There are two objects in Mondstadt that not only offer proof the sky is fake, but also give clues as to when this fake sky was put in place - the sundials at the Thousand Winds Temple and on the Nameless Isle. To understand them, you need to understand how sundials are setup to tell time accurately (and they can be very accurate). The gnomon (the pointer of the sundial) needs to be aligned parallel to the axis of rotation, ie not only aligned North-South, but also pointed Polaris in the Northern Hemisphere, and the equivalent point in the sky in the Southern Hemisphere. When we look at the Mondstadt sundials, their alignment is almost East-West, making them useless as sundials. Useless now, that is. If we assume they are true sundials, then when they were made, the Sun's movement across the sky was very different to how it is now, which means those sundials, and the ruins associated with them, were built before current sky was put in place. The alternative is that the sky and Sun are true, and that the world has somehow been shifted, but there are very serious problems with this idea. The biggest of which is that such a tilt shift would likely cause a planet to simply break apart. Remember, after all, that the Earth's 23.4 degree axial tilt is believed to have been caused by the planetary collision that formed the Moon, and now imagine how much force would be required to produce an over 90 degree tilt. Another interesting thing about these sundials is that if you visit them at the same time of day, let's say high noon, you will see the shadows produced by the pointers are not at the same angle, as they should be for objects only a couple of kilometers apart when the Sun is supposed to be around 150 million kilometers away. Anyone feel like doing the mathematical projections to see just how far away the Sun is? The angle difference was significant, leading me to think the Sun is only a couple of dozen kilometers above in Teyvat...

This is sort of confirmed inside of the Sumeru plotline - (Warning, spoilers) how the sages were able to keep everyone inside Sumeru City in a collective "nightmare" without anyone noticing where they were or what was happening to them. counterpoint to this theory, even though the altitude of dvalin height is indeed high, the sky isn't turning a deep blue. Meanwhile in the opening cutscene we see that the sky is indeed turning into a deep blue wherever the traveler is, presumably celestia. This means that island in the sky is nearing the Karman line of teyvat, which makes its ridiculously high in altitude, way higher than they dvalin fight. Given the altitude, I think that the island in the sky is way bigger than people think it is. So what is the fake sky? I think its an illusion, made by who? My the guess the unknown god but the honkai player in me talking, theres nothing physically stopping you from going beyond it, hence why the SoHP had to stop the twins, but this is assuming the fake sky was present at that time. Also from the first Honkai Star Rail beta we learn of Aeons existing, we also learn that these powerful beings travel the stars, so I think the realm beyond the fake sky is just space.
Honestly, I actually am leaning more towards the True Sky being just space. So the question is just "Why bother with a fake sky to begin with if there's nothing up there?"
My thoughts are all playable realms in Genshin including Teyvat itself is just another Domain. Teyvat, Abyss, Light Realm are just another sub-realm of the Universe, just as how domains are sub-realms of Teyvat. Just like how we enter a door to domains, or portals to different realms, it's the same as us entering Teyvat from the door existing in Universe. (Opening Screen) Also the body of land in the sky the people call Celestia is actually not, that land mass is just a system created by the gods that keep this fake ecosystem to sustain humanity functioning. The nails that we find over Teyvat that destroyed places like Dragonspine aren't intentionally drop there, no matter how the records state that it was. It only seems intentional because of the perspective of the writers. However the nails/columns that are falling from this floating land mass is a sign that the system made by the gods to keep this ecosystem functioning is deteriorating. Hense why so many unexplained things and the Abyss Order seeking this opportunity to leek abyssal currents into human realm, speeding up the destruction of the leylines. The leylines cannot convert these Primordial energy to more milder energy as efficient as before hence having more and more disorders. Alice also says the boarders of Teyvat is fading, linking to the floating system not working as it should. Well all this is not backup by anything except my own perspective, which means it's just my own speculations.
I was just think about this yesterday. I was like how can that Island be Celestia when the door to Teyvat seems to be one of the doors to worlds in Celestia (possibly). I think that with all these tall pillar structures. I don't think Celestia can be encapsulated in a small island in the fake sky. Man I love these informative videos.
Something I've noticed after I made a second account to replay the story, then I forgot to make a post on Reddit, is that the world during the Dvalin fight seems concave, not convex as we can see our world from high altitudes.
So I just did the glitch that shoots you up in the sky with quest tracking on, the island seems to be floating somewhere between 3000-4000 meters high.

it would enable free will, allowing characters to break from the fates assigned to them by Celestia's Heavenly Principles and their Constellations, meaning Cursed characters like Shenhe & Bennett would be unburdened while divine erosion would be able to safely dissipate, releasing the likes of Xiao, Azdaha & even the Tatarigami of Orobashi from their immortal unrest. Of course, breaking Fate would ALSO remove the [Protagonist Halo] that many playable characters have, meaning their surviving until/after they fully Ascend (as foretold by their constellations) is no longer guaranteed: Bennett would not necessarily escape mostly unharmed from a sudden (unrelated to him) rockfall; Shenhe would need a more balanced diet than medicinal herbs & bird food; Klee's antics would be decidedly less shrug-offable because her explosions would no longer be mitigated by divine intervention. heck, removing the false sky might DESTROY VISIONS (which may or may not still contain key memories & part of a bearer's psyche) and prevent humans from using elements AT ALL! plus, like, pure vishaps would then be free to revenge themselves unto human interlopers... there would be Consequences, good and deadly.
You make such great vids 😍 But I always wondered about Bennett and about the stuff I dug up about benny boy. Apparently, there's this theory that "Bennett" is from Natlan and was an infant sacrificed in the Mare Jivari. Teyvationary has a whole video about it and this is where I got it from. Well so to speak, Bennett is from Natlan theory can also be fortified with the fact that his eyes and even certain features are similar to the Natlan character shown in Natlans story Teaser or when Dainsleif was talking. Green eyes, a scar on the nose ( maybe just a scar ) but the shape of the cornea as well is strikingly similar and even having features on the arm with scars on it or paint. They also talked about the "Will of the Phoenix", "The Harbinger of Dawn", and how the Phoenix is said to reside within the Ragnvindr bloodline. I don't wanna go into too much detail because I might switch up the artifacts and information in the game and in lore which can make it confusing, but I'm confident I got most variables out. So I'm just hoping that you might cover Bennett in a sooner video HAHAHAHA. Welp imma keep supporting you Aster!! These vids help me relax when I'm out of resin or just life in general. Thank you!
also fun fact the moon in tevat that you can see in the sky passes infront of the projection of celestia meaning that celestias orbit is farther than the moons, and that celestia is much larger than the moon. assumeing this is a 3d projection
This is probably known to a lot of people already but I found that despite Venti’s carefree nature, he does give us hints to our questions (Like Zhongli does) Venti may have been giving us information in a subtle way while covering it up a bit with his carefree nature mixed into it. This also makes me question Celestia a lot more and makes me even more curious as to what the place looks like. If Hoyoverse is going to take references that are biblical, I think I have an idea of what Celestia CAN look like. But that’s just speculation at this point.
I’m binge watching your videos and I’d like to thank you again for bringing so much fun to the game’s lore! The amount of research and time you do to give us these types of videos is so underrated!
I always thought the island looked way too small to be Celestia. Not sure if that's just because it's a placeholder like the old "dragonspine" or it's it's purrposeful
I could stand behind Celestia being realm of gods, it would be very interesting because it would mean that we as a player are kind of gods ourselves, and when we start the game we actually are in the realm and enter the doors to enter this world and this story
I was watching another video before that mentioned the Primordial one created a new timeline in which traveler is on. It just may be possible that Teyvat is a pocket world/simulation of Khaenri’ah. The real Teyvat may be destroyed just like Khaenri’ah. On the official site it says “You have arrived in Teyvat - a fantasy world where the seven elements flow and converge”…I’m sure the emphasis on fantasy can imply the world isn’t real, hence fake sky. I think the real answers lie within the connection to Honkai Impact 3rd. Also the fact traveler and sibling were sent there implies they are also more powerful than the Archons, potentially harnessing Imaginary tree power. Also worth noting Honkai Impact displayed “bubble universes” so Teyvat can be a peculiar crafted place.
the fake sky probably was erected by the sustainer/other celestials after the incident with the traveler and trapped both of the siblings in teyvat and rendered them powerless (at the start) to protect teyvat from more outlanders, and to keep the twins in to prevent them from living to tell the tale in their own world
OMFG THIS THEORY IS AWESOME, you are really an amazing lore theorist and a very good researcher. Plus your voice makes it so easy to listen to, normally lore videos are so packed that I get overwhelmed with the info and the narrator's voice doesn't help either, but you are able to express everything so condensed yet so... light. And it really makes sense, the thing with the fake sky. But, Celestia CAN actually be that small island, after all, artifact and ascension material domains are massive when you look around, like a pocket dimension similar to the teapot, so maybe Celestia is really inside the island but the door that opened to Venessa only shows a small portion of it. After all, it is the part that opens to the human realm so, why show it all when you only want them to go to an specific place?
Maybe with “Fake Sky” they mean Celestia. The Heavenly Principles posing as Phanes. The fact that Phanes, the first throne, actually losing to the second who came, and that therefore Phanes didn’t actually turn against us, may be part of the “forbidden knowledge” we encountered in Sumeru.
The loading screen? Are you talking about the long, stone pathway (with the gate at the end) as the game is loading? Because I always thought it was just representative of real time. When I load up my game at night it shows evening. When I load at day it shows day.
The false sky and fake island theories are very interesting. I think that all of Mihoyo's games take place in the same universe, which the CEO of MiHoYo has apparently confirmed (HoYoverse). The Honkai cataclysms which ruin worlds that become too advanced are known to the gods of Celestia. In order to preserve their world they have the Seven Archons watch over and report to them. When a civilization becomes too advanced like Khaenri'ah or the civilization that used to reside on Dragonspine, they drop a Nail to destroy or reset it, therefore reducing the chance a Honkai event will occur. They keep humanity in the dark for some unknown reason. It's possible the reason that Aether/Lumine don't mention anything about the false sky is yeah, they do know. They would probably also know about Honkai. Also another interesting thing is that the word Teyvat is Hebrew for Ark, like in Noah's Ark. In the books you find about the Primordial One, there's a timeline where the very first entry says ' The Ark Opens ' and 'Year After Ark's Opening '. Maybe Teyvat is itself an Ark for Humanity after a Honkai event. Then there's the First and Second Thrones. First Throne was the Primordial One, but it's never said who the Second Throne is. Only that because of the appearance of the Second Throne, war started. Whether it was caused by the Primordial One or the Second Throne is something we don't know.
After reading about Gnosticism, I think the island in the sky is indeed real Celestia. Since there are Seven Archons in the game, the system the world of Genshin was based on is the 7 + 1 system. In this system, above the seven planets of the seven archons lies the Ogdoad, the sphere of the FIXED STARS. Beyond the fake sky is still likely a version of Pleroma.
I feel like Teyvat isn't upside down but rather inside out. Which is why it's easier for Celestia to monitor it because compared to the plane that Celestia sits on Teyvat is much much smaller.
@@shadowlitten547 oh I was thinking more of like a magical system meant to keep up the false sky/ceiling. And that we do something that causes it to fade out revealing the pillars above Teyvat showing true celestia. Not a physical false sky haha
I think the constellations are also somehow fake and if the fake sky gets destroyed (maybe by the abyss twin idk) people will lose the ability to use the elements. And then because of that Celestia would actually do something else then just watching Teyvat, to be honest idk it’s just something I’ve been thinking about
When Traveller, came to Teyvat, he/she couldn't escape and met The unknown god, who is possible the last god of the 3 gods of the moon, who closed Teyvat under the barrier. People joke about very first scene in the game that someone is dropping a 5* but what if it is exactly what is happening. What if Travellers came and because they are considered 5* they had golden light AND every time you pull in the banner, you are actually sumonning characters from other worlds/timelines I believe Paimon is indeed last missing element, pair to wind - time. She might did something bad in the eyes of the unknown god, something against her. Eg. How Mikoto knew how to protect her people, knew that one will die so to protect Ei she went alone and how she was able to plant the tree in the past? I believe that could be done with help of time archon - Paimon. After it came out, Only 7 were chosen making Statues of the Seven and 8th - Paimon, was targetted/sealed but she tried to escape and made a time jump to the moment when she met the traveller on the beach, no idea if it was done on purpouse. Latest map leak of Sumeru confirms there are 7 statues there, and possible one of each might be in Celestia - 8 in total, for each element, for each original archon. I beleieve Sumeru story will explain us alot. The earpieces that were left by original dendro archon, i believe there are left for mind control, in country of Sumeru, where knowledge is most valuable recource, for people to not learn the truth about the fake sky, about why the unknown god closed the Teyvat, he mind conrol them, blocked their 'dreams' - their ambitions, their interest/curiosity and will to explore - and all of that to protect people of Sumeru to not be targetted, to protect them in his own way, like Ei tried to protect people of Inazuma
Everyone's making theories about the fake sky and what it is and how it works, meanwhile I'm here still hoping false sky is a metaphor because I really hate the fake sky theory...
That Latin is... difficult to understand. I looked up someone else's analysis, and they showed a picture of the mural and how there's a blank spot at the beginning, which means something is missing from the inscription. If we assume "Trivia" (meaning "of the crossroads," a title for the goddess Diana or Hecate) goes with the missing part, it might go something like "...of the crossroads, and you (all) are from the lights of the fake moon." The word "fake" (nothae) almost certainly needs to go with "moon" (lunae). No matter how you slice it though, this sentence is awkward, and it's going to be impossible to be 100% sure what it means unless we get a complete version of the mural. But "fake moon" should be the main takeaway here.
Interesting. Talking about fake moon, isn't Celestia Gods refer as 3 moons? What if this 3 is dead already and got replaced by the 2nd who come, so the moon is fake? I do don't really understand the context of the sentence, especially when there is a missing part.
Wait was it? The Second Throne came and waged war then lost, though. Plus if Istaroth is a Shade of the Primordial one, and Baal and Beelzebul and Barbatos are connected to Istaroth, wouldn't the Primordial One be Celestia?
i think the real barrier of Teyvat i mean XZY axis is an x86 platform integer limit and considering how far Hoyo overthinking all of their games...it's not impossible and as it's not a real physical barrier when you want to cross it and you are belong to that x86 platform you will be physically distorted but if you are from another universe higher than x86 you will be unaffected by that so you can escape but only by walking because any device you made will be distorted and eventually will reset back to 0 or just froze so escaping by walking? soooo long distance? well...to my understanding it's impossible and dig a hole? even more crazy not to mention it's a circular "barrier" so you may ended walking in circles anyway because so far any orientation point would't exist other than you basically so celestia and other things can be just a holographics devices? projecting sky? sorry for so confusing theory but Irminsul looks like a server to me so much so there's that🤭
Hold up…isn’t dvalin from the celestia? If I'm not wrong dvalin was birth there and watch the human realm after some time he finally flies down and lives in the mondstadt with barbatos Well I’m not sure I’m right or not but I’m happy to know what’s the truth
Guys i have an new genshin theory So apparently the archons destroyed khanria But we all know zhongli venti and as much as we know of Makoto They wouldn't just attack a nation bc they don't have an God So i thought bc they still had their gnosises Celestia forced them to do it Since the gnosis has an connection to Celestia So the tsaritza collects them to destroy the all the gnosises (idk what you call multiple gnosis) so that Celestia can't control the archons anymore Some of you may ask why's would Celestia force them to do it? The unknown God was probably sent to stop the twins from Celestia and she captured the one twin and bc that one twin she captured build khanria she might have destroyed it bc she would they might be able to take down Celestia
I think celestia is a prison that traps people in celestia ..... And in the middle of celestia there is a tree .......Vanessa ascended to celestia but why can't she not go back to teyvat ??? Is Vanessa trapped in celestia .......And is the god of time and venti related to each other ???And is the primordial one still in teyvat and is celestia aliens from another world ???

Well, this turned out to be spot on
Just binged almost all of your videos and gotta say this channel underrated af keep it up!
my plan for world domination will come soon,
thank u!
Something I've noticed after I made a second account to replay the story, then I forgot to make a post on Reddit, is that the world during the Dvalin fight seems concave, not convex as we can see our world from high altitudes.
So I just did the glitch that shoots you up in the sky with quest tracking on, the island seems to be floating somewhere between 3000-4000 meters high.
how do u do it?
@@xd4isy You need a stationary NPC without a name and put a portable waypoint exactly on their head (geo traveler's rock is good for this) then teleport somewhere far, then if you use the waypoint you will suddenly find yourself launched up to the heavens
@@Fox_of_Void thank u so much!!!
now i am interested to know what will happen if the fake sky brakes would that change everyone's destiny as their constellation no longer exist
it would enable free will, allowing characters to break from the fates assigned to them by Celestia's Heavenly Principles and their Constellations, meaning Cursed characters like Shenhe & Bennett would be unburdened while divine erosion would be able to safely dissipate, releasing the likes of Xiao, Azdaha & even the Tatarigami of Orobashi from their immortal unrest.
Beyond the fake sky is a Kentucky Fried Chicken
NOT WRONG.
Also if you go to the abyss island, if you look at celestia and change your camera angle, celestia would dissapear and reappear again.
Holy s*?t you're right!
I always thought the island looked way too small to be Celestia. Not sure if that's just because it's a placeholder like the old "dragonspine" or it's it's purrposeful
My mood when aster posts 📈
When you watch the moon as night turns to day, it pulls away instead of disappearing on the horizon.
I could stand behind Celestia being realm of gods, it would be very interesting because it would mean that we as a player are kind of gods ourselves, and when we start the game we actually are in the realm and enter the doors to enter this world and this story
mond's large venti statue has latin words that say 'doorway to celestia' :eyes: sussy af
Was it Wei’s video?
@@josukejoestur Yep. I just never finished the video actually. I was watching some of it yesterday.
Wait didn't honkai part of the lore of genshin got removed? Like from traveler's lore and other connections ect ect
@@ЕльханБолат Yeah I think so. But Honkai has been teasing new crossover info with latest update.
When you focus on teyvats history more than your school works:
the fake sky probably was erected by the sustainer/other celestials after the incident with the traveler and trapped both of the siblings in teyvat and rendered them powerless (at the start) to protect teyvat from more outlanders, and to keep the twins in to prevent them from living to tell the tale in their own world
I love your videos! great that you're covering this topic! :)
I think there's a degree of arrogance to a god who calls a human arrogant simply for travelling.
I wouldn't mind another Unreconciled Stars event tbh, it felt like the story got cut
lucky you! there was a leak that a part 2 coming soon
@@firefly_0619 WHEN??? I started played gi on 2.8 update, so idk whatever tf is happening in Unreconciled Stars event :'(
i love the idea of things not being what they seem to be. things being fake. great video! :)
tbh we need lore about the travellers, like we need to know who and what they actually are
Maybe with “Fake Sky” they mean Celestia. The Heavenly Principles posing as Phanes. The fact that Phanes, the first throne, actually losing to the second who came, and that therefore Phanes didn’t actually turn against us, may be part of the “forbidden knowledge” we encountered in Sumeru.
I wonder if the line"bedrock beneath Liyue Harbor" in the Moonlit Bamboo First might actually be a long lost civilization?
Hi aster! Have u checked out the honkai cutscene with aponia? It looks exactly like genshin's opening screen and she looks like the welkin girl. 😅
not only that but if a fake sky is the one tells people's destiny, what does it mean for people
Plot twist: The fake sky is Celestia's floor
Fake sky? Light/stars falling from the sky? Constant full-moon? Thruth of the world? BRB, I'm gonna watch the truman show real quick...
I'm not really a genshin fan but I was able to think of the same thing said in the title
celestia throws celestias pillars at places that disobeyed/knew to much
Damn Mihoyo even the microtransaction money has lore in it
The loading screen? Are you talking about the long, stone pathway (with the gate at the end) as the game is loading?
Because I always thought it was just representative of real time. When I load up my game at night it shows evening. When I load at day it shows day.
1:27 😳 aster idk about the rest of the subscribers but i for one was not ready to witness thee
The loading screen matches our time
Might be a bit off depending on the time of year but you get what I mean
I think creatures that can fly that has similar power to archons can go out the fake sky since iirc dvalin goes to the honkai universe at some point
At this point, I'm betting that they're all in infinite tsukoyomi.
I think beyond the fake sky is Mr. & Mrs. Genshin and their Impact
I was in that underground area with the painting on the walls but I couldn't understand what it was.
Dragon Sovereign, rightful ruler of teyvat. 🤔
I feel like Teyvat isn't upside down but rather inside out. Which is why it's easier for Celestia to monitor it because compared to the plane that Celestia sits on Teyvat is much much smaller.
It's like a firmament.
I think the Sky theory is true , It was revealed during the end of sumeru archon quest by "The Doctor"
'Venti says this' *a barbie advert suddenly plays*
Imagine what Scaramouche said was the sky being fake was just for trolling? lol
That would be amazing... especially because I hate the fake sky theory...
In my game Celestia goes BEHIND the moon btw.
I´m sorry but I´d never thought I´d hear the words "KFC glider lore" in a serious context😭
After 2 yers at natlan we see the sky is fake 😮😮😮😮 and go back to this vdeo 😊😊
The real question is why no one questions the funky looking flying baby (Paimon)
We’re gonna cause significant ceiling damage and then the marble I beams will be strewn across Teyvat for everyone to see
Wouldn't the celling crash on top of everyone before they realize?
@@shadowlitten547 oh I was thinking more of like a magical system meant to keep up the false sky/ceiling. And that we do something that causes it to fade out revealing the pillars above Teyvat showing true celestia. Not a physical false sky haha

No wonder we haven't seen scaramouche his search for the truth is taking ages
What if Travellers came and because they are considered 5* they had golden light AND every time you pull in the banner, you are actually sumonning characters from other worlds/timelines
I believe Paimon is indeed last missing element, pair to wind - time.

@@kingkilla777 it is? What happened?
Someone starting to sound like some TONE DEAD BARD!!!!
How did the stars (constellations) fall in 1.1 event if they are beyond the fake sky.
Aster i love watching your videos omg
Lols prof gonna be in jenshin for KAZUOOHHOO now lel
besty aster, the second throne was started by celestia against the primordial one
Wait was it? The Second Throne came and waged war then lost, though. Plus if Istaroth is a Shade of the Primordial one, and Baal and Beelzebul and Barbatos are connected to Istaroth, wouldn't the Primordial One be Celestia?
@@ChillwithAster yes it is, besty y r u confused huhu
im pretty sure teyvat is a continent
i think the real barrier of Teyvat i mean XZY axis is an x86 platform integer limit and considering how far Hoyo overthinking all of their games...it's not impossible and as it's not a real physical barrier when you want to cross it and you are belong to that x86 platform you will be physically distorted but if you are from another universe higher than x86 you will be unaffected by that so you can escape but only by walking because any device you made will be distorted and eventually will reset back to 0 or just froze so escaping by walking? soooo long distance? well...to my understanding it's impossible and dig a hole? even more crazy not to mention it's a circular "barrier" so you may ended walking in circles anyway because so far any orientation point would't exist other than you basically so celestia and other things can be just a holographics devices? projecting sky? sorry for so confusing theory but Irminsul looks like a server to me so much so there's that🤭

Well I’m not sure I’m right or not but I’m happy to know what’s the truth
Not really, the game says he was birthed from the heavens, you might have mistaken the heavens for Celestia, but the heavens can mean sky too

I mean, it is a game so obviously it’s a digital sky
Guys i have an new genshin theory So apparently the archons destroyed khanria But we all know zhongli venti and as much as we know of Makoto They wouldn't just attack a nation bc they don't have an God So i thought bc they still had their gnosises Celestia forced them to do it Since the gnosis has an connection to Celestia So the tsaritza collects them to destroy the all the gnosises (idk what you call multiple gnosis) so that Celestia can't control the archons anymore
Some of you may ask why's would Celestia force them to do it?
The unknown God was probably sent to stop the twins from Celestia and she captured the one twin and bc that one twin she captured build khanria she might have destroyed it bc she would they might be able to take down Celestia
a...genshin equivalent of earth?
And what tf are we supposed to be playing in?!
do you think that the celestial gods are aware of the traveler's existence?
I don’t think it has anything to do with Celestia. It most likely the kingdom from the gnostic hymn and that’s all.
