Let me know what you think about flying at night. I find it to be fascinating and very peaceful. Thanks for watching!
AFAIK my 107 night waiver is good for any Class G airspace for 3 years. I think it took around 30 days to get.
I love night flying!
That transition at 3:38 🔥
Great music too! :)
Great video!!! I purchased my mavic Air when it was released and learned a lot from your videos. You’re a great teacher!
Got some dang nice transitions there!
This was 🔥 thank you!! Great flying!!
Great video! This is the style of video I enjoy the most.
Thank Jerry, i had fun putting this together too!
Wow... really cool video! Thanks for showing!
Thank you Chris!
I love it, a nice way to follow the rules and flip the bird to the government at the same time. Subbing now. Filter was a great choice for this filter review. :)
Where u buy it
As you might've guessed already, this filter only really makes sense if you shoot with the sky in frame. It pays off even more if you shoot with the sky in frame in a place with already little or no light pollution. Doing a long exposure time lapses may show you quite a couple stars.
Awesome 😮
Like the intro man. Great review
Subscribing just because of how he broke that Faa mess down!!
Great video
Nice editing 🤘
Downtown Raleigh I love it… I was gonna do the same thing, you just inspired me to do so… we should link up …I could learn a lot from you
Interesting idea, flying at night. I do it, but I am usually in a plane! :)
Great shots Jeff! I've flown at night but have had my hands actually shaking on the sticks nervous about flying into an invisible wire or an antenna or something. Familiarity with your flight path and scoping it out during the day should probably be stressed as mandatory.
Thanks NoSlopp! Definitely good points. I found myself flying higher too (300-400) for the same reasons.
Very good won’t to give it a try thanks for sharing
Nice shot
‘Filter” kicks ass.
Only Gen-x knows👍
Great video Jeff, it’s crazy how the Fed works I don’t understand the purpose of the 107, although I have mine.
Ha ha, i know what you mean UAS Flight. I was trying to explain it to my wife and she was like... What does the FAA have to do with monetization on youtube?
I really enjoyed the flight, I almost never fly mine at night, will have to find a time/place to do it. I did expect to see more comparative, side-by-side footage.
Thanks DowneastUS, you are right...should have done more comparisons. Thanks for the feedback.
This can be very useful. Thank you for sharing this I will definitely look into it.
Thank you Evan!
Another nice and useful video !!! What color profile do you suggest for night?
standard or Dlog-m ?
I was waiting for your opinion at the end of the video ...For the filter .....
Hi Chris, thank you very much. I shot all of this in Dlog-M (+1, -1, 0). The only thing i did differently on this was to shoot in aperture priority mode so i could set it at f2.8. The mavic adjusted the shutter speed and ISO automatically. This worked out well for nighttime flights.
is there a huge difference using the filter?
As soon as you are in the system
They use it to control you more. I’ve found this out myself going from hobbyist to survey drone pilot. Money money money
I love the footage. My question is how were you able to use Filter's music without getting a copyright strike? I would love to use actual music I listen to in my videos.
How did you do 3:25 did you use hyperlapse? Or did you record with light and no light then cut it by pieces? Please reply I have a vision to do a video
jeff what the best filter to take video and photo night time in sky
Hello, are these filters coated on the outside or inside of the lens or are they integrated into the glass?
I really like the music and all the footage , how about your settings?
aperture 11, ISO 200? shutter?
Thanks man, great video... and yeah for me is very peaceful to watch night flights
Thanks Rodrigo, i appreciate that. I shot all of this in Dlog-M (+1, -1, 0). The only thing i did differently on this was to shoot in aperture priority mode so i could set it at f2.8. The mavic adjusted the shutter speed and ISO automatically.
@@JeffGreeneChannel Perfect Jeff good to know, and thank you for your quick response, you make nice, short, practical videos I really like the peace of all your videos
@@rodrigoaparicio4861 thanks buddy!
Great to see your Drone videos again Jeff. Especially of the home town of Raleighwood. Fayetteville St was vacant. So assume an hour or so before sunrise?
Hey what's up Allen! I had a blast making this vid in Raleighwood. Yep this was all done around 6:30 a.m.
@@JeffGreeneChannel well you did your usual excellent job. You get tired of doing home repair videos or did you finish it up? Been doing more camera photo work here vs drone flying. got to get back to more flying.
@@allenoakley1799 I have 1 more home repair video that I am thinking about posting. I built a screen porch door from scratch using mortis and tenon joints. It's a bit off the usual drone subject matter but I really enjoyed the process of the build.
@@JeffGreeneChannel well being a wood worker I'd like to see it.
@@allenoakley1799 cool will do! Would like your feedback for sure!
Nice that you are trying to follow the rules, but my understanding is that you may not fly over vehicles and people that are not part of your shoot. I guess you can pick and choose which rules you want to follow.
I think that is only based on if you are using it for work purposes
What’s the verdict on the filter? Worth it for night time photos do you think?
Hi Lyndon, 2 things....1- The filter gives a cleaner/bluer shot compared to no filter. So this comes down to preference. I think it looks better than the orange/brown glow from streetlights without the filter. What do you think? 2- For long exposure photography it can also help in shorter duration exposure (1 sec). In any drone, i have not had good results with anything over 1 second for a shutter speed due to the quads movement while hovering. No fault of the filter. So you're not going to be getting shots of the stars or milky way or things like that. I like it for nighttime flying for sure, however i would put it in the nice to have category because it is a one trick pony type of filter.
Good choice of music dude 👊
Thanks Ryan!
@@JeffGreeneChannel keep them videos coming I just got a mavic pro 2 after flying fpv for 4 yrs now what a big learning curve but I'm picking it up fast
bloody awful!
Is this what yall do to make money flying drones? I wanna get into it but idk how or where to start
Surely it's if you're flying under the part 107 terms and conditions then part 107 terms apply.
If you're not using the extra provisions you're granted under part 107, then you're just a hobbyist and free to fly as needed.
Edit: glad to see you came to the same conclusion.
In the UK overflying a built up area as a hobbyist is a huge no-no. So we'd have to fly under our commercial drone pilot licence. Though hobbyists aren't allowed to fly at night either here. :)
fuck the rules
Thanks for the video, even though you turn off monitization it was that the FAA would deam this type of video as the furtherance are promoting a company. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. I do agree that it's ridiculous that a hobbist can fly at night and a part 107 holder can't.
Hi David, this is such a weird issue isn't it? I can't imagine that FAA would care about this at all really. I wouldn't consider this as furtherance or promoting any company or business. There's no agreement or contract in place of any kind. My thoughts are that this is simply a demonstration. I also used copyrighted music to further the point that i have nothing to gain other than hopefully creating a video that others would enjoy watching. What i can't understand is how the FAA has any jurisdiction at all over RUclips content.
What’s the name of 3:25 effect please I need to learn it
What's buy link
Can you explain 3:37 - 3:41 ?
Couldnt agree more on the ridiculousness of having to have a waiver as part 107 holder but not as a hobbyist! You would think it would be the other way around.. On a side note, it always worries me to fly over roads and cars... Isn't that against all drone regulations?
more like government beat up video rather than filter review 🤣
You're still not selling anything. all's you're doing is a product review that you're not being paid for. you are doing it for your own personal experience
"laws" are to be broken......
music is awful
