The Infinity Train, the setting of the show with the same name, is a brilliant creation of science fiction and is one of the most mysterious elements of the show! Imagine being on the infinity train for like 20 years, coming back, and your entirely life is gone because you've been presumed dead. No house, no assets, family has moved on, etc etc.
The fact that time moves the same in the real world as in the train and that people are going to know that you're missing would be a nightmare for me if I ever got on the train. I can't bare the thought of people being scared or stressed because of me.
Don't forget to take a selfie with the train and a status "getting on alien train to sort out my issues brb" so that people know why you're gone :)

The Infinity Train is actually terrifying to me. Imagine if you were litteraly trapped in an alternate dimension indefinitely until you fix your issues and your family, friends and loved ones don't know what happened to you, and you disappear from your work or school all of the sudden, your life essentially is put on hold, you are disappeared... And you do not get to choose to go back to your loved ones. Scary...
I don't think I would get on if I found it.

I think the Gohm exploded because Simon's number was so high. I've heard others draw this conclusion, and he also gets affected by the Gohm much faster than anyone else we see in screen, even Grace in the same scene. The numbers have a sort of energy, shown through Simon's tracker, perhaps the Gohm's consume this energy
Personal idea/headcanon based one the "support group" thing you proposed: This one passenger leaves a message in every car they enter - "If and when you get off this train, call this number, or write to this e-mail. We have much to discuss.", and the aforementioned contact info scribbled below that message. This starts an Apex-like movement, though obviously less sinister and cult-ish. It's a bunch of people scribbling the necessary contact info in every car they enter (sometimes there is more than one place where it's scribbled, because a few previous passengers somehow missed the original writing), to help each other get help once they are off the train.

1) The Train exists to "help" people - Owen Dennis
2) The Train has existed since the Big Bang - Owen Dennis
3) Simon got on the train from losing a Spelling Bee - Owen Dennis (So you're right in saying his flaw is thinking he is always right)
4) The Train won't pick up someone who isn't able to learn from their mistakes, Which means they have no Crossroads in their life - Owen Dennis
5) If The Train appears for someone who needs it, The person can just not get on and avoid it - Owen Dennis
6) If you see The Train but it isn't there for you, You can still get on - Owen Dennis
7) The Train is on an Unknown Alien Planet, As Alien's made the Train - Owen Dennis

The whole crossroads thing make sense with the death issue. Tulip likely would've died trying to get to Oshkosh. She had no plan, no food, etc. She likely woudve ended up kidnapped and uh....
I think the crossroads means that at some point, due to that event the train interrupted, that person woudve ended up killing someone, themselves, or making the world an extremely worse place.
This show is so unbelievably cool. It checks all my boxes:
[X] Imaginative, fascinating, escapist setting where I could see myself being able to live in
[X] Well-written, compelling characters that go on motivated adventures
[X] Horror that is meaningful and not just there to be shocking or scary for the sake of scary
[X] I learn something important that I can take with me to the real world, once the adventure is finished
Short theory: In the later seasons of the show (please god please let there be more) one book will be about how each planet is one cart of a gigantic train, and "solving" it would let you advance to another society. Maybe it could be about how to fix a broken or corrupt society. I absolutely love the theories and potential of this show!

about the thing you said about "infinite" being fuzzy since we see the front of it, to be clear, there are in fact infinite Natural numbers so until we see a caboose it's pretty safe to assume it to be infinite

two items i feel should have been added to this video (Love the video)
1)The engine is where the train cars are created, and the train is always making new cars all the time.
2) train cars have the ability to move. Meaning that train cars can change positions for reason or perhaps randomly, but so long as there is no passenger on board.
overall, love how in-depth this video is.
It's entirely possible for the train to be infinite and yet have a determined end point. Think Zeno's paradox: how can you take a step if to do so you must cross half the distance, then half the remaining distance, then half the remaining distance and so on and so on, forever? The answer is that there are an infinite number of distances between each step. It's called an infinite converging series. It's similar to numerical infinity: you have the infinity of numbers, called countable infinity (1, 2, 3, and so on) but inbetween each number you also have the uncountable infinity of fractions and irrational numbers like pi or root 2.
8:40 Taking this, and Owen’s comment that Simon got on the train after losing a spelling bee, I think I can paint an idea of why Simon got on the train.
He possibly misspelled a word during the spelling bee, but refused to accept that he spelt the word wrong, likely embarrassing himself in front of the others. He, like Tulip, probably ran away after that because he was unable to accept that he was wrong. I imagine if he got the help he needed, he would never have become the awful jerk we were shown.
cant watch the show on HBOMax since in NZ, i really want to suport the show and i know they would get way more views if HBOMax was open internationally
Yeah absolutely, it sucks that HBO Max is only in the US! I have no idea why they won't open it internationally, but it would definitely only help Infinity Train!

From Europe here. I feel like getting an Express VPN and also a subscription to a US service like HBOMax account is a bit overkill but hey, at least I can listen to people hype about the show.
Something I think is noteworthy is that the Tape Car is stated to project its pocket universe outside the car. This is consistent with the existence of ghom orbs, as that implies they are an element of the train's tech rather than something external to it. While we might speculate the creative possibilities are endless, the idea of treating the Wasteland as the universe of the car would have ghoms sourced by orbs as a pretty natural consequence. Dipping a bit into theory territory, this may explain why there seems to be a video game style edge of the Wasteland (as seen in Lake's failed attempt to wander away from it): it may very well be the bounds of the explorable area of the projection, no different from walls in a more obviously enclosed car.
It is strange that I watched this video having _no prior knowledge_ of what Infinity Train is?
Either way, going by this (props on the narration too; very clear and to-the-point), the machine itself indeed seems like half of it was developed by Time Lords (as you said, Doctor Who was an inspiration for it) and I'd say the other half was designed by Aperture Science from Valve's "Portal" franchise (things keep going wrong, reconfigurable cars with reconfigurable walls, objects, and entities, and even a spherical AI with a British accent; all you're missing is the giant supercomputer with a sadistic streak running the show).

I just had a thought. In regards to the train turning denizens into Gomes, what if it actually works the other way around. What if the train captures Gomes and uses the conversion cannon to convert them from mindless life thirsty beasts into the denizens it designs for the cars it makes. Maybe Amelia undid the conversion with Atticus but then tulip re-did it but thats how the train creates Denizens and the true living beings while the orbs simply help sustain the environment and monitor the functions.
Tulip traveled through 40 cars? Then that could mean that it's 40-ish cars per season since Book 3 starts with Simon mentioning they have to travel through 47 cars to get back to the Mall Car, back when he was looking at the number cluster which was a large shapeless mass of dots instead of one large dot like when they cross path with Amelia, who showed up on that device as one massive dot. Speaking of that, where did Simon get that device? None of the Apex are smart enough to build something that can track the passengers on the train, only Amelia. Maybe she left that behind in one of the cars?
Also, I think the Sporting Goods car was just a store inside the Mall Car.
How long the train is? Besides saying it's infinite, I know it's certainly MUCH longer than six miles since if the world the train is on is the same size as earth, and the train stretches from horizon to horizon, then at any point on the train before it dips under the curvature of the earth it's a three mile radius to the horizon where the ground curves away. So we have at least one tiny measurement to work with even if we don't know the whole length.
Also, I don't think the train does stop all the time for when a passenger gets off. Tulip had her exit open, but the train kept rolling on, and we've not seen it stop since that one time.
We can surmise that the Wasteland is on a planet that might be kinda Earth-like. It has about the same gravitational pull as Earth since falling from a 5 story moving train is gonna kill you. And the atmosphere is breathable. The only thing we've not seen happen in the Wasteland is different types of weather or even night or day cycle. Meaning either the planet spins at a slower speed to earth, the train moves faster than the planet spins, or it's a planet that exists with multiple suns at once so there is no day or night anywhere. That, and we've not heard about anything like temperature. So far no one seems to react to it like it's cold or hot when exiting cars.
What if the aliens who made the train want to save the world by helping change the mentality of the humans when they are passengers; what if the Wastleland is just the earth in the future; maybe the constructor of the train is no alien and is human from the future

@@OmgItsKavi I had thought of something about the infinity train: What is the train running on, as in is it using an eternal engine? like theorized in snowpeircer? or is it some unknown fuel source. Also I have a theory about the infinity trains location,what if the infinity train is located in an entirely different dimension, like the entire planet is basically one dimension and, that what if there was once some extremely advanced civilization that mysteriously got killed off by something. that's all.
edit: to further put evidence fourth: this civilization could have created the train somehow.

I don't think wastelands are on Earth... Since Earth has a finite space, while the Train is... Well... Infinite
Here’s everything we know about the train so far:
Season 1:
The basics, you get a number on your hand, get it down to 0 and you go home.
The train is infinite and every car has a random theme
Numbers fluctuate based on your personal growth (they basically mean how much you need therapy)
There are orbs that control what the train cars have, land or denizens
There are tapes of passenger’s lives, but you can’t watch your own tape
Some cars have certain tasks or challenges you have to do in order to get out
The engine creates the train cars and sends them down the line.
Cars can move around
Your number can go up(obviously)
Season 2:
(Not confirmed, but I think it’s true) denizens can pass through cars if they don’t have a passenger
The events from some cars can make their way to others (specifically like how there were wanted posters of lake or mt on train cars)
Passengers can find each other, but that’s incredibly rare(unless if you’re the apex somehow)
The train car doors are indestructible I think
Denizens can’t get off the train
The wasteland lives up to its name (because it truly is a wasteland) and denizens can’t go that far before it becomes like a video game where you can’t go beyond the barrier
Where passenger numbers and tapes come from
Numbers can break if your problem is paradoxical or too complex, breaking the train itself in the process.
Season 3:
You can’t go beyond the limits of the train cars, for there is nothing but a black void (s3e3)
Infinity train tech showcased a bit
Cars usually don’t move if there are passengers in it
Things get kinda crazy if the static goes all the way up when you’re in your own tape
If you’re awake while the tape bots are still extracting your memories from your brain, that’s dangerous. You’ll have to pull the tape out if your head which might mess your brain up.
Numbers have no limits (providing a double meaning to “infinity train” sort of) but if your number goes up all the way, covering your whole body, the gohms will kill you (I think, not confirmed, but it’s what we’ve seen)
What happens when gohms get you
Season 4:
If multiple people get on the train, their numbers will be linked. Even if out of sync, no one can leave until everyone can leave.
Passengers used to have uniforms and Simon boots(except Simon definitely made some modifications to his somehow)
Your number can go back up even if you reach 0.
Your exit can appear outside the train.
The steward can make train cars glitchy and frozen to deliver train-wide announcements

Oh man I just found out about this show after some late night youtube wandering and I don't think I understand the rabbit hole I'm leaping into. Great Vid btw! -I believe that the Infinity Train is a combination of the T.A.R.D.I.S., Galaxy Express 999, Cube movies, Rick and Morty's Portal Gun, The Dark Tower and Inception. There may be more movies to reference from but I can't think of anymore.
-I believe that the series have a psychological analytic theme, -where different people of different genders and ages summon the train and are taken aboard to resolve their inner conflicts. The Train itself may be a metaphor for a psychiatric ward.
-The cars are build specifically for each person aboard. I suppose that the cars are within a dimension within a dimension and within another dimension.
-From the Horror movie Cube, the Cube moves positions to make it harder on the prisoner from escaping. In Infinity Train, the cars are move around according to the function's need. So in a way, the cars without use are raised and push to the end.

And- did the other cockroach dog things that chased Tulip(and Lake)

To be honest, I don't think there is an order to any of these cars. Rather, each door opens a pocket dimension where the user, person with a number, would walk through to get to the exact car they'd need to further push their personal growth and their number to 0.
The Apex car has a set location that they go back and forth from, kinda disproving this, cool theory though

Unfortunately it only got renewed for one season, and it's probably a prequel. We don't get to see what happened to Hazel and Amelia and probably not much more about the train's tech...
Interestingly, on the train and its functions, @DioTheCreative tweeted a speculative art post about the train, which included details like it having something to do with research observation (at least, from what I can recall, it's rather fuzzy), and Owen had commented saying that it was "like... 90% accurate" on here: twitter.com/oweeeeendennis/status/1163917870406885376?lang=en
Unfortunately, the account is no longer available on Twitter and I haven't been able to find it across DioTheCreative's art accounts. I'm not sure if their email on their ABOUT page still works, but that might be something you might find interesting for your next video.
Also, on the Mirror World, Owen commented a while back that had Sieve survived, he still wouldn't have been able to follow Lake through reflective surfaces on Earth due to not having a number, which seems to point towards the Mirror World and Mirror Law possibly being a creation of the train as those hypothetical other Chrome Cars likely are the only other places reflections would even be able to enter the Prime World if that restriction applies to all reflections and flecs.
That said, it's definitely verging into theory territory at that point, but even if the Mirror World wasn't created by the train and populated with living reflections for every single person on Earth by the train (even if said persons wouldn't be picked up by the train due to not being able to learn from their mistakes as @SeanToaler brought up), that kind of number restriction still applying to the Mirror World would imply a scary level of control over another plane of existence from the train to prevent that kind of travel.
Well, about as scary as how the youngest age a passenger could be to get on the train is that they have to "at least have a sense of right and wrong" as Owen and the writers finally settled on in regards to that question here: twitter.com/OweeeeenDennis/status/1332886771248504832
That revelation still scares me for just how young a passenger the train could theoretically pick up...
(By the way, fun fact: the robots in the Tape Car are called "porters," the substance in the passenger farm is apparently "milk-based" - which may or may not potentially be connected to the white substance on Grace's tape when she pulled it out - and if I remember correctly, one of the names for the miniature One-Ones that create tapes is "memory lice")

Wonder if governments on Earth are aware of the train, as the businessman with the high number indicates it's not just kids and teens but also adults that are kidnapped. If enough passengers are government employees, in the military, etc., then there would be an X-FILES situation regarding it.

The show also reminds me of Christianity in a way. Where you are sent from heaven to earth, you live your life, learn some lessons, try to be a better you, and if you did well up to your death, you are judged to enter heaven or be sent to hell, which is somewhere on earth where the devil was blasted into to suffer for all eternity. The parallels between these stories are pretty similar don't you think?
