Freewell is back with some of my favorite filters, the ND1000 and ND2000 neutral density filters. These filters are perfect for long exposure photos during the day. In this video, I walk you through the steps I take when choosing the right filter strength for long exposure photography.

I love your videos. Here's a little easier way. Set your shutter speed to 1 second. Point to where you want to have proper exposure. Increase shutter speed till that area is properly exposed. Count how by how many stops you needed to increase. Choose proper ND. This way you eliminate trial and error.
How do you count stops Steve?
@@beejoutbush3322 one stop is doubling of the shutter speed. If you start at SS 100 then one stop would be 200 two stops would be 400 three stops would be 800 and so on.

I thought an ND1000 would have been enough, but you covered how easy it is to preset your shots with your setup. Thank you for the helpful production.

Great video so now I know what Nd filters to use. I always have lots of problems with dji's original set of ND's.😑I wish dji's fpv drones had Nd filters.

Great video as always. Thanks for all the info. Wondering if you have a 2000ND filter or kit that will fit the Mavic Air 2. Ive been looking online but only find stuff for Mavic s and Mavic Pro. Comments say they do not fit.

Hey Aldryn, what if you were to leave the shutter speed to auto and all other settings fixed? With the ND filter installed wouldn't the app automatically adjust the shutter speed for the best possible exposure that would also give you that motion blur? Thanks.

This helped a lot but I have one question. Coming from someone new to drones. What's the use of the CPL filter, is it like a full combination of the other filters from 4 -2000ND/PL ,I want to know it's range if F-stops

@@FlytPath I went with PolarPro filters for my Mavic Pro 1. How do you rate the Freewell compare to the PolarPro?
What filters would you use to make light trails long exposure photos?
Should I get the fly more pack if I am going to buy those filters anyway?
The freewell filters nd 4-64 are polarized so they are different than the ones in the fly more. The fly more is mostly for batteries and bag, the filters are a bonus. So this freewell set is a good addition.

Will I damage the camera if I open the shutter for a long time without a filter?
Wont damage it but you wont get anything usable so not sure the point unless shooting at night.

Of course not. The air 2s has a bigger camera (1 inch sensor).
