- hopefully I start making things again
(done on the release version of the game)
Notes Below
I find that figuring out parkour paths can really save you at later ranks, as you can avoid troublesome rooms. I sadly didn't get the Glock during this run, but I deal with it by keeping the slide locked to avoid Glock Leg™
For Turrets, I usually go for the camera, although you can also go for the ammo box on the back end. Keep in mind if it's sees you once, it'll chamber a round. If you shoot the ammo box after this, you'll need to juke out the chambered round.
For Drones I aim for center of mass mostly, If I have a really good shot, I go for the battery, which is right above the camera. For Rank 5 you see me deliberately get seen by drones, and run off. When they stop chasing you, they'll just float around their position, which should give you a good chance to hack them.
For Cameras, I either just avoid them, or go for the lens. They only lure drones towards your position, which can actually be pretty beneficial due to the previously mentioned drone trick.
Receiver 2: store.steampow...
7:52 the sound design in this game is S tier, you try to ram through a window but are met with a humorous _(THUNK)_
@cannonfighter29very late but no, some windows are just tougher than others. Some you can just casually jump through, others are so tough that you can't even break them with a running start.
1:50 a receiver must always keep their energy up by having a snack every once and a while its not easy doing all that running around and shooting drones
can't fight back against The Threat on an empty stomach!
@@TheEmeraldSword04 very true maybe the fridges have a snickers or something
@@vicenteperez2136 yea, maybe it'll convert our paper target back into an epic gamer, you aren't yourself when you're hungry.

Finally, awesome walkthrough with no commentary, thank you very much
Shooting glass with a bullet can hurt you with shards but running through glass face first is ok?
L + The Mindkill got you + No bullets + Double Feed
To be fair, the game basically says that the Receivers teach you a Mindtech specifically to run through glass for a quick escape. Shooting glass and letting shards fall on you isn't a quick escape, it's a rookie mistake, so they wouldn't waste valuable time before the Mindkill teaching you how to resist glass shards as a whole when the only time you'll really need to interact with glass is running through it.
You can see how he breathes and feels this game, the receiver training paid off :)
absolutely bonkers
I wanna be like that someday
18:34 Huh, didn't know you could do that, neat
How do you do that?
Yeah, it's not a well-known technique because you could jam your gun easy that way.
@@Gideon020 Yeah I tried it and got a double feed or something lol
@@gabriel7037 Make sure you press check the gun over and over until you see the extractor grab the cartridge. The reason why it's double feeding is because the extractor isn't grabbing the cartridge since the gun wasn't cycled properly. I was so surprised by the level of detail it's so amazing!
Ow, I turned up the volume to hear the tape & forgot guns go BANG!
R.I.P
thank you for not talking at all through this
I like how the player model is actually a shooting range target lol
me too. it was kind of chilling
If you listen to one of the tapes you’ll know why your a target
@@gladtrout4042 I really liked that tape
btw, if anyone is wondering what that "debug float slider" thing at the top right of the pause menu at 1:28:00. it tends to show up during long play sessions, I'm not even sure if it does anything?
tbh it shows for me only if i use debug menu stuff
@@luxettenebrae4424 Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was patched out by now/soon. I've seen a few streams of people who also had that debug float slider thing show up while playing for the first time.
Does disabling already downed drones do anything? They can't seem to be able to go anywhere after you've shot them down
They can still taze you if you get too close. Even then, I mostly do it so I won't freak out when I walk by and hear a *BEEP* thinking I'm about to die.
but nah it's just some drone who can't even fly lmao
I shot myself so many times I gave up on pistols and just used revolvers and I still die.
Then hold the holster button and use the safety and boom you won’t shoot yourself
this game is amazing
That's a cool trick to dump all your bullets on the floor with your revolver!
Wow you are a master at this I didn’t even get past the second tape in the first game any tips?
Biggest tip is to shoot at center of mass for drones, it doesn't matter where you hit, you'll always either take them down, or you can run off while they give themselves a concussion by hitting the nearest brick wall.
Also playing fast & stupid is a quick way to learn what does and doesn't work in this game. Also if you can hack a turret, always do that to save on ammo. If you can't get close enough, get as close as possible so you won't miss your shot.
Learning movement tricks can really save you in scenarios where you're stuck between two really difficult areas.
I haven't played the game since it came out so I have no idea how much of what I did is still possible, but give it a try. I did this run when I was at a point where I can consistently beat the game with 1 or 2 deaths tops, start to finish.
@@Kaneish thanks for the tip
@@Kaneish great video btw I watched it all
Quick question that security camera that you kept dodging why didn't you just shoot it?
im hella cheap with bullets
also cameras only make nearby drones chase you for a little bit, which can easily be dealt with by running away for 30 seconds or so. and then the drones are probably in an easy spot to shoot or even hack!
If they even follow me, drones are dumb and slow in this department
Oh ok thx
@@Kaneish Do you know whether drones were changed in the last 7 months? I'm hella scared of them, because unlike the drones in Receiver 1 the drones in Receiver 2 seem to follow my footsteps, so running around corners and hiding behind doors are no longer viable strategies.
@@Cubinator73 keep running and hide dude lol
@@Cubinator73 They take longer to unaggro and seem to presume where you are going after you take some corners. So you need to take a few more corners before hiding.
this shit is bananas
51:00 I wish got a chance at Liminal with a Sig with full mag and some spare bullets :( I either get a revolver or there's no bullets.
Edit: let me write it correctly - after the last tape required on any level (it's marked with the Ascension theme) is done playing, you have a few seconds before you Ascend to the next level. As your vision blurs and your sight goes dark, you are completely invurnerable and the enemies won't detect you
In the time between picking the final tape and ascending, you are completely immortal and can fall from huge heights.
I am the 60 also i FUCKING love this this game also nice work keep it up
What does turning off the lights do?
It makes the lights from enemies stick out like a sore thumb. Although sleeper turrets get more difficult to see, so I don't leave them off.
@@Kaneish The latest update put a blinking red light on the sensor of sleeping turrets, so you can still see them in the dark. Also, achievements! :)
@@Kaneish Light also effects turrets at longer ranges so they take longer to spot you and sometimes cannot spot you at all.
@@Bruh-d unfortunately, no, darkness doesn't affect turrets' sights. The flashlight can make Killdrones detect you really easily, but apart from that, a Killdrone can see perfectly fine in light or dark.
@@TheHumbleHollow No, The Turrets have their own light. They have reduced detection range if you have your flashlight off, you can test this by parkouring onto the roofs and standing up. Far away Turrets cannot aim at you until you flash a light at them. Even ones that are level with you or above you and are looking your way.
does the game have controller support or just keyboard and mouse?
Why do you pop the balloons?
They always drop at least one bullet, sometimes two. So I always come out with the same amount of bullets as before, or even more than I had.
@@Kaneish I believe balloons drop one to three bullets, though getting all three is pretty rare. I've seen people mistakenly believe you only ever get one bullet, so they won't shoot balloons unless there are multiple lined up.
My strat is to play it slow and wait for a turret to be in sight then i take its cam out and hack it or just hack it if i can never use the flashlight im more of a sharpshooter then a gun runner
So, what's a receiver?
think of it kind of like a drug mule. Go in, collect the tapes, and leave.
A receiver of a gun is the part of the gun that accepts the mag and holds the action of the firearm.
(It's the part that the ATF calls "The firearm")
the bottom half of a pistol and the handle cluster for rifles, you can get on a watchlist for searching those up in fact, but the rest of the gun is a-okay since they lack the component to make them fire.
A game
the one who receives
How.
Has someone awake due to this game?
Keep trying to beat this game, feel like its unnecessarily punishing with dumb mechanics.
Anyone who defends the glocklegging mechanic has never holstered a weapon in their life.
I'm serious, I don't give a shit about 'but muh probability manipulation', in no world should a Glock be more likely to misfire than a hammer-fired pistol primed with safety off.
@Nonya Biizwacs The player-character clearly has extensive training with firearms and is most likely using a proper holster, so it makes no sense for them to have an ingrained reflex to rake the trigger during unholstering, much less during holstering-during holstering the reflex would be to keep your finger OUT of the trigger guard so you can actually holster it. In what world are we supposed to buy that the player character knows how to breech-load a semi-auto handgun but doesn't have the most basic of proper holstering reflexes developed?
Your statement is a strawman, because the holster would most likely cover the trigger as well, meaning the grab leads upon the grip, not the trigger.
@Nonya Biizwacs
One of the tapes makes a really big deal of having a holster that "completely protects the controls of the weapon"-this is further reinforced by how consistently the character is able to draw their weapon in terms of speed. I thought the point of instincts were that you can act them out without putting much thought into them.
Besides, call me crazy but raking the trigger as you draw the gun is actually counter-intuitive and something only someone who's basically never seen a gun would do, especially if we assume a proper holster is in play.
@Nonya Biizwacs Explainable by other factors, such as improper holstering (letting your shirt get into the holster as you do it can pressure the trigger), or unironically having dogshit training(more like no training tbh), which the player character clearly doesn't if they can breech-load a semiauto handgun, or perhaps a combination of no proper holster and a mechanical misfire unrelated to the holstering process.
