      Sounds cool but its kinda impossible for paimon to die in the story purely from the fact that paimon is used an an in game explenetion to the inventory and menu system, every time you open up the menu she will appear, every time there is a new event paimon starts it, they would need to add a new in game system after her death to take her place and that would just be extremely forced. Even if they want to kill her now they cant really do it in a way that makes sense since she ties the genshin world with the in game system kinda like a vendor, if the vendor dies there needs to be a system to take its place ( Elden Ring Bell bearings )

      She also says she always flies in the Windblume event. They do say time flies. But also sometimes people say time seemed to stand still, so if we're really going with the Paimon menu and the problem of her also freezing, that can be the "time standing still" idiom. Edit: Traveler also jokes that she's a broken clock. It may not be true but even if it isn't, I think the writers know about the theory and are making little jokes about it.

      Just because Paimon mentions something about herself, it does not always mean that it is honestly the truth, as she does not/might not want to say the truth about the actual explanation in front of other people as well. The cutscene that I managed to dig up about the content entering the land after you explored all seven regions kind of proves me point as well. I believe that Paimon even mentions that she has been wanting to say this particular bit of information to you privately for some time now, but was unable to because of the fact that you did not explore all seven of the regions; among the fact that you were unfamiliar how the world around you functioned as well. The point here as well is that the game might be worth playing until the very end, despite their actually not appearing to be very much to do inside of the game as well. The content honestly would not let me even go in there as well with Paimon very clearly saying something along the lines of potentially doing everything that they only do here in this realm considering that the land that you are about to enter operates under completely different laws as well.

    • @joshernsteen2066
      @joshernsteen2066 Год назад

      Hopefully the person who asked about the end game of Genshin Impact finds this comment, considering that I probably might never even mention this on the exact video idea as well. I have always found it kind of fun to place certain information on other video ideas NOT related, but needed to explain other view points as well. The content that I mentioned about having the ability to actually enter the land DEFINITELY WAS NOT SAFE CONTENT TO BE BROWSING ON AS WELL!!!! There was even honest mention about preferably leaving the webpage soon before you potentially scar yourself as well. Paimon also mentioned something related to actually being aware of the fact that you are actually physically there in the current location as well, more specifically referencing the cutscenes involving Xialang as well I believe. It probably caught Mihiyo's attention as well, as I knew that I eventually saw the playback of the gameplay; it was completely unedited with the full attent of the information only being explained that particular way because of what was actually occurring as well.

    • @joshernsteen2066
      @joshernsteen2066 Год назад

      Miyiho even admitted that they DID NOT even plan out any that particular bit of information themselves at that current point in time amongst the fact that they honestly felt the information could have only gotten out because of the way that of what exactly occurred as well. They also immediately questioned Paimon as well, with them questioned what else exactly she might actually know as well.

      You think that playing Genshin Impact is disturbing? Try playing the game in potentially completely different environments to see how exactly you might be able to successfully handle them as well. Mihiyo even directly blocked anyone from directly commenting what they thought about a particular concept at least right away, considering that they thought they might know roughly what they would be seeing as well. It was definitely completed way too quickly than it could likely have been exactly what took place there as well.

      @nightlove3574 Год назад +29

      I don't think it's silly at all. Remember that Albedo quest where he wondered if Paimon was some sort of external organ of the traveler's? It's possible Paimon really IS a part of the traveler, and since we know "we" lost our power, and somehow Paimon is a conduit for us to use the elements, she is likely a part of us that has been forcibly (or defensively) split off. Why else does Paimon panic whenever we are separated for too long? She was never intended to be apart from us and physically cannot stand it. Not to mention that every region has an additional oculus. What if those are meant for Paimon to consume, and retrieving all seven abilities is how we will regain our true power?

      In the strange and weird domain that I did way long time ago regarding the way that she could possibly be dressed inside of the game mentioned specifically that she was well aware of what was going to be occurring inside of the house in version 2.8 event in the game. She also let us know specifically NOT to do the then upcoming hypostatis cube event in the game becuase we were unable to cause any damage to anything of them as well. The domain was also very, very uncomfortable for me wanting to do considering what was actually occurring inside the domain as well, with myself only honestly wanting to progress further in it only to specifically find out what was going to be mentioned inside of it as well. Let me just say that the particular domain might actually be more uncomfortable to do than actually playing more "M" game styles being specifically made that way as well.

    Paimon theories are so much fun and I find Paimon and Traveller's relationship really fascinating. At a surface level, they're friends and constants on this long and winding journey. But because they are MCs whom we know almost nothing about, it makes me question the particularities of their friendship. To Paimon, Traveller is her whole world and she loves them dearly regardless of the lore hints, and glaringly noticeable Celestia motifs. So even if she ends up being Spymon or some great deity, she is first and foremost, Traveller's friend.
    Traveller though, is a wild card. They love Paimon as well but I don't think it's nearly to the degree of Paimon's affections, plus I think they have a thin wall between themselves and Paimon. They also had no problems with booking right out of Teyvat the moment they found their sibling. They're star-like immortal aliens and although generally try to be nice to most, the way Traveller treats friendship is a little different compared to Paimon or any one else.

    • @jsw973
      @jsw973 Год назад +9

      Yeah... we don't even know how long the traveller has known their siblings. For all we know, they might have been together longer than Rex Lapis has been together with Liyue. They have been in teyvat for 500 years, but is that really a long time for them, or is it just another world? As far as we know, the only special thing in teyvat for the traveller is;
      1. This is the first time they got separated from their sibling
      2. They got their power sealed
      They might appreciate the people of Teyvat, but at the end of the day, its just another world. A world that happens to be where he got separated. So are the people in teyvat. To them, they might be just as fleeting as any other world's inhabitants. Even the gods.

      @@jsw973 Wel said. If Traveller is truly as long-lived as the game continues to imply, then Teyvat would be remembered with mixed feelings until even that memeory eventually fades. This is probably why they're on such a long journey across the stars, what's the point of settling in even the most peaceful of worlds if they end up outliving it? I can't wait for more Traveller lore, the little bits that are there are already good, and I know more will be scrumptious.

    This just made me think the way Paimon thinks of herself is so much alike the way the wanderer thought of himself after he was deleted from Irminsul. He still knew the language and the things he knew about Teyvat, meaning he didn't simply reset his brain, and e thought of himself as just a wonderer. Just like how Paimon is just Paimon. Meaning she could have been deleted from Irminsul and be a shade/god/moon sister and not get recognized by any other deities.

    With the 5 artifacts, i feel like the roles are:
    Life - Phanes
    Death - "Sinner"
    Time - Paimon/Istaroth
    Space - Unknown God
    Mind - Irminsul
    Istaroth being the most mysterious one, basically the most important shade to the plot, can only be Paimon to be a satisfactory foreshadowing. Additionaly, the voice the traveler heard after Wanderer altered time was the shade for Logos, the original Irminsul, the one that snapped Rukha's branch.

She’s around the same size and also floats. I think she may have been trapped under the water. Maybe she was an old exiled leader of them.
    I agree that’s she’s eating so much because I’m the quest it was revealed that the seelie court withered away because of their love of humans. Maybe that happened during the arcon wars?
    Either way, if paimon helps the traveler in the end I believe she’ll turn into a seelie husk

In her current state, she's unable to compute that place, because she lacks memories (energy) to do so, so Paimon make us retreat over and over.
    For me, Paimon hunger is due the constantly increasing of the processing of elements and stuff in the world update by update. She is some kind of computer, the one who holds the great illusion Teyvat is sat upon and she guides the Travelers to witnesses the events over and over 'til the time that one of them can reweave the destiny of that world, like Dainsleif said in the story trailer.

    And if Celestia/Unknown god is the second who came, it would make sense why Abyss corrupts everything in Teyvat. They fought from the moment second who came.... Well, came.
    That might also explain paimon's line in the new quest about being separated without knowing why (If she's a shade of Reason). Maybe after the fight all shades were separated, that's why their deeds could be seen all over Teyvat seemingly.

    The word "Genshin" or "Yuanshen" in CN means "Original/ Elemental God", if you look at the Genshin logo, you'll see Paimon's halo over the 2 kanji, straight up indicating that Paimon is the Original God, the Primordial One. Unless there are going to be other beings with the same halo, maybe if she's a Shade, all other Shades may also have this halo.
    It's kind of sad that EN and by some extension JP by EN speakers who don't actually speak JP, Paimon has been perceived quite commonly as an annoying and unlikable character when in CN and KR she is a very well loved character. So much that in the latest Dainsleif quest, when Paimon disappeared and you couldn't even pause the game to see if Paimon is there, a Korean streamer I watched noted that she actually felt scared because Paimon's presence is completely gone.
    Paimon has been built up to be an inseparable and lovable character that we actually felt a close bond to(in CN/KR/JP). This level of bonding was demonstrated in Honkai with a couple of extremely important characters that each time they reappear, people literally start tearing including myself.
    Also one of the crazier Paimon links to Honkai was revealed recently when the characters used a stargate to travel across space. The particle effects that appeared around the stargate is unmistakably Paimon's constellation effects, the exact same graphic assets 1 to 1. It is the only other time in the entire Hoyoverse to show these graphic effects. This shows that Paimon and the stargate has some kind of similar source of power or ability, the power to affect space-time, Shade of Space?

    Loved this update on Paimon theories. I've gone back and forth between so many, but I've always kept coming back to the symbology of the triquetra and her crown. These symbols and how they are portrayed just scream next level plot foreshadowing. And while concepts like being a Seelie and such are cool, they are mundane compared to the level of foreshadowing surrounding Paimon's character. I expect that this places her on a higher level, such as potentially being a Shade.
    What drives my confidence that Paimon is something greater than materially created is less proof in lore as it is looking outwards at other lore that matches in design. Nahida's Archon story revealed so much about Genshin. The powers of an Archon growing into their prime are something amazing. But we also learned something else, no? We more well defined the conceptual limits of an Archon. What other massively, internationally important worldbuilding-centric fiction deals in powers of three with an extremely similar symbology to Genshin's artifacts and has almost the exact same limits placed on its hierarchy? Well, that would be the work's of Tolkien. The divinity of three parts of: Aru Ilúvatar, the Valar, and the Ainur. This in comparison to the Primordial One, the Shades, and the Archon. The symbology of the crown in Tolkien's work has be taken by some as some sort of belief in strong leaders over democratic rule, but I think there is a divine spark at play instead. I would argue that those that bare the crown symbology in Tolkien's work (both on the sides of "good" and "evil") are guided there By Aru Ilúvatar's will via the Valar. They are placed in those positions to help shape the to be history of the people of the world so that the plan of Aru Ilúvatar can come true. That all of the bad things that need to happen to teach the people important lessons happen. That the necessary things are in place to overcome insurmountable odds so the story continues. To me, Paimon embodies this concept of divinity in three and the crown of guidance from the greatest divine. She is not an important character but a divine instrument.

      1) The triquetra symbolizes Elemental Mastery or the Omni element in TCG or the ability to use any of the 7 elements. And she has it on her chest. I guess we'll find out later why is this symbol sometimes upside down. I've seen theory that one is Imaginary and other is Real as an opposite meaning.
      2) In Kabbalah the topmost of the sephiroth in Tree Of Life is Keter (Kether) which literally means The Crown. So yeah this is another sign that she may wield the strongest power in Teyvat.

To keep the symmetry, I would think that the four shades are then Life/Death and Space/Time. I'm not sure where Reason fits into this but it's something worth mentioning - though personally, I don't think Paimon is specifically one of the four shades but she could be connected to Reason in a different way, however that manifests.

    The Unknown God / Sustainer of Heavenly Principles and Paimon share some similarities oddly enough. We see from the Archons that their power is physically imbued into their hair, and that it glows when they utilize their power. Paimon has white hair, just like the Sustainer. They both can fly/float as well. And this is where the similarities end, but strangely so. We’ve seen the Sustainer use her powers, but not Paimon (and whether that scene in Liyue is Paimon using her power or not, we still don’t see Paimon during that scene at all, so it cannot be counted). And while fighting the Sustainer, we can actually see some of her hair glow white (it’s at the ends of her hair, just like the archons) and at the same time, her hair is floating above her as well, and I’m going on the safe bet that this is probably only because she is using her powers at the moment. If Paimon has the same type of hair, then we have yet to see it since she hasn’t used her power in front of us. Now as for Paimon’s identity, let’s get back to the Archons, their identity is to rule over a nation with their respective element, but what is more important in an Archon’s Role, their element or nation? It would be the Element, because each Nation is heavily inflicted with their respective Element. And in a Screen-load Tip, it tells us that the elements are the world’s building blocks. So if that is the extent of the elements, then that is the extent of the Archons. Something that has yet to be pointed out, is that the Statues of the Archons are separate from the Statues of the Seven. In the Moonchase Event we find Marchiossus’s Statue, which is in an indestructible stone that gave away due to Festive Fever that accrued around Marchiossus’s Ideal of the Stove. Sharing a warm meal between friends and family. And the definition of ideal is “a standard of perfection; a principle to be aimed at” and the definition of principle is “a fundamental truth, or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief”. There are 3 types of truths, Objective, Normative, and Subjective. Objective is what exists and can be physically proven. Normative is what a group agrees to be true. Subjective is how an individual sees or experiences the world. (A little example here. There is a Poisonous Plant, this is objective truth. The Poisonous Plant is special, this is Normative Truth. It’s best to stay away from the Poisonous Plant, this is Subjective Truth.) A principle can be either Normative or Subjective Truth. In Genshin, their appears to be 2 types. The Gods with their ideals are Subjective, and the Heavenly Principles are Normative. This is important because in Genshin, it appears that the Heavenly Principles have more power than the Ideals and will refuse any who opposes them. A Sustainer by definition is “someone who upholds or maintains”, so anything that threatens the Principles would be met with aggression from the Sustainer. (This is interesting because this means that Human arrogation isn’t really the main enemy of the Principles, it’s just the Human Arrogation from Khaenri’ah ended up threatening the Principles). The Gods won’t fight against the Principles, so Subjective Truth won’t out Normative Truth, which leaves Objective Truth, which is something that the Traveler is indeed searching for, along with their sibling ofc. (And something that Rheingold asked of Albedo as well, hmm … ) and how does all of this relate to Paimon’s identity? Because I believe she is a Principle. So, without question, the Heavenly Principles are often referred to as if they are physical beings, so I will speculate that they are. The question remains now, how many Principles are there, and which one is Paimon? Well, a Principle is, as we have discussed earlier, proposition that serves as the foundation of a system of beliefs. So, what do the people and Gods of Teyvat, believe in? There is a constant belief of Vision Holders by both the people and Gods, so there is a Principle of Visions. The people have a complete reliance on the Gods, so there is a Principle of Gods. As of right now, this is the furthest I’ve gone, if you can think of any more potential Principles, please do. Now, if Paimon is a Principle, I think that she for a certain reason was kicked to the curb by the other Heavenly Principles, why would that be? Because Paimon was the black sheep of the bunch, she cared about the Objective Truth that could threaten the rest of the Principles. Earlier I talked about the Statues of the Archons and Statues of the Gods being separate, well to get back to that topic, the Statues of the Gods would of existed before the Archon War, so the pedestal that these Statues are placed on, is the Statues of the Archons. Let’s call them “Celestial Pedestals” for now. And here is an odd thing, the Irminsul is connected to these “Celestial Pedestals”, when Rukkha left a message on loop in the Irminsul, it found itself being repeated at the Celestial Pedestals as well. The Irminsul is something that records all information, false or true, especially the Objective Truth, so the Heavenly Principles were most afraid of it, and especially of the Avatar of Irminsul. You see, I think Paimon, is the Principle of Irminsul. We know that people of Teyvat used to pray to Irminsul for things, this was one of their beliefs. And we have also seen these beliefs be punished, and just about utterly destroyed, now the Irminsul isn’t a worldwide belief, but a worldwide curiosity. Also, remember that the first things Paimon lead us to, was a Celestial Pedestal, connecting to Irminsul, connecting us to the Elements. Irminsul is supposed to record everything about this world, but there is no record of us. Is it because we are Descenders, or because we are being recorded by the Irminsul Principle? Because our sibling was recorded, so either they are the unique one of the twins, or we are. I wonder, the Sustainer must of at one point protected Paimon as well, was Paimon’s abandonment something she regretted, or something she supported? … now I am interested in both of them meeting up.
    Edit: side note, forgot to mention that with Sustainers White Hair Glow, this is another confirmation of an 8th element existing in Genshin.
    Edit 2: forgot to mention as well, that this may explain why Paimon had no issue with the Ley Lines in Tighnari’s Quest.

    I've seen theories that the travelers are the shades of life and death, but I like the idea that they might ascend to those roles since they aren't from the world in the first place. They do fit the iconography of those shades with lumine having both a flower and feather in her hair and aether having a feather in his and giving lumine her flower (if you play as lumine). I personally think the abyss twin would probably become the shade of life since, no matter which twin the player plays as, they have the undying khaenria flower related to them. I also think the abyss twin being the shade of life makes sense because they deny death, they side with the abyss order to keep the people of khaenria alive, who are also cursed with immortality. This would also mean that the player traveler will eventually play the role of restoring death, or even being a witness of "death" in the cases of Zhongli, signora and even kazuha's bloodline.

    Also I think the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles could not be the Shade of Time because she's a part of the Second Who Came? I feel like there's a theme of the Primordial One being benevolent towards the single unified civilization but then "laws" were introduced when the Second Who Came descended leading to the Archon War.
    Explaining why Istaroth helps Enkanomiya as a flickering power of the defeated by the Second Who Came. And when the scribe said that "Primordial One" sealed Enkanomiya, it's actually The Second Who Came that took waged war and took hostage of the Primordial One and acted as Demiurge aka the "Fake God".
    That's why in Traveler's Character Details "The keeper is fading away; the creator has not yet come."
    The keeper signifies the 4 Shades, and the creator obviously is the Primordial One.

    Also after debating some stuff, I think Paimon might also give us our elemental powers. Think about it, she was there when we touched one of the statue of the sevens and we received "a blessing" from the Anemo God. But if we go to Raiden she says: "... it is not by my will that Visions are granted or denied. The key is people's desire, and... well, there's another side to it too." So we know for sure that Visions/elemental powers are not granted by Archons, but by something else. What if this something else in our case is Paimon? What if when we touch those statues they act like a beacon that allows us to access some elemental power/core present in Celestia, that we can use because Paimon was next to us? BTW did anyone ever asked, why do these Archon statues are always cracked/chipped off and when we fix them, we get a power boost in the form of a constellation? Also isn't it weird how they all are pretty much the same aside for who sits on top of them ?

    my theory is that Paimon is the former companion of Istaroth/one of the shining shades, like Yae for Ei or Dvalin for Venti.
    1. she feels extremely nervious when the Traveller is not nearby, and we know that Istaroth dissapeared all of a sudden.
    2. she knows a lot about the history of Teivat, but doesn't have a clue about more recent events and personalias.
    3. also our journey begins on the beach, which is the closest to the secret island with a temple of time.
    4. she demonstrates empathy every time our MC talks about their twin and separation and loneliness.
    5. it also explains her spontaneous continuation of the Mondstadtian idiom.
    in that case, her fate is unreadable for Mona, because without the memories of Istaroth left in this world Paimon doesn't have her proper past, and her future is defined by the actions of a descender. btw, she calls herself "the best companion" in the beginning of our story, and does it very confidently, as if she already were one.

By the end of the game, I think she will finally realize who she is (I personally think Istaroth) but will be forced to do something drastic to save the Traveler, possibly as a sacrifice. If that happened I would legit cry. It's hard to imagine Genshin without her.

If this is the case, she could’ve been reborn after or during the cataclysm and was taught by the gods. This could explain y she looks so young and is clingy. I also think interesting that her lines are much more complex than her vocabulary when it comes to explaining new places , and when she had to explain the docs to truser in childes quest she forgot what I’m thinking are pre written lines. It’s only then she slips up, when she’s not explaining to traveler. Mabey she was taught by the ppl on celestia, then thrown down to tevat to guide traveler. At the start of the game (you even put the cutscene in this video) the Traveler says that "When I woke, I was all alone - until I MET YOU 2 MONTHS AGO", so we don't really know how much time passed since the Traveler woke up, we only know that they met Paimon 2 months before the start of the game (not that 2 months passed from waking up to meeting Paimon). I don't really think it changes much but I was always curious to know how much the Traveler was awake for and what they did in that time, and also where did they fish Paimon up (since the fishing scene does not resemble the beach in wich you start)
