I had the same area radiation as you did. By far the best thing I did for myself was to drown my skin in heavy QV cream at night (wear a singlet to protect bedding and keep the cream on the skin) and a light QV cream daily. I reapplied the day cream @ 3 or 4 times a day. I researched and tested the creams before starting radiation because you can’t use a cream that contains oil and I have a lot of allergies. My skin only became pink on my last two days of treatment and within 3-4 weeks went totally back to normal. Drink lots of water and ‘move’ as you normally would if possible.
Thank you! These are great tips! I pray to have as awesome a result as you’ve had. The objective of enduring this treatment is to kill any residual cancer without deforming our skin and tissues. Yes I’d love to see the exercises that you used to stretch. Much appreciation!💛

I am going through radiation therapy for breast cancer now, I completed 7 sessions have 8 more to go, experienced red skin just like sun burn. I only wash the area with water no soap and apply bepanthene cream immediately after radiation and several times a day.
Thank you for sharing! What's bepanthene cream. Wishing you all the best in your next a session and sending positive vibes for quick healing one you are done💫🌱!
My radiologist is making me use cavilon spray. I really don't want to, as it is basically a barrier over your skin. I don't like using chemical manmade stuff from evil corporations. It's made by 3M.😕 I want to use natural things, but the hospital frowns upon it.
Hi Chelsey, I also one of the Breast cancer fighter and going to have my radio therapy soon. I watched your sharing and you mentioned this lotion can be applied when you are doing your radio therapy, ( one day 5 times) will the lotion conflict with the therapy? I am not sure the nurse allow me to apply anything when I doing the radio therapy or not :( .. also the lotion can calm the skin like aloe vera gel does ? Oh yeah, I need to learn from you on the stretching exercises, would u mind to share with me as well ?
Good morning to you! I would make sure to check with your radiation team to see how they feel about you outting lotion on before treatment. I would put mine on in the morning, then if I had radiation after at around 11 I would put it on again after. It does help to sooth and hydrate the skin. Aloe was not a recommendation for me as it tends to dry out the skin. I hope this helps, wishing you all the best as you embark on this phase in your journey. Xo
Here is the link to the stretching sequence that worked well for me to recover from my mastectomy ans support me through radiation. Feel free to modify to suit your needs, or check with your physio (if you see one). ruclips.net/video/p6SEFl6vWZo/видео.html
@@ChelseyTarnow thanks ! Do you start to apply the lotion few weeks prior to your radio therapy or only started the lotion once you get your radio therapy ? I am wondering can I start to use now instead of waiting as I tend to have dry skin
You may ask:). They actually didn't tag the spot for me, but I do recall my specialists saying they wish someone would have. They mentioned it could have been helpful to track the tumor shrinkage during chemotherapy and to have the most accurate surgery removal if a breast conserving option was chosen. I hope this helps♡
All the best to you Donna🙏. I hope your first 3 sessions have gone well. Here's the video with the stretches, I hope you find them helpful like I did... ruclips.net/video/p6SEFl6vWZo/видео.html
@@ChelseyTarnow Yes. It is a white creamy lotion. You need a prescription for it. None of the other creams, ointments, lotions were helping until they gave me the Silvadine. They said it might turn your skin black but mine did not turn black. It soothes and heals.
Hi everyone, I went through radiation in Aug_Sept of 2022. I was given prescription of silvadine to soothe the burns and blisters from radiation. It’s medicated cream with zinc compounds to heal burns
May I ask, were you able to workout during radiation? did you drive yourself to the daily appointments? did you were any special clothing (loose/cotton/ bra no bra)? thanks!
I was! I chose to listen to my body and rest when I needed, but also keep moving when I needed (working out improves my mental state so much and I found it helped me cope). I was blessed to have lots of support during treatment. The cancer center was about 2 hours away and either my husband or my mom would drive me. However, if they weren't available I would have felt comfortable driving myself for radiation. Definitely loose clothing and no bra when possible to decrease any friction on the area. Happy to help!
Your dog seemed like he was understanding every word you were saying. Thanks for tips
She is actually quite empathic so maybe she was picking up my vibes! Thanks for watching! I hope it was helpful for you🌷💕
