It still impresses me that we got 3 books that are all incredible for completely different reasons with completely different characters. Each book’s story could be a series on its own, the show is packed with amazing ideas and the fantastic character writing to back it up. Just extremely tight stories that hit hard and fast and leave a long lasting impression. I will be SO upset if we never see more.
I love how each season so far has led into each other, its why im excited and hoping for season 4, I want to see what's become of hazel and ameilia or maybe we'll see the former apex helping people and deneziens

Honestly, if anything this is the age of rebirths: Young Justice and Tuca & Bertie, just off the top of my head, came back after they were cancelled. It'll be horrible if we don't get more, just from the sheer quality of it, but at least S3 wasn't open-ended.
Lucifer also came back thanks to petitioning, and some other networks are trying to buy the Venture Bro's so that they can come back to. Certainly is a great era to be uncancelled.

The concept for both is about changing people for the better. Both shows is about the belief anyone should have a chance to redeem themselves.
I made a post about how Jesse came back to the train at Tumblr and I'm too lazy to write it again so copy-paste time! For the problem to get big enough to involve the train, people should do or cause something they would never wanted to, like a last straw. And it just adds up! Tulip? Running away. Amelia? Almost attempting suicide. Jesse? Letting a loved one get hurt. Grace? Stealing. (Feel free to correct me on that one I haven't rewatched season 3 in a while) And you might ask how Jesse came back to the train. Well; His problem wasn't solved yet. Jesse's problem was that he ignored or accepted wrong or unfair things that he actually disagreed with, to solve this problem he needed to learn how to stood up for himself and others. And he did learn that which means his problem is solved right? Not exactly... The fact that Lake wasn't seen as a real person and wasn't allowed to leave the train was unfair, it was wrong and Jesse disagreed with it. Which means ignoring the stuation not only would be a problem but it would also hurt someone Jesse loved which is why he ended up in the train at the first place. He needed to save Lake in order to get his number to zero but Lake wasn't a passenger so she wasn't allowed to leave the train and that started a loop and bla bla bla we all know what happened next.
Grace and Simon were pretty cool. I imagine if they wanted to redeem Simon they could have had Grace hug him and say “Because I love you” (and then kiss him and both their numbers go down) when he asked her why she saved him... opposed to her saying I don’t know. I’m getting off topic. Either way. Lake and Jesse are cute. I ship them, but I think they’re better as friends for now. Simon and Grace are where it’s at

...for the swim stroke thing when jessy started swimming he was actually doing butterfly and then switched to free style. This is a common tactic when open water swimming becomes you can easily spot where you are swimming to with butterfly and free style is the fastest/most sustainable stroke.

We all assumed that he was a football player, cause no swim team has enough funds for personal jackets (yes, I speak from experience) and 2, at 5:29 that’s not breaststroke, it’s butterfly (the one that most swimmers hate😭)
5:33 that’s the butterfly stroke, not breaststroke. Butterfly is really hard and I’ve been on swim teams where only a handful (or only 1) do it bc it’s so physically taxing. Breaststroke is a lot easier and no one really is forced into that one for swim meets (more often people are specifically asking for it).
Personally, MT/Lake didn’t earn her redemption that Tulip and S3’s protagonist did. I like that she’s morally gray, but I don’t like that she was just rewarded but hardly learned shit/grew. She grows to care about Jesse and Alan Dracula, but that’s it. She’s still willing to kill other passengers (who are not the child cult members) and trap them to the same fate she’s so desperate to escape. What sucks is that all that needed to be done is to give her a moment where she realizes “what the fuck am I doing?! how fucked up is it that I almost did this” before figuring out the reflection trick with Jesse’s number to get them both out and it would’ve worked. That’s just me tho.

The one who she woke up and tossed out and then another who was unconscious as she tried stealing their number? She still showed no remorse, was only out for herself and completely uncaring of her subjecting them to the fate (being permanently stuck on the train) she was so desperate to get out of so long as she freed herself. And I also don’t like the idea that people will defend her as perfect purely on the fact for trans/non-binary rep and/or themes. Having rep is fine so long as it’s respectful, and you’re not using them as a shield against justifying very terrible behavior that would be condemned irl or to ignore bad/flawed writing.
One-One himself says she's right where she needs to be. The point was that she didn't Need development -- her being herself is a catalyst for other people to help Themselves. If you ask me she had her development in the very first episode when she literally stopped reflecting her Prime by giving herself a makeover. No one, from the very start, could tell her who she was. All that was left was to trust that others don't automatically want to change her to be more like them just because she could use better communication/compromising skills. That last bit was manifested by her Choosing to Reflect someone else in the form of Jesse's number, knowing reflecting someone just a little won't mean she's lost herself to someone else. She also learned to trust that someone else could grow and change without forcing her to do the same things in the same ways in order to be loved, as she'd believed all her life. She Definitely developed and earned her way off the train, but you could say she actually had less development to go through than any passenger, which is even more refreshing.

Jessie got back to the train because the train fixes problems whether they be moral or personal. His "problem" was that he abandoned a friend. Which would be bad but he didn't actually so coming back his number was 0 and not zero because he didn't need to grow any further but his "problem" couldn't be solved and there was no way to quantify it. When one one let them go hes a machine and there were logistical issues here. The bs semantics solved the problem so fuck it leave. (This is probably head cannon but it masks a lot of sense)
ok, i need to put it out there, as someone who has (unfortunately) devoted too many years to swim team, almost positive that was supposed to be butterfly, not breaststroke. In case you don't know/ haven't heard yet-
Book 4 was announced a few days after this vid went out :^)
5:33 that’s the butterfly stroke, not breaststroke. Butterfly is really hard and I’ve been on swim teams where only a handful (or only 1) do it bc it’s so physically taxing. Breaststroke is a lot easier and no one really is forced into that one for swim meets (more often people are specifically asking for it).
Personally, MT/Lake didn’t earn her redemption that Tulip and S3’s protagonist did. I like that she’s morally gray, but I don’t like that she was just rewarded but hardly learned shit/grew.
She grows to care about Jesse and Alan Dracula, but that’s it. She’s still willing to kill other passengers (who are not the child cult members) and trap them to the same fate she’s so desperate to escape. What sucks is that all that needed to be done is to give her a moment where she realizes “what the fuck am I doing?! how fucked up is it that I almost did this” before figuring out the reflection trick with Jesse’s number to get them both out and it would’ve worked.
That’s just me tho.
I mean to be fair they were trying to kill her so it was out of self defense but I totally get your point.

But the other new arrivals to the train? The one who she woke up and tossed out and then another who was unconscious as she tried stealing their number? She still showed no remorse, was only out for herself and completely uncaring of her subjecting them to the fate (being permanently stuck on the train) she was so desperate to get out of so long as she freed herself.
And I also don’t like the idea that people will defend her as perfect purely on the fact for trans/non-binary rep and/or themes. Having rep is fine so long as it’s respectful, and you’re not using them as a shield against justifying very terrible behavior that would be condemned irl or to ignore bad/flawed writing.
One-One himself says she's right where she needs to be. The point was that she didn't Need development -- her being herself is a catalyst for other people to help Themselves. If you ask me she had her development in the very first episode when she literally stopped reflecting her Prime by giving herself a makeover. No one, from the very start, could tell her who she was. All that was left was to trust that others don't automatically want to change her to be more like them just because she could use better communication/compromising skills. That last bit was manifested by her Choosing to Reflect someone else in the form of Jesse's number, knowing reflecting someone just a little won't mean she's lost herself to someone else. She also learned to trust that someone else could grow and change without forcing her to do the same things in the same ways in order to be loved, as she'd believed all her life. She Definitely developed and earned her way off the train, but you could say she actually had less development to go through than any passenger, which is even more refreshing.

Jessie got back to the train because the train fixes problems whether they be moral or personal. His "problem" was that he abandoned a friend. Which would be bad but he didn't actually so coming back his number was 0 and not zero because he didn't need to grow any further but his "problem" couldn't be solved and there was no way to quantify it. When one one let them go hes a machine and there were logistical issues here. The bs semantics solved the problem so fuck it leave. (This is probably head cannon but it masks a lot of sense)
