never really occurred to me that Amelia has been dealing with sci fi technology for 30 years and probably has no sense of how far along real technology actually is. I'm imagining her getting off the train and reflexively looking for tools and circuits that don't exist like an astronaut forgetting that there's gravity.
That would be kind of a good end for her story, coming back to earth and being a pioneer in this ridiculous technology getting support and admiration from everyone, finally being able to move on and happy to see that the world finally has changed and accepts her for who she is
Certainly makes me wonder is she'll even want to leave the train. She's missed so much, and I could see her not wanting to go back. Going back would be as disorienting as it was when Alrick passed away, all the things she's gotten climatized to on the train, now it's all different. And it might be best she doesn't knw of the changes. I imagine she'd become depressed, feeling like she's wasted 33+ years of her life on the train trying to achieve the impossible when the world was changing for the better. Then immediately Amelia is dismissed and Alrick gets the A+ on his work. And then a little later on we see Alrick and Amelia both having silver spoons in their mouths in one of those flashback stills. Maybe this is just a british idiom, but someone 'having a silver spoon in their mouth' generally means they come from a life of privilege and don't understand the struggles everyone else goes through. (Usually it's a class/wealth metaphor, but Alrick definitely has privilege over Amelia by being a dude in the 60/70's) So Alrick seeing the struggles of Amelia with his silver spoon literally in his mouth, and then sharing that spoon with Amelia is a very quick visual cue that Alrick shared his privilege with Amelia from the get go! That definitely could be something she has to work through with her discrimination trauma, that she can handle the world on her own standing because she's capable of generating her own privilege just as much as the privilege Alrick gave her wholeheartedly when she needed it. I think she's definitely got that, and more cause she's a badass engineer, but she might need to accept it herself before she can go.

Amelia being childfree and staying childfree is actually so important. If we do see her and Hazel again they better not make Amelia "maternal" or anything like that, if her arc is becoming a mother figure to Hazel it ruins a big part of her character
I personally don't think her arc is headed towards her becoming maternal, but part of her growth will involve being able to respect children. Children are not the one's at fault for her oppression, but she lashes out at them and uses the fact they are children as a derogatory thing. I believe if the show continues past Book 4 and we get more on Amelia and Hazel, it'll be more of an angle of them both becoming more happy to be alive and healing rather than of mother and child.
I mean I get what you’re trying to say, but Amelia treating a lost child with love snd respect won’t make her “maternal”. If anything, it shows growth being on the train. It’s not about “being maternal”, it’s about her making amends (through deleting her cars), and moving on from her past traumas, and letting Hazel in doesnt make her “maternal”, it means that she’s finally seeing the value of another person and in due time, I hope we get to see the relationship between Amelia and Hazel grow, as they are parallel characters who both lost everything. I think people are viewing their relationship from a one dimensional perspective because Hazel is a child, but I think Hazel will help Amelia figure out how to work through her trauma and knock down her walls. Personally, I love the pairing and can’t wait to see more from them. As a general PSA, I think we should stop seeing women with children as inherently maternal, especially a set up like Amelia and Hazel, where we will probably see them rely and love on each other due to survival rather than “maternal instincts”. And I can’t wait to see Hazel grow into herself as well💖 RIP to a real one Tuba tho😭😭😭

I'm glad you addressed that people who dislike children shouldn't be mean to them or say horrible things about them. If you feel resentful at children because of societal pressure that's something you have to work through in private, it shouldn't be normalized to say horrible things about children even if you don't want them or like them.
I have realized that complex and flawed female characters are my absolute favorite. I love Amelia and really hope she finds redemption and peace, regardless of whether or not she gets off the train.
One slight error, UK universities aren't the same as US ones in the length of time you study. They are often significantly shorter. So they are more likely 21 or 22 when they graduate.
Amelia would probably be in secondary school in that clip as primary school kids dont tend to wear blazers and instead wear jumpers/cardigans/dresses particularly colour coded to their specific school (mine used to be white shirt red cardigan/jumper to which it would also be appropriateto wear a white and red checkered dress) then when you go into secondary you usually have to wear a school blazer which usually has the schools logo now and sometimes is coloured too depending on the school. School uniforms are usually designed by the school (and can cost a fortune sometimes) thats not going into the scam that is secondary school pe kits. 15 pounds for a pair of socks that are mandatory and really short shorts all school branded so you have to pay.
Mini rant: my secondary school changed the PE kit three times in 3 years which my family could barely afford, especially since I’m the only girl child out of my siblings so I’ll be the only one wearing it, but it took them 3 years to decide the put trousers on the school uniform list because it took them a long time to ‘find the right style’, yet they messed it up so the waist was too loose and the length of the trousers stayed the same. So many people couldn’t even wear them because of the sizing, and if they did, they had to wear safety pins to hold them in place that opened up when they sat down
This is an amazing analysis and I'm glad I found this shared on Twitter. I need to watch more of your past videos now as I love deep analysis like this. Keep up the great work!

Hey! It's not out yet this is actually an unreleased demo! It'll be out soonish
Amelia's dang HOT! Infinity Train Book 4 is happening Y'all.
I do like that Tulip was set up as someone who's smart and into coding/programming, she's a mirror to Amelia in many ways.
I like that you used the Simon as the leader telling the APEX to attack Grace detail, I think it really helps your argument.
I'm glad you addressed that people who dislike children shouldn't be mean to them or say horrible things about them. If you feel resentful at children because of societal pressure that's something you have to work through in private, it shouldn't be normalized to say horrible things about children even if you don't want them or like them.
This is incredible! I can't believe I only ever noticed the aesthetics and never considered the politics of Amelia's time
I wish Markiploer was actually talking about infinity train so the show would get enough fans to not be cancelled after Book 4
Love the intro lol
Click for the infinity train content, stay for the British history lesson.
what was that song she used to transition from the first to the second segment? great vid btw
Hey! It's my song "how to let go" this is actually just a demo of it but i'm planning on releasing it soon!
@@huck_nyc Thank you! Can't wait!
I can't find "how to let go" anywhere and I'm devastated
Same!!!
i find myself coming back to this comment section hoping to find that song name😔
Its in the video whennit starts play bottom or top left. However the ceeator simply seems to have it nowgere
@@nexqabahg yeah that's what I mean. Knowing the song and creator doesn't help when u can't find it
Hey! It's not out yet! This is actually an unreleased demo. It'll be out this year forsure!
I have realized that complex and flawed female characters are my absolute favorite. I love Amelia and really hope she finds redemption and peace, regardless of whether or not she gets off the train.
I guess I’ve sort of heard of this ‘thirst’ thing😅
You did such a good job editing i sat here for a minute like "huh does Markiplier have another channel i didnt know of?"
One slight error, UK universities aren't the same as US ones in the length of time you study. They are often significantly shorter. So they are more likely 21 or 22 when they graduate.
I appreciate your dedication to apply maths here even when you don’t like it. I’m bad at it too😅
Amelia would probably be in secondary school in that clip as primary school kids dont tend to wear blazers and instead wear jumpers/cardigans/dresses particularly colour coded to their specific school (mine used to be white shirt red cardigan/jumper to which it would also be appropriateto wear a white and red checkered dress) then when you go into secondary you usually have to wear a school blazer which usually has the schools logo now and sometimes is coloured too depending on the school.
So many people couldn’t even wear them because of the sizing, and if they did, they had to wear safety pins to hold them in place that opened up when they sat down
@@lynx_the_ SAME! they changed it so often to make us pay.
Great video!! So much can be picked up from the details and that's what I like about the shorts and really, the whole series!
Snappy Dresser? I mean, that’s a little arguable Amelia.
I don't know, for a 60+ year old woman I think she could make most anything look good.
@@HenshinFanatic Sure, but the colors on the clothing she chose is just a bit drab and lifeless, along with a more utilitarian design.
It’s cool attire for a sci-fi train engineer (if that’s what her title is, I don’t know), but it isn’t exactly snappy. Amelia herself, though...
The intro is mark simping for the main character
This is an amazing analysis and I'm glad I found this shared on Twitter. I need to watch more of your past videos now as I love deep analysis like this. Keep up the great work!
Can't wait for book 4!!!
Okay but that song you used in the beginning, "How to let go," I can't find it on spotify or anywhere- someone help! I really like it omg
Also looking! Toonruins your musical taste is too cultured for us common people! Save us
Dude Ive literally been searching the comments to find it too lmao
same im going crazy and i really want to know
Hey! It's actually not out yet but it will be!
This video is so good and deserves more views, here’s more engagement
People should be lusting over Amelia instead of Kuvira from LoK, and I stand by that
36:53 Oooooof... That hurt my soul. I can't believe this amazing series was cut short.
How can you make me love Amelia even more? I love an emotionally complex badass
STAN ALRICK (this video is so great, i never thought about this!)
ahhhh I can't find that song, does anyone know where I can find how to let go by huck?
Im just sad that people are going to see the word feminism in the thumbnail and downvote without watching it.
Help I can’t find the first song in the video by Huck anywhere :( I’ve looked on RUclips, Google, SoundCloud, Spotify, etc. Does anyone have a link?
same. seems to not exist in any of Hucks own catalog or anywhere else for that matter.
it’s really weird, the song sounds so familiar and comforting but i can’t find it anywhere
Hey! It;s not out yet but it will be!
"how to let go" a song that I never couldn't find
Hey! It's not out yet but it will be soon!
"if Christian moms hate it, it's good stuff" I love that so much
watching timeline after season 4 there may be some more specifics to grab the date when she gets on the train
I love that you focused on Amelia's character, she's super interesting
i thought i clicked on a markiplier video
bruh same i clicked off twice to confirm it was the right one
Where can I find that song in the beginning how to let go
I can't find it on spotify, youtube, or soundcloud?
Amelia is still a villain tho (I'm not sure, she isn't the nicest person, she is pretty mean to protagonist in general), but I love her
Our last protagonist lead a child cult and that turned out amazing so I think the show can definatly handle Amelia as a protagonist
Antagonist.
im american but i was homeschooled so i don't really understand the american grade system and i also don't understand the english grade system so that part was very fun
Wow I just watched book 3 and realized I don't remember A-NY-THING from book 1 & 2?? So I remember little by little with the video lol
We need book 5 of Infinity Train !!!!!!!!!!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one thirsting for Amelia lol
I can't find the "How to let go" anywhere? It's a shame cuz I thought I was a beautiful song!
hey! it''s gonna be out soonish
lesson learned, let women play with radios
If christian moms hate it you know it's good stuff, I couldn't agree more
If a pregnant person get on the train does the baby have a number you would think yes but you only have numbers if your trying to fix something but the baby hasn't done anything literally
Good work getting Owen’s blessings
Ur videos are literally revolutionary
When it opened with mark i thought youtube was gltiching
Is it just me or I cant find the opening song can someone send me a link or something?
deadass, i’ve been thinking about this song for weeks
Update its been released in spotify 'how to let go' same artist its been 3 year's lmao
_In this house we love and respect Alrick._
Youre content has been getting better and better. really stepping up the standard for the cartoon community. we see you lindsey ellis
This is the first of your videos I've seen and I spent the first minute thinking
"Oh hey. Markiplier got a second channel. That's neat."
I thought youtube was accidentally playing a Markiplier video for a sec there
I was like "Not again yt, I've already seen this video I want to watch the infinity train video"
We um don’t exactly have elementary school here...we call it Primary school.(yes I’m British)
It is time for my favorite segment: *Waiting for a cartoon show that I love come back from hiatus!!*
WOW this video is amazing. i love your channel so much.
This is a really great analysis and explanation. This video made me like and respect Amelia's character so much. I didn't observe all those subtle background details.
You did a great job of explaining womens' life in the UK in 1960s-1980s. I thought women in the west were treated equally as men in the last century unlike India. But this video made me aware both were very much the same.
Thanks for the great video. ❤️🙏
A legit snack gushing over a buff woman. You immediately got my attention.
i’m literally going crazy thinking about the song at the beginning AMV...da linky?
hey! it's not out yet but it will be!
i need that song you used for the AMV at around 2:11....I NEEEED ITTTTT!!!
hey! It's actually not out yet but it will be soon!
Does anyone know what video markipliers reaction was from because Im fairly certain it wasnt from this one and wasnt about infinity train and now Im more curious as to what exactly prompt that reaction from him.
this is a really amazing and well put together analysis of details and themes
We um have graduations at university btw
you put a lot of work into your videos and i appreciate you.
For example amphibia killed a character
