Very nice review. I'm thinking about getting the YS640. Reading the forums online about rust issues is having me reconsider the YS and if I should should stay with my Green Moutain or get the Kamado Joe. Can you tell a difference from your stock burner?
Thanks for watching and commenting 🔥 I’ve had my Yoder 2 years with zero rust. I keep it covered and use cast iron oil on the outside after each use. The Lang is brand new, so time will tell. But I have owned a ton of smokers in my lifetime. The light sanding and spray painting is common and simple to do. I wouldn’t let the rust issue stop you. 🔥🍻🙌🏻
I appreciate your review, thank you for doing it. I am not being critical or judgemental towards you when I say this. Personally: I was fortunate enough to be taught early on to always always keep my grills grates cleaned and well oiled no matter what or rust will quickly set in. I see this has happened to you. You, not the only RUclipsr I see doing grill reviews with rusty grates even though yours are only slightly rusty, it shows up well in the sunlight. Just something to think about. I am thinking seriously about getting one of these grills. My buddy has the Traeger 34 and he loves it to the moon and back. Good job thanks for doing the review!
I clean after every cook. I vacuum ash after every cook. I use cast iron oil after every cook. The sunlight is showing an odd glare on those, but they are high temp grates, and it’s not rust. I cook on those specific grates at 500+ degrees. Something you cant do on a Traeger. That’s the color you see ...from the high temp usage. It’s not rusty. You can see how clean the stainless grates are. This smoker has had a ton of use. I’ve done around 600 cooks on it. It’s also stored outdoors in extreme Midwestern temperatures. I don’t think you would find a grill/smoker in better shape for the usage.
@@sonartech7721 returned 4 Traegers that is not operator error. First one auger broke and paint chipped all over the Traeger so they replaced it,second one auger broke, third one auger broke ,and finally 4th one auger broke. Thank god got Costco return policy. No operator error at all. Have a reqteq now for 4 years AND NOT ONE MALFUNCTION AT ALL! It’s Traeger they are junk!
@@donmckenzie5027 So because the giant bloody spot on the brick wall wasn’t large enough from beating your head against it the First AND Second time they didn’t allegedly work, you went back not a Third BUT a Fourth time as well? Bravo to Home Depot and Traeger. Positive I would have never admitted any of that myself. As a way to offer the olive branch on their behalf let me propose a few ideas you can go try that I PROMISE you will work the first time: Skydiving without a parachute. Bungee jumping without the cord. Taking a cruise in shark infested waters on a sinking ship. You’re welcome. Oh and my smoker still works just fine, just sayin.
@@sonartech7721 Traeger are junk and as the famous words of our beloved Sonar Tech77 would say “just sayin” lmao. You keep cooking with that cheap Chinese smoker! It will break on you and when it does you won’t admit it just sayin lmao! Tool!
Nice, can't wait to get my ys640s next summer
Certainly does look nice!
Thanks for watching and commenting...I love it! 🔥😎

@@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs guess I will be an owner. I take care of my things.
Looks great bro!!! Subscribed!!
Thanks man. Hope all is well! 🔥🍻😃
How many beef briskets would this hold? Once a year I cook for a large group of people and wonder if it would hold 4 beef briskets. Thanks.
4 would be tight, but possible. You would have to be creative with how you lay them out. I’ve done it before.

@@FIREDUpBrewsBBQs Gotcha.
I’m really torn between the 640 and the recheck 700 bull. Open to anyone’s thoughts. Thanks for the video
RecTec
RecTec is fine. I have friends who own them. I consider Yoder a superior product, but that’s just my opinion. Both do the job.
I have the recteq 700 bull and its lights out incredible
I was considering Traeger prior to finding Yoder Smokers..... I would much rather keep my money in America vs. spending on something made in China.
Agree! Cheers!
Helped me go buy my Traeger Timberline 850. Thanks.
Traeger are junk!I have returned 4 at Costco and finally got the hint!
@@donmckenzie5027 Sounds like operator error to me. Mine is still going like a champ.
