Madness one step beyond reaction ruclips.net/video/jW1L10xRV6E/видео.html
Watched it, damn lad, you crack me up, you are very entertaining to watch
This is definitely a band where you need to watch their official videos. They are so much fun, completely daft and very British.
Those vids often have such low volume you cant even jam.
The Nutty boys are brilliant every video is a 😆. The Queen didn’t even mind her gaff being used as a backdrop for a live Our House during the celebrations for her 90th birthday!
You can tell he didnt grow up in the good MTV video years! This is a fun video..you are correct.
Lol karaoke vid with madness is sacrelage. Watch the official vid aswell they are the nutty boys.
And yet after watching the doco or movie about how they started the pianist was so driven to succeed and wouldn't stand for any crap
Madness - One Step Beyond! Mad tune. Mad. Grrrreat memories!
Yes! One Step Beyond!
My son is 7 and is a huge madness fan . inroducwd by his dad of course.
Night boat to cairo.
Bring back the prince
HEY YOU, DON'T WATCH THAT, WATCH THIS....
Baggy trousers , embarrassment , house of fun , so so many more ! 😁👍🇬🇧✌️🙏
One step beyond or Nightboat to Cairo?
Embarrassment was really heartfelt
Bed and Breakfast Man
@@othermotte I seem to recal it was about the reaction of a freinds family when they started dating someone who was black.
@@mrblue193 Yes that's right, although it was prompted by an impending birth, as explained by the girl that was born and the writer of the song in this clip ruclips.net/video/xMQU5btgw78/видео.html
This was their only big hit in the US but they are big in Britain.
Yes quite right Britain Britain enjoys houses that's in the middle of the street they do they like that there
they are not big in Britain - they are HUGE and adored
And they were bigger in Japan.
You spelled huge wrong.
@@eightieslivenow7579 They were big in Germany :-), a few years back I went to a Madness concert in Berlin
Madness and the Specials in one night? What a treat to hear for the first time!
@Gerald H & Bad Manners
Madness - two tone - ska.
Big in the UK even today - and still touring to ginormous followings up and down the country.
Dig into their catalogue, bro.
Check out 'It Must Be Love'
I went to a Madness concert in London, and it was in a pretty fancy theatre. At the break, ladies came around selling ice lollies (ice cream on a stick) from a tray that they wore around their necks! It was fantastic, and they played over two hours, and Elvis Costello came out as a surprise to sing on one song. Fun fact, I still have my concert sweatshirt!
They are a lot of fun. I'd go with "House of Fun" or "It Must Be Love" next.
Yes, do House of Fun
Yes that’s exactly what I’m trying to say in my rambling posts!!!
Return of the los palmos 7
Night Boat to Cairo
The Prince was one of their best
Baggy Trousers by Madness was the first song I ever bought aged 9 in 1980,they spent more weeks in the U.K. charts than anyone else in the 80's and still going strong
'Baggy Trousers' was the song my cousin played to me in 1980! (The first Madness song I heard.) Will never forget that moment :D
it was always madness or adam ant at no1 haha
One of my first, too.
For me, Baggy Trousers was my first ever record and as I have always been a bit OCD, even as a kid, I still have the single in its original sleeve and in perfect condition, it’s quite special to me 😎
Thank you Jayvee for caring about the quality, it does make a big difference. I love that you did that. This song was always just a fun song to sing. Great review... you got it!
The video is fun tho...
I can turn up the volume on my device and so can he. You can not get the same feeling watching a lyric video that you do when watching an actual video. Sorry but that is the truth. The video he missed because is something to actually react to. I can not beleive he actually said he was going to make it better.
If this is his opinion STOP REACTING TO VIDEOS AND JUST LISTEN TO THE SONGS on Spotify
Madness videos were fab, and so cheap
@@claytoncourtney1309 but at the same time he can focus on the song and then watch the video.
I really appreciate that you up the volume on your songs. Makes the vibe fun :))
yea lol but then I found a remastered video afterwards
@@JayveeTV I saw😁 Meant in general. Often a reactors voice is significantly louder than the vid.
@@JayveeTV I have said it on a few comments but I am disapointed you did that. You can turn up the volume and so can we but a lyric video, especially that one where it seemed like the person that made was more interested in the cool things they could do than actually showing the lyrics, is a step backward.
Madness was the fun band of the 80's and they made some great video's to accompany their songs so if you do get the chance to watch the video to this i would highly recommend it.
Seeing the official videos are a must with Madness, I love them lol.
@@mezellenjohnson2753 makes me proud to be from uk
@@markharding47 same here Mark, I have never seen them live but love them just the same. God bless you love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK
This was the cutest song. My niece loved it when she was a toddler and now she has a toddler of her own.
I love watching Americans loving British music makes me proud of are eclectic taste
Such a great band. Seeing them live is like being at a party with your best friends.
Great song choices tonight xxx
I can vouch for that :-)
Madness is not only talented but they always have fun with their videos and music . Also they have their own sound . Thank you for the reaction and great video :) ✌️
About as London as it gets🇬🇧
Blur - Parklife excepted, of course ;)
CHAS AND DAVE
Future Sound of London
Which is why I could not wait to the see THe London scenes in the video:)
I just love the video to Our house at the start, where he is stumbling around asking people have you seen my house. Quintessentially English
This type of music is called 'Ska' Ska is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. It combined elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues. Ska is characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the off beat.
@King Of The Pipe also this particular song is not ska at all. It's just a pop song
Oh yeah react to the song Rock Steady by the Whispers!! It’s a great rockin’ song!!!
@King Of The Pipe two-tone was the record label that all the ska revival bands such as The Specials, The Beat, The Selector etc used. Probably a reference to the black and white fashion of the era. Madness soon moved to Stiff records.
@@frosksdeadteeth5163 Two Tone was the Specials Jerry Dammers own record label.
Our House is not a ska song, it’s a pop song
You need to check out their high-energy "One Step Beyond." The video is a must-see.
I love that song - so easy to remember the lyrics, LOL 😆
@neatdesign. 😂🤣😂🤣
This band were massive in the UK in the 80s. Their videos were legendary. A group of lads from London who were always fun to watch and listen to.
My Grandsons, who are 10 and 6 years old, were singing this on Sunday.....Where they had heard it from I don't know.... Any guesses?
❤️Love Madness❤️
It's being used in a commercial currently.
We have a 10 year old girl who loves watching madness for about 2 years now and its not what we listen to.
It's probably Tik Tok. I'll check with my kids.
I’m thinking they heard it from Grandma? 🤔😂👍💖
There is a new show for kids on the Disney channel called Owl House with the same music to sing along with 🤣
I was so obsessed with this in 1983 I still bump and yes get up and dance dance and dance ❤️🔥💣 Go watch the video you will be addicted 🔥
As a parent this song makes me cry. The grown children singing about all the life and love in their family growing up. Slays me.
Another essential is "Come Dancing" by the Kinks.
Great song
A totally sad song when you hear the back story.
I remember that one, Love It.
Nice, but there are better Kinks tracks!
@@sixpakshaker88 Bummer that is sad, I only knew the even more upbeat cover by Good Riddance
I notice alot of reactors do the same song from a band ,try one step beyond,or nightboat to Cairo, baggy trousers, grey day ,the list is huge.
One of the best Uk bands ever. Just do all of their tunes. I'm surprised no one's done Wing of a dove yet?
You might like the 12 inch maxi single version of Madness's "Our House."
You might like nearly every single of theirs that hit the UK top 40.
Aww, was hoping you could watch the official video, it's so much fun! But YAY for Madness! I was supposed to see them during their 40th Anniversary tour this past spring but of course it got canceled...hopefully things will be better for concerts next year.
Also the singer, Suggs, looks the same now as he did in the 1980s
I saw them live last summer on their 40th anniversary tour. They’re still superb.
React to Madness "It must be love". Trust me...
Agree
Played at many a wedding!
Try the band BEAUTIFUL SOUTH at this time as well. Harmonies to die for. Brilliant brilliant musicians.
Literally came here to say this! 100%, amazing band.
I couldn't agree more.
Original line up or later line up?
Ben Little original line up with Briana Corrigan. Let Love Speak Up Itself is one of my favourites.
A little Time! Love the video to that as well ❤
Watch the video, it matches the fun vibe of the song. House of Fun next, would like to see if can work out what it's about 😉
Yup, Madness videos are an essential watch as they enhance the Madness 'experience' :-)
Yes. Love the songs but it's the videos that add that fun element to Madness.
Check out Madness playing Night Boat to Cairo and/or One Step Beyond on The Old Grey Whistle Test. Great songs and you will see the energy in the dancing and the attitude in the clothes. The dancing really kept us fit and as a teenage girl at the time I loved the stylish suits and hats.
Madness One Step Beyond...always sets me up for a good day!
Madness - it must be love 👌
Love that you stopped to switch it up for better sound! 🔈🔉🔊
Madness were the first band i really loved. I grew up with them. Great review Jay.
Grey Day is another great song by them. Their nickname is "The Nutty Boys".
My favourite reaction of yours. I've watched this so many times. I love how much you like this, Madness are a British National Treasure. Glad you liked it. 👍
Brilliant British 80s band, all the songs were great hits
Your totally right, I am singing along to this. Fabulous.
Great to see your joy when you hear this. It's really infectious!
I was a teenager when this came out ( I'm old enough to be your dad ) and I'm glad you're loving this too .
They're a very happy band
Madness. Grown up with them listening to everything they did. Fantastic live. Love them. National Treasures
Love Madness....thank you sooo much! One of my very favorite songs in the early 80's (and there was A LOT of good stuff at the time!) Makes me think of a time when life was fun!
Them performing this on the roof of Buckingham Palace was pretty cool
'Wings of a Dove and 'Michael Caine' are their best next to 'Our House'
Yes Love Wings of a Dove! Rarely gets mentioned kudos mate!
This song and band was huge in England! One Step Beyond has all the instruments and shows their Ska style well. Loved this reaction and your appreciation for the band. Brings back lots of memories from when I was little and dancing with my parents in "our house."
"One Step Beyond"! Just the best. Love Madness.
bought this on 45 back in the day. Awesome song
It's such a happy song!! Me and my sister used to put our own lyrics. Lots of fun.
I love the line that says ‘there’s always something happening and it’s usually quite loud’
Loads of hits but I love It Must Be Love - incredible cord change as the bridge starts
Wonderful band. One of the best to come out of our country, [the UK]. Loved them for years.
Madness..''welcome to the house of fun'' Thye Specials..''Ghost town'' Classic Britsh S.K.A music.
Kelli Lawrence Ghost Town is classic
TOO MUCH TOO YOUNG
Don’t think they ever did a bad tune, do more 👍
Proper band, proper instruments. Grew up listening to Madness, was obsessed. Started my journey into loving music.
Madness are famed as the band that caused an earthquake: 4.2 on the Richter Scale. Their audience for an open air concert in 1992 in Finsbury Park in London was so large that when they began their song One Step Beyond the audience dancing caused several felt earthquakes and multi story tower blocks several miles away in Tottenham swayed, it cracked windows and a balcony. Several panicked people phoned the police thinking it was a bomb, and the police and Fire Service spent hours trying to find out what caused it. London is not considered seismically active. www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/publications/annual_reports/1993_4th_annual_report.pdf
Michael Caine and Wings Of A Dove are two classics
That song always makes me smile :)
Always best to listen to Madness with the volume cranked up ;-) My first album Complete Madness, they are still going strong and amazing live. They smashed 'Our House' singing live on top of Buckingham Palace (the Queens house) for her Jubilee celebrations here in the UK. Part of the British Ska movement. My personal fav' 'It Must Be Love' but if you want another belter 'Baggy Trousers' , loved you reaction !
I remember stepping into the new place in the back yard ,brother and his wife living in a camper,he rebuilt it she decorated and keep it spotlessly.
It so cute.I walked in singing this song.He got mad thinking making fun. my sister in law loved ,laughing and that encouraged me more. 😂❤️👩🏼🦳
I'd really recommend "One Step Beyond' by Madness. Great instrumental track.
M.A.D.N.E.S.S So pleased to finally see someone react to this great band. A few of my favourites are - Shut Up, The Prince, It Must Be Love and Baggy Trousers.
How could you go all your life so far without hearing this wonderful song? That's so sad!!
Welcome to Madness. Wonderful since even I was young! : )
Oh I absolutely loved that song. Awesome jam 🙌🔥💗. Always a fun song 🎶🎵💃💥
This song is all about memories and sentimentality.
This brings back memories. Ska bands like Madness really blew up in the early 80's
Their video is awesome. Love this tune. Do it again with the video!
Who could write something so catchy with a half speed break-down for the chorus? Such a GREAT song!!
'Night Boat To Cairo' next please? Oh and 'Baggy Trousers' of course
NIGHT BOAT TO CAIRO 👍
Sorry, my bad... edited
My favorite song of theirs is "One Step Beyond". Madness is fun, love them.
Loved that song, way back when. 👍 Txs for turning it up! 👍
Fun reaction! Glad you switched it up. Sounded so much better! Plus I like having the lyrics on the screen. Fun reaction Jo Vaughn! You are the best!
Their videos are funny, so it's worth going back and watching them.
I love the horns!
Madness are the best band I’ve seen live. Everyone of there songs is amazing. Songs you must check out are: house of fun, it must be love, baggy trousers, one step beyond, my girl, embarrassment, wings of a dove, the prince. These are their best songs (probably in order too)
You have to try and check them out live if you can as well
“One Step Beyond”!!!!
Ok this was great for morning coffee! Greetings from Cambodia all. Good stuff growing up😉😂
Jay!! Check out "One Step Beyond" by Madness. -- Video starts out strange, but a GROOVY tune. And excellent saxophone solo.
Jayvee you have to see them life. The band is great and the fans are Madness. All ages and the 50+ still go crazy and dance there hearts out. 😁
I love the lyrics of this. So simple yet they sum up so many people's childhoods so well.
Welcome to the 80s.... beware if it grabs you it wont let you go.... and thats not a bad thing
Lol soo true
'Baggy Trousers' next! I appreciate the way you noticed the inferior sound on the video -- seems to happen a lot with these '80s songs. Most other reactors don't care, they just get distracted by the promo-video.
Ah man, so glad you’ve done a Madness video! Check out “Baggy Trousers” and “One Step Beyond” for more musical madness! 😜
When they played an outdoor gig in London around a decade ago as the crowd joined in singing and dancing it set of warning alarms in buildings surrounding the area.. thinking it was an earthquake.
It’s said that Madness were so loud it is the only concert volume ever mentioned on the Richter Scale !
You should check out Talking Heads "Burning down the house" 🙌
crosseyed and famous, girlfriend is better, once in a lifetime.
Check out the Madness song "Embarrassment" - released in 1980 - the subject matter is quite controversial, I believe it was based on a true story.
One of the bands sister
From what I remember, their videos are well worth checking out too, though I don't know how they've aged. I remember them being fun at the time. Madness were huge for a while and most of their stuff is fast and furious and fun.
The song I used to mourn my dad, reminiscence of our house in the middle of a simple street. It's Madness ♥️
Madness "Driving in my car".
Really enjoy how you embrace all music, Try house of fun or it must be love x
They had lots of hits very talented down to earth and summed up the times of their teenage years.Love the way you listen to and talk about the lyrics 👏👏👍🌟✨🎺🎷🥁🎹🎧🥁🎸
"HEY YOU, DON'T WATCH THAT, WATCH THIS..." Dude, check out "One Step Beyond", it will change your life... The BEST Madness song
Went to the party in the park concert a stranger jumped on my shoulders and we got trampled, great fun.
You should try One step beyond, house of fun and baggy trousers, brilliant songs and a lot of fun
HAHAHAHA... loved the way you went “That doesn’t sound right.” With the first video. You have a great ear for music and clearly enjoy doing what you do.. 👊🏻👍🏻
In 1980 every kid in England loved Madness. They were so refreshing.
Gotta listen to House of Fun
House of Fun is a good one too. The Nutty Boys are the best.
This is a cover of the original from 1964 by Prince Buster. Madness take their name from the Song Madness by Prince Buster. On their 1st album they do a few covers of Prince Buster along with a tribute to him “Bring Back the Prince”. The song One Step Beyond is also used by Chelsea of the Barclays Premier League after they win at home. Imagine 40,000 people all humming this tune while the players dance on the pitch.
