    I had the same area radiation as you did. By far the best thing I did for myself was to drown my skin in heavy QV cream at night (wear a singlet to protect bedding and keep the cream on the skin) and a light QV cream daily. I reapplied the day cream @ 3 or 4 times a day. I researched and tested the creams before starting radiation because you can’t use a cream that contains oil and I have a lot of allergies. My skin only became pink on my last two days of treatment and within 3-4 weeks went totally back to normal. Drink lots of water and ‘move’ as you normally would if possible.

    Hi Chelsey, I also one of the Breast cancer fighter and going to have my radio therapy soon. I watched your sharing and you mentioned this lotion can be applied when you are doing your radio therapy, ( one day 5 times) will the lotion conflict with the therapy? I am not sure the nurse allow me to apply anything when I doing the radio therapy or not :( .. also the lotion can calm the skin like aloe vera gel does ? Oh yeah, I need to learn from you on the stretching exercises, would u mind to share with me as well ?

    • @ChelseyTarnow
      @ChelseyTarnow  2 года назад

      Good morning to you! I would make sure to check with your radiation team to see how they feel about you outting lotion on before treatment. I would put mine on in the morning, then if I had radiation after at around 11 I would put it on again after. It does help to sooth and hydrate the skin. Aloe was not a recommendation for me as it tends to dry out the skin. I hope this helps, wishing you all the best as you embark on this phase in your journey. Xo

      @@marilyn6068First I need to ask .. did you put on the Miaderm and Calendula creams before radiation? If you did, you’ve got protection. If not, all I can say is to buy MiadermL and slather your entire chest up to your mid-neck, your shoulder and below your breast. If you have blistering, start Aquafor. I’m still applying Miaderm and the area by my collarbone is still sensitive. I’ve heard other women say they use it for months! Sending you healing energy 🌟

    • @ChelseyTarnow

      I was! I chose to listen to my body and rest when I needed, but also keep moving when I needed (working out improves my mental state so much and I found it helped me cope).
      I was blessed to have lots of support during treatment. The cancer center was about 2 hours away and either my husband or my mom would drive me. However, if they weren't available I would have felt comfortable driving myself for radiation.
      Definitely loose clothing and no bra when possible to decrease any friction on the area.
