Aster,,,, what is your opinion about albedo's comment about kaeya. The way he said that he only need three strokes to draw kaeya. Because both are from khaenriah,,,, I was kinda thinking are they close? Or are they hate each other? Not in a sense of shipping, but more to relationship between khaenriah chara that both know each other (since we see no interactions between dainsleaf with kaeya or albedo)

Now that Ei has said Khaenri'ah was a country that could not be ignored, we can guess that Khaenri'ah had a dark side that was huge enough that it drew the attention of the archons, aside from just weaponary and science advancement. I honestly think that they were attacked simply for their technological advacements and the Cataclysm was result of Gold using Abyss as last hope of defending the nation, which accidentally turned the citizens into Abyssal monsters.
That would also explain why the Archons are forbidden to talk about it. Their actions against Khaenri'ah had caused the Cataclysm to occur.

    .
In Ei's new quest she describes how Inazuma was invaded my monsters 500 years ago, while Makoto went to Khaenriah. She says the hounds were tearing portals to make way for other monsters to invade. Since the hounds are most likely Gold's creations and Gold, it implies that Khaenriah was attacking other nations.
Also, "That place... was not somewhere that any archon could afford to ignore" also points to the conclusion that Khaenriah was an unholy place that needed to be purged.
At this point, everything seems to point to Khaenriah being an agressive or imperialist nation that tried to conquer by force, using the supposed human intelectual and technological superiority as an reasoning to go against the ones ruled by gods.
Khaenriah does have many similarities with a contemporary nation and, considering how the nations of Teyvat are inspired by real life countries or regions, it's interesting that people don't speculate oh that.

    GENSHIN THEORY:
-I noticed something in Genshin Impact while I was playing and I wanted to share it with all of you.
-As you know, all the abyss monsters such as abyss mages and hilichurls were once citizens of Khaenri'ah.
-And we also know that the Abyss Order’s members are all citizens of Khaenri'ah as well.
-All of the Khaenri'ah transformations into monsters seemed to be grouped based on class, rank or profession. For example all of the Black Serpent Knights transformed into the Shadowy Husks and only Shadowy Husks.
-This means we can guess what some of the other Khaenri'ah monster’s original professions were before they transformed.
-Firstly, let's talk about the Abyss Lectors.
-The Abyss Lectors are a part of the Abyss Order and are enemies. All Khaenri'ah monsters are all assumed on profession so what would have been the original Abyss Lector’s roles as a part of Khaenri'ah? Well on the wiki page we can see this line of text:
“ These creatures are evangelists that can chant malefic poetry of the Abyss to command their powers. “
Evangelists are “ a person who seeks to convert others to the Christian faith, especially by public preaching: “ (as by the dictionary). Genshin has heavy themes of Gnosticism so this must not be a coincidence. And the last line of text reads:
“ Within the Abyss Order, Lectors refer to themselves as "exegetes."[1] “
Exegetes are “an expounder or textual interpreter, especially of scripture.”
And down below when we see what the Abyss Lector’s names translated into other languages, we see this:
Chanter, cantor, bard and scholar. These all refer to people who preach and teach in one way or another. Mostly, the cantor and scholar caught my attention. A cantor is someone, “an official who sings liturgical music and leads prayer in a synagogue.” And scholar is “a specialist in a particular branch of study, especially the humanities; a distinguished academic:”
This means that Abyss Lectors used to be Khaenri'ahn people (most likely scholars or officials) who taught, most likely in a way of music, chanting or speaking to preach and educate others about certain things. And based on how gnosticism is presented here, we can only assume that they are preaching about religion, if not at least something related to the divine and gods. This is backed up by their design as during their attack they start chanting and they both hold some sort of object such as a book or an orb.
And if they were an official who carried these duties out, by some extent, we can assume that they might possibly be priests. This can also be confirmed since religious roles do exist in Genshin as Barbara is a deaconess and Monstadt has a church dedicated to their god.
    -Next we have Abyss Heralds.
Abyss Heralds are another form of enemy presented by the Abyss Order. On their wiki page we can see this:
“ They can transform with an Abyssal Gospel.[1] “
A gospel is “the teaching or revelation of Christ:”. Once again, very heavy themes of gnosticism. When at the bottom of the wiki page, their names translation part, we can see this:
    Apostle, emissary and herald.
A emissary is “a person sent on a special mission, usually as a diplomatic representative.”, an apostle is” each of the twelve chief disciples of Jesus Christ.” and lastly “an official messenger bringing news.”. And from wikipedia I gathered this:
“An apostle (/əˈpɒsəl/), in its literal sense, is an emissary, from Ancient Greek ἀπόστολος (apóstolos), literally "one who is sent off", from the verb ἀποστέλλειν (apostéllein), "to send off". The purpose of such sending off is usually to convey a message, and thus "messenger" is a common alternative translation; other common translations include "ambassador" and "envoy".”
This means that Abyss Heralds are and were most likely messengers of some sort and based on the heavy gnosticism theme around it such as including the words “gospel” and “apostle” we can assume they were messengers related to the theme of divinity and gods.
-This is backed up by the Abyss Mages being a magician or sorcerer based on the word: mage “a magician or learned person.” and in their monster forms they also represented that with them using magic and spell casting as a form of attack and holding a staff with them.
Also backed up by the Black Serpent Knights as they were Khaenri'ahn royal guards and in their monster form they are represented once again, as guards and protectors with their designs having them carry large swords and armour.
-This means that Abyss Lectors were most likely Khaenri'ahn scholars or an official who seeks to spread the teachers of a god/their god by using poetry and music and that Abyss Heralds were most likely Khaenri'ahn messengers on a diplomatic mission, mostly likely having some connections to gods.
Not to mention that both Abyss Lectors and Abyss Heralds drop a thing called “gloomy statuettes”. The description on the item reads: “An idol made in the likeness of some unknown person. Even though this carving has seen many years pass, it still has not been damaged in any way. It seems that its previous owner must have cherished it like some holy icon.”
The “holy icon” they are talking about in the description most likely refers to a god or deity of some sort.
And they must have treasured this in some way as the description reads: “ It seems that its previous owner must have cherished it”
Not only that but this is also a drop material for Shadowy Husks/Black Serpent Knights.
-This begs the question, why would Khaenri'ah have priests and messengers who seek to spread godly teaching and messages if they themselves are a godless nation? And more of all, did Khaenri'ah worship a secret god?

Great video. I have my own theory that the Traveler (Lumine/Aether) are actually "Divine Envoys" and royals of Celestia. They are constantly questioned if they're human. I think it makes even more sense they're not human because 1. they lived more than 500 years, 2. all the lore in-game of recent points to stars falling to the Seven and communicating with Celestia. Also their regal outfits with the star motifs all over seem to hint at them being that. I remember the video where the battle point menu tells of a King who sent their prince and princess to retrieve a power. I think them taking that power led to the destruction of Khaenri'ah and that's why they got judged by the heavenly sustainer of principles. The current state of affairs might be the sibling attempt to rebuild order and power back with Celestia.

Lets put the infos into coherent story:
Why they do all of these? Probably they want to "go back" to the surface as they once were just like enkanomiya people were freed by orobashi, orobashi died for this but the people finally back to the world they once from & mingle just fine, for his brave sacrifice, people of watatsumi who were once enkanomiya people that refuse to believe in god (due to the whole sunchildren scandal) choose to worship him anyway. Now they have no difference than any regular teyvat human that live a quaint life there.
Khaenriah's fate differ, they survive the second throne (who i guess is our present celestia) but receive no outer help, they survive with khemia & build a prosperous nation. Lets assume the second throne or celestia, who ban ancient human to back to the upper world is the antagonist & khaenriah realize that, they build military, infiltrate other nation (they killed enkanomiya jibarashi when tried to steal before sun n moon) & just all out planning to wage war to the 7 and their subjects. Did it justified? hell nah, innocent people know nothing of all these shits
500 years ago the one with ambition of khemia is not just gold, but the head of the dynasty, in mocking mask, pierro failed to warned the ruler that whatever they think about was a bad idea & dainsleif who are supposed to be guard resent the order, mean there's crack in the kingdom to push dainsleif to refuse protecting his own bunch. So I assume, an experiment was going on, a war plan is set, I bet they have clashing opinions among their own ranks, with the people n stuffs. Those who are content with their life vs those who just want war. The lectors probably preach on how false the divine & how humanity (or at least the eclypse dynasty) are the one with the truth. This believe turns into fanaticism that make them view gods n elemental being/vision in screwed way. FUNNY BECAUSE THE DRAGONS ARE THE RIGHTFUL RULER OF TEYVAT, not even khaenriah people deserve to rule
Then, something blew up, be it the void energy, instabilize leylines, something distrupted n blew in khaenriah face that make monsters appear everywhere & the ravage of those corruption leaked to upper world, khaenriah's machinery that purposefully build to fight was released to all corner of teyvat to clean up the monsters but in the end they were build to fight, so even if it's not monsters, they are hostile to non khaenriahn human. Mondstadt seems like a place that is familiar with khaenriah, since in a book jean read there's a heroic tales of khaenriah hero. 500 years ago KoF sending in troop to help quelling the monsters there but failed, then venti awaken in time of crisis to vanguard mondstadt in the knight's stead from durin, the biggest monster that leaks out, since they lost a lot of knights in kheanriah & grandmaster arundolyn traumatized to even lift a sword against durin. I assume, all archons rally there to help out, if they manage to suppress the monsters they protect both teyvat & khaenriah, so two bird in two stones, makoto rush with saiguu to help in khaenriah while trusting inazuma in ei's hand.
But then, celestia decide another way, they send in sustainer, they punish a whole nation for their sin of greed. They put curse (or say the void energy) to the citizens no matter what ranks they are, they destroy the nation, they make sure no one will remember khaenriah exist & they make sure their curse will make them never be part of the upper world. Makoto probably died due to the monsters n not because she defy celestia tho, but she know celestia is problematic just like venti feels thus she contact istaroth, shade of the primodial one from the first throne to help out her inazuma emergency plan. A
In CONCLUSION: Khaenriah & abyss order is embodiment of pride that hurt others, in the end, the humanity they proud themselves in is just their country, they don't care about human life that live under the seven. they don't care about the elemental being like osial, or andrius, or dvalin, they want to weaponize them if that mean to burn the heaven.
My suspiscion is Rhinedottir probably know she did wrong, probably she is on a journey on making things better, that's why she entrust albedo to alice (that seems have no beef over anything as long as her kids grow up happily), albedo know the sin of his master's past worried a same destruction can came from him, kaeya is a child spy that was left by his own father for possible revenge against what happened 500 years ago & dain is doing all he can to stop the abyss get what they want because in no way he will let another calamity to happen. And we have istaroth, the god of time that once rule with venti & was refered in enkanomiya, the one helped makoto with her plan to free the country from heavenly principles. What if, she as the god of time seen by celestia as threat for helping out the archons n human she had been hiding ever since

Kaheinrinini' ah (if you can notice, I still can' t write it well!!) has such interesting lore, chapter 7 is gonna be so interesting!! What I' m curious the most is who' s the actual leader/king of the abyss order? What is the abyss/void? How did the abyss order connect with the abyssal power? Do some Gods posses that power? I wonder if the true leader is an old archon or a God, it would be pretty ironic for Karhebfjehbd' ahn people to have a ruler that is a God, though I doubt they will be, but maybe God-like? Who knows!
I also really want to know how the structure was for Khaerni' ahahah, did it have very bad stuff like Enkanomiya, or was it prosperous AND also a nation with fair rules without anything shady going on behind the back?
I won' t go into the story of the 2.5 event, but the lore there is pretty interesting as well! I hope you' ll do a video about it (you will) and I can' t wait to see it~

Nice video Aster. Since even more lore was dumped on us during the 2.5 update I've been attempting to categorize a lot of this information as well. Currently focusing on the Three Realm world building that was introduced to us via Enkanomiya.
For starters we know Enkanomiya exists in the Vishap/Elemental realm or Realm of Light as they refer to it. An interesting name for a Realm underground. Now if Enkanomiya exists in the Realm of Light then as another underground civilization wouldn't Khanriah also be another human city in the realm of Light? To me its confusing since the Abyss Order clearly seems to come directly from The Void realm. There was quite a lot mentioned about all 3 realms. The human realm has its leylines, the elemental currents of the Light realm and the dark currents of the Void realm were mentioned by Tsumi specifically. Like how Void energy is destructive to both humans and elemental energies and yet addictive to the Abyss Order even though it's still destructive in nature. A convoluted explanation I'm still attempting to unravel.
We also learned that 500 years ago Inazuma also had a great flood of darkness with armies of monsters which Makoto was not able to deal with since she had more alarming issues in Khaenriah where she dies and her mind is retrieved by Ei. There is so much to unpack there its hard to begin but this does tell us it wasn't just Khaenriah but most likely a great upheaval from the Void realm itself.
Here's my theory, just as the leylines must be purified to remove blockages the elemental currents of the light realm and the dark currents of the Void realm most likely have a similar function and issues. Rift hounds were mentioned specifically attacking leyline energy in preparation for invasion. We know Gold had modified the Rift Hounds so this tells me Khaenriah was weakening the barrier to the Void realm intentionally. Perhaps as a means of mass transportation? Yes its just a theory but how else do you explain there biomimetic technology turning up all over the world?
Still working on putting all the pieces together and figuring out how Khaenriah fits into this puzzle but definitely enjoying having more to work with for a change.

Do you think its possible Khaenri'ah decended from the second throne that lost, which is why they are hell bent on waging war with humanity and bringing down celestia? The electro lector's roles as evangilists made me think this was possible, and also explains why their so suspicious of celestia.
Also I think Gold discovered abyssal energy which is described to corrupt and instill a hunger for violence/desctruction.
    *looks at childe
Yeah checks out and explains why she suddenly made her creations wreak havoc and trigger the cataclysm, because when we look at the Dragonspine Spear and the Cinnabar Spindle descriptions it makes it seem like it is not in her nature to do such a thing. It is also possible that the Ruler of Khaenri'ah ordered her to use abyssal power to make her creations more stronger.
2.6 leaks are suggesting a follow up to the We Will be Reunited archon quest through the chasm so the abyss is probably looking for something to progress the loom of fate operation... it will explain why they had to seal off the chasm, especially if abyssal energy is spread there.

For all I knew there was no explicit hints that Primordial One and the Shades where part of Celestia or not. Maybe the 2nd Throne is in fact Celestia and defeated the first throne? That would explain why they wanted Khaenri'ah gone and banned the ppl of Enkanomiya from ever returning...Maybe the Khaenri'ah ppl worshiped The First Throne and rejected the 2nd(Celestia)...Genshin lore really is intriguing. i kinda have a different take on why khaenriah has a lot of weapons, I mean then live underground and its the land of dragon which was the ruler of the world before Primodial one came. I mean they have to defend themselves against the dragons now that the land sunk into the abyss and the gods were no longer with them. In this sense, when dain said land was not to be farmed but to be fought for with steel and blood it could mean that their natural enemies were so great that they had to constantly defend their land or else they wouldn't be able to survive. Also since they were underground and had barely anything natural fauna and floral, their land probably also cannot be farmed.

wait wait wait. if the part where there was a second throne next to celestia in the heavens that fell down to teyvat is true, this can just prove the theory about dainsleif having a sister. because in the battlepass lore it talks about two royal siblings who once lived in the heavens, so of course it can easily be proven wrong since dain was from khaenriah, in teyvat. but after discovering this?? the theory continues to be possible maybe

    • @rkssk17

and this could hint that the abyss sibling's reason for helping the abyss order is because the siblings were once from there in khaenriah because it wasn't originally from teyvat but in the skies maybe... plus the fact both the traveler and dain don't own a vision?? this may sound vague for now but this just feels possible to me

Interesting that they bring up black soil specifically... fun fact. Ancient Egypt's name in it's native tongue is Khem, which is the same etymology as khemia from which the words alchemy and chemistry come from. Egypt was, at a time, known for it's rich fertile soil that the Nile produced which was... you guessed it - black. I think Khaenriah is supposed to mirror Atlantis, however and Sumeru is Egypt/Alexandria... but it's likely that if Atlantis did exist and it was as advanced as Plato described and if it did exist in the region of northern Africa, it's likely that Egypt derived a lot of it's alchemical practices and ideals from Atlantean migrants after it was destroyed.

One thing I noticed in this video was about Khemia being the base for the word alchemy in genshin. If khemia is the artificial creation of life, and alchemy is the artificial creation of non living things, then we can assume the prefix "al" to imply non living. A connection we can make with this would of course be Albedo, his name beginning with that same prefix we assume to mean non living. While we know obviously that Albedo is artificially created already, it makes me wonder if the second part of his name, "bedo", has any significance. Sorry if this has all been said somewhere before, but even if someone noticed it first I noticed it myself and thought it was pretty cool :)
Edit: while Albedo is named after a stage im alchemy, it could still be the case that the people writing genshin's lore have taken his name and given it a meaning beyond its original inspiration that fits within their own world, giving it a layered meaning from both the origin of the name and a new meaning given to it specifically in the context of genshin lore. Maybe its a bit of a stretch, but I think it is plausible still.

(I also believe Dainsleif is the 12th Habinger under cover to The Jester). (but that is another story)Lumine is older than 500 years and after she and her brother were summoned to Trevat, she became Skirk who was the Abyss princess and trained Tartaglia as a young boy, yet meant him again as a man and doesn’t remember! The reason she becomes so angry with Dainsleif, is because during their second travels, she begins to remember all sorts of terrible things and sees his manipulation. I feel the Jester has total control, even over the Tsaritsa, and has manipulated all sorts of plots to move events over thousands of years toward
    revenge and ultimate power.

The line about Makoto saying that no Archon could ignore Khenriah is it Khenriah at that moment or Khenriah in general because that line came after she said that she had some idea of what was happening
And another thing saying that she knew what was going on and had some idea about what might happen yet she went there willingly
Also who do you think the higher divine Entity is? By the sound of it, it looks like whoever they were, they were on the Archon's side (not necessarily Celestia tho)
And what do you think Makoto meant by the sacred Sakura being finally free from the clutches of the heavenly principles
Makoto line also implies that all of the 7 were in Khenriah + a higher divine Entity yet 2 of them presumably died there so what exactly were they up against, one of Ei's line only say " that thing" so whatever it was, it wasn't human ( so maybe not a Khenriahn thing) or a God that they were facing. Hi, welcome to my ted talk. heres my personal theory about the traveler, not about khaenri'ah itself. Disclaimer: I will be saying aether because I use male traveler, just imagine it as lumine if you use female traveler. Also..
!!spoiler warning for "we will be reunited" quest!!
I personally have a feeling the twins could be part of the destruction of khaenri'ah itself / the abyss order, or maybe even both. But without knowing. Remember that God cutscene? Right, why didn't she kill aether after capturing lumine? We obvious know lumine is in the abyss order as well, but if she didn't have any plans for aether, why would she want to let him live? Sure, you could say "she didn't care" or something, but it doesn't make sense. They clearly were fighting each other before lumine got captured. Let's say she didn't kill lumine because she knew that she was going to be helping the abyss order. Let's also say she knew that aether was going to try to fight evil and show signs of a plan that doesn't include the abyss order, so why would she let him live? Maybe we'll get an option along the lines of saving / joining lumine in the abyss order or saving paimon. But there's more.
What if.. paimon is the unknown God? This may or may not sound crazy but.. Think about it, they both have white, long hair, strange colored eyes, outfits that scream "I'm a god", and just overall seem very similar. Obviously, mihoyo / hoyoverse made paimon more child like for the memes and to show the side of her that usually isn't serious. It's already speculated that both paimon is the god and that she has a true form. Put the two and two together, it seems like it could be very canon. But why would she want to befriend aether and travel with someone she potentially wanted to kill? In my opinion, said god would probably use it to befriend the traveler, and then suddenly reveal herself, as some sick way of "payback" for escaping death. This seems very reasonable, as the God's personality seems very selfish, high of herself, very evil, and the vibes she gave to me seem like "I'll do anything to make you suffer" to her victims. A way to remind aether that he can't never escape her. So, while he may be safe right now. I feel like a little later into the story well see more cutscenes from khaenri'ah. Maybe even some including kaeya and tartaglia.
Well, that's all. Thanks for tuning into my ted talk. & maybe let me know what you think about my theory!

    this is my theory
    SPOILERS
khaenri’ah created field tillers aka ruin guards so that means they also created the giant versions of them. Ei is scared of something khaenri’ah created but I don’t think she would be scared of the giant field tillers because she is a god so then that means khaenri’ah created something really powerful and bad. Since khaenri’ah was destroyed by gods what I think was that gods were protecting the world from what they created. And don’t get mad at me this is just what I think.

However the other twin villain said that they want to destroy all the archons because they probably was cutting the job for the fatui to collect the Gnosis because the fatui could get stronger once they got all the Gnosis, your other twin isnt the main villain in the story, its the unknown god that could possibly be behind the fatui's work, thus the Abyss wants to destroy all the archons so the unknown god cant gain the Gnosis from archons
Edit: and also dain warned us to not trust the archons too much thus they're also responsible for the destruction in khaenri'ah, perhaps the reason why archons were giving their Gnosis, is that they feel guilty for the destruction and they gave their Gnosis away so they were not the one to blame, since the celestia ordered them to destroy khaenri'ah, and as i mentioned earlier, the unknown god could be the boss of fatui

According to the official roadmap we will get to travel to Khaenri'ah. It's supposed to be the last act of the Teyvat chapter.

@@impostorsyndrome1350 I don't know about Celestia as it wasn't shown in the roadmap. The roadmap only focused on the 7 nations and Khaenri'ah. But it would be disappointing if we don't make it to Celestia. Maybe they didn't want to spoiler it in their roadmap.

The video is nice and it is easy to follow you as you use a good tone, but the music is a bit too loud and it made it hard to listen properly. The theory is really interesting though, I also thought that maybe Khaenri ah is not completely innocent. I wouldn't say yet they deserved what happened to them, but I don't think they are entirely white. I wonder if they tried to colonise Teyvat !

I belive that Celestia is above good and evil, and that khaenri'ah crossed the line with Celestia, maybe the rulers of khaenri'ah did something they shouldn't have done and they paid the price
