sequence sets things in order. Maybe your 'cut' set in the video set things out of kilter. Nonetheless, it's a great trick - I love these self working tricks: they are all logical and arithmetic.
Whew...i thought I was the ONLY one that had a problem...I did the trick 4 TIMES and it DID NOT WORK AS SHOWN. Let me give your sequence a go and see what happens.
These self working magic trix are amazing. A nice addition would be learning a true shuffle that doesnt affect the trick. Ppl always ask why didnt suffle.
Get him/her to choose 3 RANDOM cards and have them write them down. While they're doing this you have ample time to make the four piles with a bit of verbals thrown in.
I really like this trick and is very well explained! What would the difference with only 48 cards be? Lots of folks I know normally only have a deck of Binokel cards at home and they only have 48 cards. Is the trick still doable?
I've seen this trick in a video of the great magician Brian Brushwood, but I've forgotten how it was done,so it was a revision for me,but I like trick, thanks Oscar!❤️
You can also do this trick with 3 spectators and 3 different cards. It doesn't need to be a 3 if a kind. Some might see the 4th of the card and get confused.
OK...I've no doubt that it works in practice...but I don't quite get the mechanism: if you can allow them to cut a random number of cards when putting the chosen three onto the piles, and then you can shuffle the deck once it's assembled before you start dealing, how can you be certain the chosen three cards will not end up in the face-up pile?
OK so the 2nd pile is 15 cards. The spectator's 1st chosen card is on top of pile 1. Spectattor cuts pile 2 and puts them on top of pile 1. Say they pick 7, so there are now 7 cards on top of their 1st chosen card. 2nd chosen card goes on top of the remainder of pile 2 - 8 cards. That pile goes on top of pile 1. So now we have 10 cards, spectator's 1st card, 7 from pile 2, followed by the remainder of pile 2, then the spectator's 2nd card. The same goes for pile 3. The shuffle is a 'false shuffle'. It's like cutting the cards then putting them back where try came from.
Ah...OK, thanks for that. I imagined the thing about the sizes of the piles would be something along those lines - the numbers would combine in the right way regardless of what you did to them - I just hadn't thought through it fully. It was the shuffle that really got me though - and made me question the nature of the pile stacking too - as I misheard the shuffle as being "full" rather than "false" (as it's "fawlse" in his accent). So it seemed like he was suggesting you could shuffle it as much as you like, and that just didn't make any sense. Now I know what I'm listening for and what the implication of it is, it all works. Thanks again.
oh my god thank you Oscar! i didnt know how to do it at first, but with practise and your teaching,i finally did it!! thanks oscar owen (i have a friend named owen too)
To add to this if you ask them to bring out four cards and place the fourth card on the first pile of 9 into the 2nd position from the top and when you transfer a random amount of cards, if you ask the spectator to pick a number between 1-6 and then you transfer the next making a combo of 8, so if they choose 5 cards to transfer you would choose 3 cards and then finish the trick the same way, the last card on the face up pile would be the Ace or the fourth card ☺️
I just commented the same variation. Of course someone else thought of it already =) I make a fifth pile of just one card, and when they get to it, I joke, 'well, lets just put the one card on it', putting it into position 2.
Great trick! It be good to do for three people have them each select a random card, or you could even do a little story making the cards meet back up or something
I had a book of really good card tricks as a kid, always fooled my family! but most were stacked decks. This worked for me! cool! i didnt try cutting the deck though, i'll try that next!
Keep screwing it up whenever I try and add the cut the cards step after putting the deck back together. Should it be some kind of false cut that looks great but doesn’t move any cards or is it meant to be a regular, no magic involved cut? Thx guys, just trying to impress my other half with my amazing magic skills lol
Me too ! I understan the theory behind this - ie placing the cards at specific places but me cutting the deck once or twice usually ends in failure . Pointers please ?
@5:59, after you reassemble the 4 piles back into the deck you shuffle the deck again. I'm missing how you would keep the count straight at this point.
he's doing what's called a false shuffle, it's a way to make it look like you're shuffling the deck but the order of the cards don't change. there are plenty of vids on here that can show you how to do it and there are different variations.
Great video Oscar, thanks to your video I learned many card tricks!! I have a question about the type of cards you use: I have the same deck JUMBO (bicycle), they are pretty good but not very thick. In your opinion, what's the difference with the Standard model that you use in other videos? Is the thickness the same? Thanks a lot!!
my first trick i learned! thx a lot it impressed my friends a lot. of course they asked how i did this and i just said: its magic ! thank you oscar ! :) checking out other videos from you soon :) i like tricks without gimmicks
If the audience places the cards back into the 4 sections and you put the deck back together… the cards are then all lined up for the trick? But surely if you then shuffle after this (as he does) doesn’t that disturb the card orders?
But how do you get the other guy to put the cards into the correct spot in each of the three piles? It's going to depend on how many cards he cuts from the next pile
You may answer this or you may not. I have a Bicycle Green Rider Back deck of cards and it comes with double backer card, a blank card and a green back and on the other side it's a hot pink color on one card. What kind of card trick can you/I do with this green & pink card?
At the 6:00 mark he says you can "shuffle" (tabled running cut) and the trick still works. That is not the case; not always anyway. More often then not, I turn over one of the spectators cards in pile 2 or 3 when doing this.
I have just watched your excellent vid again. You do perform exactly as I attest. On the third deal, you switch direction of the deal. Goddit. I hope that helps other fans.
Love your channel thank you! I can do this trick problem free unless I shuffle the deck at the point you show us. Then it’s always messed up. What’s wrong?
He does what’s called a fool shuffle, that’s where he cuts the deck and then cuts the other exact half so nothing changed but it looks like he shuffled, hope this helped
Whenever I don't shuffle the cards after the 3 of kind have been placed in the trick works fine, however when I do shuffle the cards after the three of a kind have been placed in the trick no longer works. Does anyone know why this might be? I know he said that you don't have to shuffle the cards but I prefer doing that as to me it makes the trick look more convincing
So I am aaaaaaaa big fan of your style and your style so far I love it so much and I’m so excited to share your work on my channel 🤗I will tell my fans to go to your website thank u for the magic 😊
A cool variation is with your back turned, to have the spec remove any 4 of a kind. Have them sit on any one of the four and do the trick as Owen explained. Spec reveals the single card as you turn over the 3 matching cards. (You must include a single joker in the deck for it to work out).😊
I was just practicing this (with kings) and was puzzled when the 4th king appeared. I realized I wasn’t paying attention to the suits. So it might be smart to have the spectator to take all 4 (and put one joker in) and the spectator puts the 4th card face down on the table. Or if It’s a kid, replace one of the aces with a joker and tell them to pull out 3 aces. (The trick is good even if you know the card.)
This is exactly how I do it. It makes for a great reveal at the end as you first have them turn over the single held back card, then the three remaining matching cards.
i was at first mad bc this didnt work this took me maybe a bit over 30 mins maybe even more, but now ive learned it and its such a cool trick thanks man !

Thanks so much. There is a battle of magic trick info between my 7 & 11 year old boys at the moment. This one is a new one to blow the socks of Féfé's big bro. We still don't get it 'at all', but love it. Thanks!
That's pretty clever. If you note the bottom card of the deck, you can have the spectators genuinely give the deck straight cuts. Then run the cards and cut your noted card back to the bottom, perhaps with a turnover pass. Very fair.
Another possible way to count face-up first each time is to cut a card from the bottom to the top before the third deal. I would do this by picking up the combined pile and "accidentally" leaving one card behind, then noticing that and putting the card you left behind on the top.
I rechecked this. You need to cut a card from the top to the bottom, or do second switch for the last count-down. This still seems better than changing the procedure for the third count.
I don't understand after you lost the aces in the deck and you put all the cards together, you did a few cuts. You didn't mention them on your explanation. It would seem that that would have to have an outcome on the tricky. Please explain. Is the trick looks awesome.
When The spectator can take cards from one packet and put it on to the other packet can they take the full packet and put it on top of the other one and then when they put their selected card down it goes into the empty space where the packet was? Or does that mess the trick up
I know this trick works. Because I learned it a long time ago. And I've used it many times however, I have no idea how it works. Do you know how this works?
So I've tried this trick a few times and it does not work all of the time. The step where the spectator would cut as many cards as they want to put on top of the pile is a bit tricky. You're assuming that they are going to put a lot of cards on top, but what if they don't? I tried it by just putting one card on top and then two cards, neither times did it work. Not a good trick. Thank you for sharing though.

How many cards are in the pile of four before the three selected are placed on top?
Great trick! It be good to do for three people have them each select a random card, or you could even do a little story making the cards meet back up or something
Any chance the shuffling at 6:00 could ruin the trick? How does that work?
It's a false shuffling ;)
my son just tried this. nailed it. thanks!
I don't get it. When the spectator can add a chosen number of cards on top of the ace, the order will get lost, I would think. Why does it work?
I just had this exact thought…. As I followed along at had it work lol
The principle behind is fantastic and can be used for many variant!! Thanks!
I had a book of really good card tricks as a kid, always fooled my family! but most were stacked decks. This worked for me! cool! i didnt try cutting the deck though, i'll try that next!
Thank you 👍. These trick are so much fun 🙂
So easy to learn. I learned in no time flat.
Thanks for the magic trick it worked
I did this to my mom and she said it was very interesting! Thank you! :)
Damn that’s a pretty underwheming response ngl 🤣🤣
@@BigSplenda1885 lol
This is amazing I've learned a lot from you thanks so much keep up the great work ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations! You’re almost at 100k!
Pointers please ?
yes it's a false cut
I LOVE MATH MAGIC!!!
One of the most impressive simple tricks I've ever seen.
Wow that is amazing thank you oscar for this trick
@5:59, after you reassemble the 4 piles back into the deck you shuffle the deck again. I'm missing how you would keep the count straight at this point.
Me too
he's doing what's called a false shuffle, it's a way to make it look like you're shuffling the deck but the order of the cards don't change. there are plenty of vids on here that can show you how to do it and there are different variations.
:) checking out other videos from you soon :) i like tricks without gimmicks
it doesn't work for me :(
is there something I'm missing
cause I didn't shuffle the piles after stacking them
nvm just have to take out the jokers
If the audience places the cards back into the 4 sections and you put the deck back together… the cards are then all lined up for the trick? But surely if you then shuffle after this (as he does) doesn’t that disturb the card orders?
Guys when I do it, sometimes I leave the 3 cards facing up, and it always works for me then, but if I turn them face down, it never works! 😂😢
I love when he says "the spectator is fooled" XD we got fooled we get it
But how do you get the other guy to put the cards into the correct spot in each of the three piles? It's going to depend on how many cards he cuts from the next pile
Amazing trick. I'm all over this 😁
I have followed your channel for a very long time thanks for teaching me this trick to add to my collection of card tricks
awesome, it is great and has no sneaky moves.
Great tutorial Oscar. Thank you so much for sharing. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for bringing awareness to Insayne Lane
I have just watched your excellent vid again. You do perform exactly as I attest. On the third deal, you switch direction of the deal. Goddit. I hope that helps other fans.
I understand this is about position in the deck- SO, how can it work if you "shuffle" after you collect the piles?
Did you understand
The best magician is back !!!!!
I think he said "false shuffle"
So I am aaaaaaaa big fan of your style and your style so far I love it so much and I’m so excited to share your work on my channel 🤗I will tell my fans to go to your website thank u for the magic 😊
I have no idea how this works but it DOES and it is easy and fun. Thanks!!!
Or if
It’s a kid, replace one of the aces with a joker and tell them to pull out 3 aces.
Great video! What's the name of this trick?
If they are cutting as many cards as they want how is it going in thoose specific spots? 5:30
OK so the 2nd pile is 15 cards. Tthe spectator's 1st chosen card is on top of pile 1.
Thanks so much. There is a battle of magic trick info between my 7 & 11 year old boys at the moment. This one is a new one to blow the socks of Féfé's big bro. We still don't get it 'at all', but love it. Thanks!
This Was amazing! Totally awesome. The best magician do the tricks!
Can you please tell me how manny card you used? Did you use jokers? Thankyou
I think I messed up
That's pretty clever. If you note the bottom card of the deck, you can have the spectators genuinely give the deck straight cuts. Then run the cards and cut your noted card back to the bottom, perhaps with a turnover pass. Very fair.
You are a legendary magical artist
Another possible way to count face-up first each time is to cut a card from the bottom to the top before the third deal. I would do this by picking up the combined pile and "accidentally" leaving one card behind, then noticing that and putting the card you left behind on the top.
I rechecked this. You need to cut a card from the top to the bottom, or do second switch for the last count-down. This still seems better than changing the procedure for the third count.
This is legendary. I used this trick for audition for my final primary party. Great stuff man.
Great presentation and great trick. Thanks
How are you still gonna get those 3 cards in the specific position if it's shuffled? 6:00
It's a fake / pretend shuffle trick
He doesn't really shuffle the cards
Wow! That’s very cool!
Nice trick. Works great. Thanks.
Brian brushwood did this trick, is a good effect
Love this trick. If you deal 14-15-15-8 then you don't need to switch how you deal half way thru though
Brilliant, thanks for tossing these numbers in the comments! 👍🏻
That equals 52 tho so where would they pick their cards?
@@rickt9569 ikr lmao
This is awesome. I do 2s instead of 3s so it is easier to keep track of
Such a great job at doing magic
From where did you get the background music? That's very good
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for sharing though.
great magic tricks! Keep doing them

at 6:00 did you say a “false shuffle” or did you say “full shuffle” ? it was hard for me to understand
Omg its so amazing and so easy.
I do it exactly like you do in the video but I always see the aces, would you happen to know why?
Awesome trick thanks 🙏
Hey. Great vid. What is the shuffle though? Thanks
