I've found in the first few runs of a new save, it's most efficient to go up the wall from your starting mine, till you hit the cloud layer, then head back down and get the ones below the start. This lets you stay in the easy purple and green mines, and get a good weapon with some upgrades before trying the cloud wave. Once you get the MK 3 movement speed, you can finally outrun the ranged attacks, and can beat boss 1, the missile meta upgrade also really helps with boss 1 on runs 3 - 5. Once you get to that point, then you can really make some strides on progression and don't have to worry so much about the the first cloud wave.
I found you when you were mid shotgun king and still think your commentary is just fine the way it is. Keep on brother.
You definitely need missile. First level costs only 500 and even unupgraded make big difference.
Getting rockets means beating the first round boss. Beating the first round boss means more time to get meta-progress with a powered up beam
I'd love to see you swapping more between weapons during waves. On this new file it may help get through the waves faster. Also, that's how I think most people would play.

I LOVE that pixel art game it's a bit story focused but really really fun trust me and the characters are very loveable.
i'd love to see a "no meta upgrade" successful run... getting to the final boss, and kill him... gonna be hard, and take some time...

It bugs me that you have the bomb and you don’t use it. Even if it only breaks 4 blocks, that’s 4 blocks you don’t need to mine… 🫠
It’s usually not worth dragging with you. Takes more time to find a good spot for it than to just mine yourself
Even if it’s not a good spot it is wasted potential just sitting there.
