I'm sorry if the video look rushed at some points. I really wanted to have a video out before the end of the year. And because of some personal projects, that seemed like an impossible task. But I did it!

Lens flare effect is actually nice feature. Because, you know, Gordon wears glasses. I see pretty much same things when I look at light source with my glasses.

FYI your issue with the cliffs is a result of a mod you have.
This game looks so beautiful now. I recently got a new gaming laptop and I also found out about the new graphics update so it gave me a new reason to replay the game and i'm really impressed with it.
My FPS actually improved with this update. The only places where I dropped under 60 FPS were We've got Hostiles map c and the Surface Tension uncut maps during two large fights (Tow courtyard and the tank/manta scene). Places that had drops before, like Surface Tension garage or the final teleporter fight, were completely smooth for me now.
+kovic The drops in performance is different on every system I reckon. The surface tension uncut maps do indeed still lagg, even on my system. The game is still in beta so I suppose they will fix many performance issues before the game goes out of early access.
Really? Are you comparing every setting on max with the update compared to every setting on max to before the update? Cause I swear I'm losing a few more frames than I originally did with the update, although it definitely looks a lot better visually.
If only Source Filmmaker had this kind of quality

The lag is because the update pretty much makes every single light cast an accurate shadow in the game.
I can not wait for Xen to be released!

NelyL Same here. Water does the job, but it's glitchy if more than one is used per areaportal.
I really want the old lightning back, the game runs like shit now.

Awesome video. From one community member to another, I can see that you're going to go far.
I really disliked the latest update. It kills FPS, even on my PC (I consistently run The Witcher 3 at 90fps ultra), and it doesn't even look that brilliant. Plus, as an occasional mapper who likes to screw around with things like displacements, the breakage of the compilation tools is just a total washout for me.
Plus... no Xen.

+Lambda Videos First of all, thanks for your compliment! Second, the compile tools aren't fully broken. I got an error compiling a complex map I've been developing at the vvis section, but it allowed me to continue. As far as I can see the map didn't look off. I do wonder if that gets fixed though. Kinda annoying, leaving you map to compile while taking out the trash only to find out that message is bricking progress.
VVIS to me is really important for mapping though, it's kinda a deal breaker if it doesn't work. Maps without VVIS chuuuuug really badly.

I want to try this new update but the CSM is not working. (in the oldor version its OK) CSM settings on Ultra and the Shadow Detail also on High but its look like its on low... i try the "-force_vendor_id 0x10DE -force_device_id 0x1180" and -dxlevel 95 lunch option but not helping. AMD 6950 2GB Any help?

+Sprizzy Open the dev-console by pressing the ~ button and type in "sv_cheats 1". Then type "noclip" and you're set.

The scope is completely fucked beyond reproach. But it's not like the previous one was any better as it used a second render pass to create the zoom-in effect. Which was more performance intensive.
It's a placeholder while they fix the performance issues with the previous one.

Guys help please I got black mesa with the new update but I try to launch the game it won't I saw it in taskmanger but it close and nothing is starting

Man, i can run this game with a Intel Core I3 3110m, Intel HD 4000, Windows 8.1, 4 GB ram in high at 30fps

in the test map what is the sky name on the map ps that sky is for xen and i would like to try to put it into the xen mod to see how it looks
The Skybox Texture Name is xen_sky_5.

It has. People who have bad PC's simply have to turn these new lighting features off, and therefore they couldn't see the change of the update.
This lighting update is just in public-beta version. Not in normal version. If u have normal version downloaded, u will not have any lighting update either u have bad pc or good pc to run it.
Nigga BMS runs on Source HL2, even my shitty pc got it on 60FPS

Well your PC is not so shitty then. I get 60FPS in HL2, yet I get 11FPS in Black Mesa.

The songs called "Butterfield 2" by Marc Torch. It's available on Epidemic Sound but you may be able to find it on RUclips as well.

+Lyall James You'd need to update to the public beta branch of the game. This has to be done manually trough Steam.
I have a problem why when I start writing the nr_shadow_max.... the console didnt show me that this command exist?

Not exactly. You'd have to set your game to the public beta branch first. I'm not sure when they decide to make the update official.
Thanks for making it clear :) I wont reinstall the game until then. (Had played with it so many times, I even counted the npcs we can find)
