I would have to say there is a 99.9999% chance Rocko has the world record for most summits by a Jack Russell.
Not wolves.
And those little legs take way more steps than humans' do! ❤🐕
@@terrywillefertWith mountain dogs being a thing, I’m not so sure about that.
Fittest Jack Russell on earth probably!
Only one Jack Russell has been to both the North and South pole though...........
Wow! Those summit shots are epically beautiful!
EPIC
Foresty for the intermittent electrical gremlins: In many if not most cases, gremlins like you describe are caused by faulty ground(s). Since you say after driving through water you get the fault with good consistency, I would crawl under the vehicle and inspect all the battery to engine grounds, the engine to frame grounds and the body to frame grounds. The manual will describe all of the grounds, of which there are many. Really look at all of them and clean and wire brush connections and also replace any old or suspect looking grounding cables (use dielectric grease to help prevent future corrosion after cleaning). And even add grounding cables in various locations to help ensure there is a solid ground to the system that seems most affected. If ABS and traction control are the ones acting up the most, then look on an electrical schematic and try to determine where its ground(s) comes from. Once you identify it, run your own ground straight from the battery and to the module (or its sensors etc) to see if that helps. If it doesn't help, it may be some other system that ABS/Traction control relies upon that is not getting a good ground. Just ground the hell out of everything one by one and see if it makes the problem go away. It won't hurt anything and it may very well help.
Otherwise, it could be a connector that is not hermetically sealed and water is getting into it during the wet driving conditions you describe. You can run simple experiments when you are not in the woods with a water spray bottle (or maybe with a garden hose or at a carwash etc). Experiment by spraying water on various locations you suspect may be possible trouble areas (which means grounds and connectors). Then drive around and see what happens. Pretty easy to do and you may discover a consistent cause and effect relationship allowing to really zero in on the culprit once and for all.
Lastly, and this may not be easily accomplished depending on how buried the connectors are, but try disconnecting the various connectors and inspect for "pushed" pins or sockets. Pins and sockets have locking tabs that keep them into position within the connector. With the connector disconnected, you can press on each socket and pin with a pointy tool (being careful not to short any 2 pins, best to do this with power off and battery disconnected or use a non-conductive pointy tool). Sometimes they fail or were never fully locked into place at the factory. They may have made good enough of a connection for the first few years of the van but eventually deteriorate with corrosion or looseness where the connection becomes intermittent and vulnerable to vibration and moisture.
If possible, check continuity between each connector "end-to-end" on each wiring harness. Flex the connector and wires while you check continuity. Go pin-to-pin, socket-to-socket etc for each and every one, starting with the system that seems affected most (ABS/traction in your case). Be on the lookout that sometimes the sockets and pins are still locked into place inside their connectors, but you have a pulled wire inside the insulation that is not visible externally (you can often feel a pulled wire through the insulation though). If the wires and connectors are buried deep within the guts of the van, these types of tests may not be easily doable. But after you exhaust all of the easier things described above and there's still no remedy, it's the deep dive you may need to do. If nothing else, at least check the connectors that are easy to access. You may get lucky and one of those connectors will be the culprit.
Good luck brother, keep the epic videos coming.
That *Rolling Stone* Tongue on the mountain cliff
can't get no satisfaction.
That mountain face has hot lips 💋 👅
Disabling the ABS is probably a good move. The only thing that is important is having a rear proportioning valve to regulate the braking effort based on the load over the rear axle. More weight means more braking can be applied. Not sure how thats rigged up on a GM van but it is important.
You did the first Summit on my Birthday!! So happy. Thanks for years of videos!
Thanks! Happy Birthday 🎂
I just hope you realise just how much you are both loved and how much freedom you bring to those off us who are unable to do this anymore love and hugs from the UK
Howdy friends 😁
Omg. Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Thank you
I feel that your drone footage from there is showing us the very climax of North America. It's almost too much, makes my heart gasp.
Thanks four eyes :) epic adventure, keep it up!
Hey Foresty. Right in the heart of my play area back end of the bush. On my chev truck I unplugged the unit on the frame that does its thing with the brakes. I was just in there with a heli with a friend a couple weeks ago. STUNNING VISTAS!!! ✌️
Those drone shots were fucking unreal!
just incredible place, overwhelming af!
That is indeed serious alpine excursion. Some on the edge climbing by your palls there. Not too good that you had to cross the glacier alone though. Good you got over without dropping in to some of the deeper trenches.
forest, we have the same van..there is a hugh electrical connection that is mounted on ur frame, mid way back..u might wanna check that out, ur electrical short..thanks for sharing..
1:49 wow! That mountain top is a giant overhang! 😮😃
UNBELIEVABLE!
Wow... Amazing scenery. Rocko is such a champ.
Car guy input on your van gremlins, any hot rod shop can tune out all of the abs/stabilitrac systems quite easily. Those Gm computers are very easy to manipulate.
Very nice video!
wow - the second half - the scenery was amazing :)
Hell yeah Corolla
They are great and go through alot
Thanks for showcasing the best POS ever
WOW! What an amazingly charmed, adventurous life you are living! I truly enjoy following you along on your adventures as I vicariously live through you via my couch 😜😂
I know youtube has to be a "weird" field to be in at times, but much respect. Stay true to you and keep following your passion. The shots you get, the hikes and work you put in, the dog love... One of my favorite youtube channels I never have to take a break from.
The views along the submit and those climbing footage are just, spectacular! nuff said!
Rocko. I so respect you know and honor your limits. Nice to meet your friends.
Have there ever been any strange encounters while you've been on your wilderness walks. Just curious as you hear loads of stories about it.
I’ve wondered that, too.
@knellwal You hear stuff about it all the time. Especially it being so vast a space and never had much human exploration makes you wonder 🤔
Beautiful scenery, as usual😊
Thank you!
Absolutely stellar content on this channel. So glad I found it a few years ago. Beautiful views and amazing scenery.
I'm probably with Madison in terms of mountains but your friends doing Lyall 4 and 5?! Wow. The drone footage was amazing. Like you say, its hard to believe such places exist. Another great vid. Thanks!
Enjoying new angle of your video camera placement..keep it up.
What a beautiful video. And what a great travel companion Rocko is. Safe travels!
Amazing all the time!
My Dear Lone Wolf,
My respect for you grows with each video.
I don't know what else 🐢
Foresty, I appreciate ya. Father Time has caught up with me so it is looking like my big time summit days are over but living vicariously through you medicates that wound. Thank you
Stunning views! Thanks for sharing! Sketchy decent!
Thank you for sharing! It's amazing !
\
Rocko must be one of the most elevated canines in history. Another entertaining vlog, with great video quality - spectacular. Cheers 👍👍
wow, that rock face with all the waterfalls is incredible. And the scale is so big that at times it looks like a flat painting, kind of like the grand canyon. So scary crossing that ice field alone! Have you considered carrying a couple extra pairs of socks? If you take off the wet ones and wear the second pair for maybe an hour, then change to the 3rd pair, you end up with pretty dry feet. I do this when I need to break in a pair of boots. Just put them in a bucket of hot water for an hour, put them on and just change socks a few times. By the end of the day, the boots fit my feet.
This was a great video
AMAZING!
big thanks for sharing :)
Rocko has to be roped in during glacier travel please!
10:18. No, just no! I don't blame you for not heading up there, awesome footage though!
I think you need a safety rope on your little doggie. Thanks for the gorgeous aerial shots! Could not stop saying “WOW!” A grizzly bear!😮
That mountain face needs another episode
That mouth needs a fooking Cheese Burger. 🍔
I worry so much about your dog! When you showed the ice splits I could barely look
Bears know how to avoid crevasses?
Makes you wonder how many bears are trapped inside glaciers 🤔
Hell yeah
Try pulling the fuse ..: I had a Chevy it start getting me problems
Madison is beautiful, I'll subscribe to her. As I previously mentioned, your drone shots are epic. I think you should be working in film. Please work in film... They need your help 😂❤😂😂😂😂
These videos have such a positive effect on my mental health. I understand that it might be a huge responsibility for you to have thousands of people that love and adore you and your content. It's wonderful to hear that you are enjoying yourself and we can feel your enjoyment climbing, hiking, camping and eating what you have cooked. Thank you for everything that you do here for us on RUclips!
Amen to all that! I just love this guy!❤❤
💕💞💓💓💗💗💖💝♥️💘💝💞💞💓💗💖💖💝💝💗💓💜💜💜💙💚🧡🧡💛💚💓💓💗💖💝❣️❣️💔💔💔❤️🩹♥️💖💗💖
Yes !!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤
Right on!!!
Well said. I feel the same.
Well done Madison, & Forestry. Trying, and quiting is good. We don't want injuries or death.
This video is a great example of knowing your limits. No matter how good you are there is always someone “better”. Always know when to call it quits, and to sit back and enjoy the view!
Incredible footage.
Definitely... When you don't respect your limits and listen to you gut, that is when you get injured or killed. It doesn't matter how good you are or how many times you done something right, because it only has to go wrong once.
I’m enjoying your humility in certain situations. How you back out if you’re not feeling it. So many people don’t do that or heed to their internal cautions and it ends up in a disaster or life lost. Always a joy to watch you and that little beast Rocko!!!
Inspiring. My senior terrier & I climbed a small hill today in Rocko’s honor.
Those waterfalls were amazing...Forestry you scale those mountains just like a mountain goat..effortlessly. Rocko is such a happy little dog thanks to your lifestyle.
Foresty Forest! New subscriber here... Or Foresty Fiend. I Discovered Your Channel a couple weeks ago, and have shamelessly binged over 100 of Your Episodes. I don't Plan on stopping anytime soon either! Thank you for creating such an Amazing Work of Art, and sharing Your Story. You are an Inspiration to many. Be safe out there eh!
Thank you, thank you!! Welcome to the channel 😊
Happy to be here man. thank you! 🙏🏼🏔️
You've found a great channel. It truly is one of the best on RUclips!
Exactly what I did when I discovered this amazing channel.
Yep did same thing! Lol
Later you will get mad at yourself cause you will see an old video & wonder how the heck that didn’t make it in the binge watching 😂
😲 WOW! Your friends climbing up that mountain! Wholly crap! 😮. Amazing views all around there , but very dangerous! Thanks for taking us along and thumbs UP!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Who are these crazy adventurers?❤
Know your limits! You’re a wise man Foresty.
The drone footage of the waterfalls and mountains was incredible.
Jaw dropping ❤
Rocko summits these mountains like its nothing. Absolutely incredible.
She's a badass little dog. Her little leg muscles alone are impressive.
4 wheel drive helps
Why do you find this incredible? It’s a animal, that’s what they do. Don’t get me wrong, Rocko is a great Dog ❤
Rocko is AMAZING for such a little Dog. She IS "Mighty Dog" !!
Yes she is full of muscle too 💪
As a disabled middle aged man I live vicariously through these videos! Please keep up the great work! We love you and Rocko.❤
“Getting to the top is optional. Getting down is mandatory.”
Kinda cool for those two guys that you did stay back & get that awesome footage of them. I am so glad you & Rocko were safe. What views to take in!
Thank you for taking us all to such gorgeous places on earth. Most of us will never be able to go but you captured it for us all
Wow! It’s such another world to me. Beautiful, scary, serene, terrifying, epic, heart-pounding! I went through all of these emotions while sitting comfortably in my comfy chair. Hats off to you and your friends for doing these things just because you want to! Cheers!
It isn't just that you take us with you and do the extra work and expend that extra energy to do so, it is also that you do so with such a humble spirit and when you reach your limit you are not only at peace with your effort but also excited to focus on those who went on. In a world of 'me first and selfies' you are shining star to not have fallen into that trap. As always your photography is so stunning and brings to all who see it such amazing natural beauty. 💛 Thank you.
Thanks! I love your cinematography and rolling commentary. (Fantastic editing, too!) Who knew a guy a dog and a van could be must watch TV
I enjoy seeing you climb those summits and I also enjoy seeing you decide not to risk it and to turn around. As Dirty Harry said, "A man's gotta know his limitations!" You have Rocko to consider also because I'm pretty sure she would follow you anywhere you decided to go so it's nice to see you keeping her relatively safe. Those Canadian Rockies are breathtakingly beautiful but I'm glad I can see that beauty from the comfort of my own little house!
No words, awe inspiring, terrifying and comforting as well, the shot of you sitting on the rock chair at the end..at one with it all.
Thank you for taking us along. Rocko won the big prize when you picked her. A dogs life! : )
Your videos are always a breath of fresh air. Thank you!
Thank you, nice of you to say that!
Your choice of music is spot on. Your video production is so amazing. I'm glad you and everyone are safe.
Wish i could love this more than once. Absolutely breathtaking scenery on that headwall, and Foresty's cinematography is first rate ❤. When subscribers say this is hands down one of the best YT channels out there, they're 100% right
Thank you Andrea. That's very nice of you to say!
WOW the waterfalls crashing down the side of the mountain were beautiful 😎✌
Another epic video. Thanks.
Thank you!
them waterfalls at 7:30 are amazing! thanks for showing us these great places!
Your videos add so much value to my quiet life!! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Thank you 😊
Nope. How y'all can do this is simply astounding.
Madison: “I…I can’t go on. I must stop….” Foresty: “ Ok. Peace out ✌️ “ 😂😂😂
Foresty is in his prime. I'm sure she thought he would wait; but in reality, he's got summits he needs to reach. Like she said, 'you make it look easy..'
Keep on keeping on Forresty Forrest
As usual your videos are on another level. Outstanding drone footage of you buddy’s climbing 👍
So that’s what the summit looked like 😅… Was still a fun day! Tell Rocko I miss her.
Was a fun day indeed!! Hopefully next time Kyro can come and meet Rocko 😊
Jaw dropping footage. That multi waterfall area is unreal. Just awesome!
Wow... what the heck!! BC is by far one of the most magnificent places, beauty abounding. Thank you every single time, Foresty for some of the best footage out there!! Your videos never disappoint!!!! God's protection on you always.
Absolute fantastic 😃 after 5 years you still amaze me with your creativity, camera work, editing and voiceover. A wonderful episode 🙏. Nice glasses 🤓. 😜 Really nice 👍
Favorite part was those waterfalls!
Very beautiful and very scary. Amazing views but the ice field could have been game over. Please be careful Simon and you too Rocko!
Forest: "They've improved the roads" as he drives through a river
The images and videos you capture and create are always amazing, but this time….absolutely SPECTACULAR!!
Thank you for being you, and sharing your life. You are very much appreciated.
I was looking at some analytics on the video I really still yesterday. And that's how I found your Channel. This amazing video is recommending mine about 3% of the time so I thought let me check it out and Wallah you got another subscriber! I have to say your camera work is incredible! I will definitely be going back and checking out some of your other Adventures absolutely amazing
What's with the waterfall coming out of the giant skull mouth?! That's crazy cool 🖤
Yeah looks like something out of a movie 😯
@@forestyforest yeah it does! I love seeing nature's unusual features. Thank you for sharing 😊👍
Just Amazing!!!! Answers all my questions as I drive through on the main highways, can you actually climb to the tops of these mountains. YES! Well yes for you young farts, I'm 70 now and in great shape but not enough to make the top I don't think besides I am a Bear magnet, it never fails on any hike I do I attract Bears, I was charged by. Grizzly in the Kananankis and that was horrifying as he growled like my X, But I lived to tell the story with the Bear and my X. Thanks for the great video mate.
Breathtaking scenery! Very intense trek, my friend. Much love to you and Rockostar.
Brave souls. That was really.... I have no words...
This is some national geographic level shots. Freaking awesome!
Hey Forest, curious, seeing where you are, would you ever consider putting a harness on Rocko with a long lead in case she falls.? A friend of my climbs and her pup fell, but she had a harness on her so she was ok. Beautiful footage of the mountains. Absolutely spectacular. Thanks for taking us on your journeys.
