- Infinity Train is a show about the trauma we go through as humans, and the stories of those who either fail or succeed in over coming it. Amelia Hughes boarded due to the loss of her fiance, Alrick Timmens. But how did Alrick die? The pieces are in place, and now it makes a lot of sense how Amelia got to the point that she did.
Let's push for the renewal of Infinity Train togather, so that way eventually we can get answers to this question and more. This can't be the end, and we're going to fight this canceltion until these characters get their ending. #InfinityTrain #RenewInfinityTrain

I’ve always thought that Jeremy was kind of a foil to Amelia’s character, having stayed in the train, working away trying to avoid his problems while years passed. And it wasn’t until a confrontation that they realized that it wasn’t too late for them. So if the car accident theory is true, that would connect them even more

I remember that Owen said in the Reddit AMA that book 6 was supposed to be focused on guilt and if I remember correctly then Jeremy was on the train because he felt guilty about the car crash. Maybe book 6 focused on Jeremy?? We could’ve gotten answers there!!!
The accident likely didn't happen in the UK, because Amelia and Alrick moved to the US for college. Unless they went back to the UK after that. However, the hydrants are US-based when Amelia is being called to the funeral. So they were in the US when he died.
Jeremy mentions a person named Keith in his journal: "Ha ha. I wonder what Keith is up to these days." In the yearbook, there are some fruit denizens. One of them (a lemon) says, "Ewww! Keithhh!" In the storyboards for Book 5, there is a car that has vegetable denizens, and Amelia visits it. Maybe Amelia came across this Keith and found out Jeremy was behind the accident.
The plot thickens. That wouldve been huge for her and easily contributed against her being able to grieve
I am so here for how deep you go into Amelia and Alrick’s backstory, this video and the feminist arc video are some of my favourites of yours. Really makes me want book 5 :’c
Imagine being put on the infinity train because you had trouble dealing with having a sick family only to finally get off the train and know they passed and you missed the funeral

Also I'm also always under the assumption that Amelia has stayed in the train for quite some time in Book 4 since she seems to have better mental state the first time we see her before the 'incident' we don't know in Book 5 that led to the coup. This also seems to shed more light into her dialogue in Book 3 on how she 'didn't like how One did things' as possibly being genuinely about running the car instead of just One not giving Alrick back, and I assume its a conflict of ideology between Amelia wanting to use the power of the train to provide freedom and happiness for passengers like her to a selfish unhealthy degree & One's cold ideology of self betterment or die. While this is a theory but the Ghom orb is certainly product of this conflict, and considering how the Ghoms seems to serve no therapeutic purpose, infiltrates into other cars, and does not work within the system like the Docent, its purpose seems to be extermination, and may be One's doing to counter Amelia's coup, until she lost her idealism in giving freedom to other passengers, to wanting them to stay put in their cars while she tries to ressurect Alrick, using the Ghom orb as a weapon and the swarms Ghoms themselves acting to hinder anyone from making it into the engine.
I also always want to gush about Rymin and AmeliaxAlrick parallels and contrasts 😂😂. Besides Rymin and AmeliaxAlrick as well as Kez and Morgan being parallels, I loved how important Amelia's appearances in the Book 4 were, and her cameos were not just for the sake of it but narratively woven into Ryan and Min-Gi's stories. Ryan and Min-Gi are estranged from each other and in the end has to learn to forgive each other and themselves for their past to forge a new future together, and its similar to Amelia needing to move on & accept the past, but opposite in the sense that she has to learn to let go of Alrick and how they are separated by death. Amelia's tragedy serves as both a sweet and bitter omen for Ryan and Min-Gi on what they would face by relying with each other, and so Amelia tries to 'individuate' them (its taken out of context but i think its still narratively important for Rymin). Such as when she returned their instruments and clothes which were both vital tools for how they got off the train and also essentially her bringing their old emotional baggage to come back (and its amazing how layered IT is because this action means separately in Amelia or One's perspective, as they are not doing this to only Rymin, a sympathetic action that also can be traced to their flaws: how Amelia is obsessed with the past and One tries to be human but fails to understand it completely). As such he returned objects also sprang trouble for Min-Gi, who remembered his past looking at his keychains and ran out of the performance. Symbolically, Amelia and Min-Gi are connecting in their trait of not being able to move on, and at that moment the returned objects instead stopped his progress in the train, which provides an argument for One's original "no personal objects" policy even tho personally i think its a worse idea 😂 since the instruments did help them get off too! Necause they bonded over them. So its a duality as Amelia gave them these tools to 'individuate' them and it resulted instead with the non-closure of the past coming back to haunt their relationship, yet them using these tools and the good from past experiences to rekindle their relationship, apologize, and move on despite the risks, symbolically braving through the possible tragedies that can hit them as it did with Amelia and Alrick.
Amelia's last appearance is removing the boots which we don't know the reason for as off now, but her coup is done in a rush and without the consent of the passengers, whi h yeah she is probably trying not to be killed at that moment according to the storyboards 😂, but already foreshadows her downfall for wanting freedom, individuality, and agency for the passengers into thinking she knows what's good for them and creating a strict order as she is more obsessed with her personal mission, and it translates well from how she uses the mecha suit to be more machine-like by Book 1, symbolizing her loss of humanity and becoming more like orginal One. Amelia during the coup acts rashly without consent and confuses or possibly endangers a lot of passengers as well as destroying the network of (flawed) support systems established by the train. Her action aligns with Ryan's volatile and sudden mannerisms, and in this action she reiterated his trauma, especially after jsut reeling in from Kez's betrayal and he takes it badly because he recognizes and is guilty that he acted the same ("lalala i'm a bell!" But unironically) combined with the guilt from accidentally 'leaving' Min in the Gallery car. By removing this support system and causing their confusion, Amelia emulates Ryan's fear of not being able to create a new future, stuck in the past due to inability (Ryan's "it moved but it didn't change" vs. Tulip telling Amelia "you can't even make a car without any turtles in it"). They both recklessly try to forge a future for themselves, and Ryan learns that he should learn to forgive and apologize on Min, but Amelia has no such option except moving on, especially considering (its kinda far out theory but may be appropriate) it seems that Amelia isn't that close to anybody else except Alrick to have a strong support system, and while she does have a companion in the concept art, the first time we saw her in Book 4 she was alone with One, so I'm suspicious that this may had played into her arc in book 5 but i can be wrong.
Coincidentally we had the hashtag trending today. I saw it get up to #6. I'm still hopeful for more books and even a movie or two in the future.
I do agree that before Amelia met One she was probably just learning abt the train for 5 years just learning abt it and probably trying to bring Alrick back. I think eventually One saw how she was figuring some things out about how it worked and he let her work with her or she find One somehow while learning more abt the train
Honestly I’d think it would be amazing if it turned out he wasn’t lying and it was a dirt bike accident but not just that alone, say someone was on a bike and they were the cause of the accident causing his car to crash when trying to avoid the bike or having struck it. That way the car wreck would be accurate as well as saying it was a dirt bike accident, doesn’t mean he has to be the one on the bike.
One of the rooms with the IV in unfinished car has a 4 above the hospital bed. I think this is a subtle clue that Alricks accident WAS connected to Jeremy’s accident since we first hear of the car accident in book 4

About the timeline debate I wanna mention that Amelia doesn't look that different when you compare how she looked in book 1's The Past Car and how she looked in book 4 and the book 5 mockup frame
If she was 5 years on the train wouldn't her appearance be different? longer hair maybe? She looks exactly the same before she boarded in book 1's flashbacks and after she boarded in books 4-5
My theory is based on what one one said. “Given enough time, anything can happen”. What if given enough time, she said as the first person to wake up on the number car. CaUse why else would she not be in that jump suit
@@Rioux1355 She had a jumpsuit of her own, and boots of her own. However, she boarded the train in a green sweater (look at her tape memory). In Book 4 she has a red sweater and she has the boots on too. So she likely had been processed, unless One personally dragged her to the machine and had her wear the boots.
Her jumpsuit is seen in the frame Owen posted, but she didn't have the turtle or the jumpsuit with her in Book 4, so maybe she received the jumpsuit or put it back on before meeting the turtle.
@@detonatressm9400 interesting. She is seen wearing the same sweater in the Flack back in book one. Two possibilities, lighting made the shirt green (which I doubt), or she had two sweaters worn. With Britain and the rain… maybe?!?
@@Rioux1355 When Alrick died she was no longer in Britain. She was in the US (they moved there for college). The clues are given by the US fire hydrant on the day of Alrick's funeral. But would be interesting if she had 2 sweaters on if they were gifts from Alrick. She was wearing his robe too.
@@detonatressm9400 the two sweater thing is a possibility. Though I do wonder if they went to school in the United Kingdom than moved to the us. Or perhaps the hydrants was an old style hydrant. This is why we need more seasons

You can prepare and come to terms with it, though when it finally comes, you can never be fully prepared. It lessens the blow significantly.
I literally have no evidence for this, but I think that Jeremy is the guy that Lake stole the pod from. Since he never got his number, he can’t leave the train just like Morgan wanted.
Book 4 takes place before Book 2. And Jeremy left the train... he had a number.

Book 3 is always on my mind. There are just so many things I want to know. What happens to Hazel? Does Amelia get off the train? Does *Grace* get off the train? Ahh why did the show have to get cancelled?! Also, does anyone have any guesses on what would happen in Book 5? I heard that Guilt would have been the main theme in Book 5.
From what I heard, Book 5 was gonna be a movie that explained how Amelia took over the train; as for Book 3, yeah my thoughts exactly, as well as wondering if Samantha found out about Simon and what her reaction was.

Where you mention the picture of Amelia talking on the phone with that pained, shocked expression, to the bottom left of it there is a plane....he may have died abroad, or in a plane. I think car accident or accident on the job is most likely, especially with all the hospital imagery, but I just thought it was cool to mention as a possibility. Most people in a plane crash dont survive to be admitted into hospital for any amount of time. he could have also been suddenly diagnosed with cancer. While my mom was suddenly diagnosed and given 2 weeks to live after a very shocking sudden illness, I have a good friend I used to work with whose boyfriend was diagnosed and died of cancer within 90 days....so, there are always some possibilities!
someone already pointed out that the car accident in book 4 likely wasn't the same accident Alrick was in (if he was in an accident) due to the timelines not matching up but it is possible
Other theories on RUclips regarding Alrick's death have pointed to little details sprinkled throughout the Turtle Car, the Unfinished Car, etc., and although Jeremy could have some connection to Alrick and Amelia, it's also possible that Alrick could have died from an electrical accident, a stroke, a heart attack, asthma, etc. Books 5-9 could have given us some better insight, but only time will tell if we'll ever get a satisfying conclusion.

I do think that even if he was involved in the car crash that killed Jeremy's mom and sister he probably didn't die in the car crash but of an injury way after in a hospital . Just seems more likely it explains the whole hospital bed and the hospital equipment. He was probably in a hospital for a long time.

I'd like to imagine that both Amelia and Alrick were involved in the accident, but she escaped fairly unscathed aside from minor injuries. Why else would she see the yellow tape if she wasn't there when it happened? The phone call could've been from the hospital after visiting hours telling her that Alrick didn't make it. Also chances are she met One-one within at most a few months since the train car she got on was the second one.

I like your analysis but I am confused about one detail. The caution tape is wrapped around pillars at their campus, and your theory is that Jeremy and Alrick hit each other head on in their cars. You would expect that accident to happen on a secluded road without many lights, not the middle of a college campus that likely would have illuminated street lights in thick fog. I guessed that Jeremy maybe swerved out of the way of another car, lost control, and crashed, taking the lives of not only his mother and sister but also Alrick, who was a pedestrian. I'm not saying you are wrong because I could be taking details way too literally. The hospital beds in the turtle's houses were unlikely to have actually been in residential homes, so the caution tape was maybe not actually at the college campus. So yeah, I could be dead wrong but do you think my idea holds water?

of course he died in a car crash. 1. Jam is just blood or blood mixed with gasoline, turtles were sliding trough the crosssection because his car was green and was turned upside down during the accident and the red car was the one that hit his car I assume. Also the car crash probably was in the USA and they were british so maybe he did some manouver at first and because of the stress or the heavy mist/rain he was on the wrong side of the street what escalated into a crash finally. It must happened quickly and just after she proposed that's why it was so traumatising she didin't even wanted to participate in the furneal, she was still in a state of denial that it had happened.

So, I watched the entire video but I wanted to go back and talk about 11:17. You make some valid points, but could you please explain why the flipped over car wasn't damaged, if that's the car that either was the car Alrick was driving or the car he had a collision with in this possible car accident? The car is flipped upside down, but it appears to be completely intact.

It is possible? People die from freak attained all the time. Also I don't see him as a action man tape. Or spots tape, he wasn't old or sick so it makes sense that he die from a freak attained. It is very sad do, he was a very nice man and I can see why she wanted to be with him.
