Aaaaand we're on to a different rotation! Internal medicine with a GI specialist! INCREDIBLE. The vibes are sooo much different than surgery. Comment down below what rotation you'd want to experience most! :D
The rotations that I would want to experience most would be surgery and OB/GYN. Currently an incoming pre med freshman! I am excited to see how you like the rotation, how it goes for you and what your up to on it! Lots of love! ❤️🐜🩺
Can't wait to see you do OB/GYN since you enjoyed it so much during pre-clinicals 🤗 Personally I am interested in doing surgery or derm...but the surgery rotation scares me 🤯 so maybe derm lol
Love your excitement about GI. It‘s my favorite. Must be. I‘m a GI-specialist. During my studies I liked pediatrics best. The most difficult rotation for me was surgery. It is really nice to see you enjoying being taught. I‘m teaching a lot and I must say that mostly the students aren‘t interested at all. That is so disappointing sometimes. That’s why I’m testing my students the first days. When I see they want to learn then they look things up and ask questions. Those students are allowed to learn more and try several things (ultrasound, EGD, colonoscopy etc.). I have fun teaching interested students and I‘d be happy to have students like you. Greetings from a German MD.
Omg Rachel honestly you’re the sweetest for getting your residents coffee. You’re such an empathetic soul and you’d be the best doctor!! (Literally would love a doctor like you in the future)
“Go me. Go Rachel she made it “ 😂😂😂😂 Yesssss you made it and you are doing so great! You’re such an inspo for all of us who are preparing to enter med school !
I really love the idea of the quizzes that the Dr gives you! It makes me so happy that there are senior (as in not an intern) Dr's that really care about teaching medical students and interns and put in the effort to educate them. It gives me hope that I'll meet people like that along the way in my medical journey too.
Congratulations on completing your first rotation. Your happiness says it all. I am glad your current rotation has a doctor who is willing to teach and has passion for teaching and medicine. They make the best doctors. Yay Rachel!
I firmly believe that coffee and the occasional late night snack are the way into any doctors heart. It’s really nice to see that the environment change had such a positive effect and that you’re so into it. Cannot undervalue a good working environment. Your students are your patients too and deserve the same amount of care and that’s how they learn to care for others. It seems like really fascinating stuff you’re getting into. It reminds me that a lot of doctors who are running tests are genuinely interested in what they do and aren’t just going through motions whether it’s the job itself or the patient they really do care about the people and the work. I think sometimes people forget their doctor’s really are invested deeply in their patients. That’s always cool to remember.
I’m so glad you’re having a good experience in your rotations and at clinical. When I was going to school for ultrasound technologist I did not get taught, only yelled at and threatened that I’d get kicked out by the clinical site. It all worked out bc I left that speciality and switched to doing healthcare administration and I like it so much more. I’m almost finished with my degree, 4 months!

Internal medicine seems so much more chill and up your ally, but my end goal is surgery 🥵 I love your vlogs because they really keep me motivated so thank you Rachel!!
I love that you emphasize how much you're learning in your rotations. It's really comforting knowing that all your hard work is paying off with the knowledge you're gaining! That's awesome!
Internal medicine was such a dream of mine for so long! I hope you have an amazing time and I’m sure you’re going to learn so much. I’m living through you! We’re all so proud🥲
Rachel thank you so much for another amazing vlog!! You are literally an inspiration for me! I'm trying to get my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, I have something like a big paper to finish and you are my study buddy every single day! I'm so proud of you and for all of us the red ants. I take a serious boost of positivity every time I read the comments ✨ Hugs and kisses from Greece ❤️❤️🌻
She's happy 🙌 Honestly I live your vlogs and the studying because it motivates me to study and work harder, as it will be my final year of Pharmacology 😃 and you give so much motivation to keep pushing and never give up 😊 Thank you 🤍

Yeah, I just know I was meant to do internal medicine lol. Im a senior in college, been a sub for 2 yrs, but im so worried about med school cause my grades arent the highest. God bless everyone and hope we all get our dreams!
Hey Rachel, I first wanted to say you're a huge motivation for me during pre med, and keep up the great work!! I been struggling to see myself maintain hobby commitments that I'm a part of now while I'm in med school (if all goes well). Do you find your self finding time or energy to maybe put towards other things? Much appreciated!

Hey! Do you have anything you try to omit in your videos to protect HIPAA? I’m a nursing student and really want to make videos on it but I’m worried about getting in trouble. I love your videos!
Can you explain the pre med , me school , rotain and residency journey in the us as I'm a UK medical student looking to study abroad and like when you become a qualified doctor when you start getting paid etc etc
Hi! So I’m interested in going to medical school (I start undergrad this year!). I was wondering when you’re on rotations what do you do assignment wise? Thanks for being you and sharing your wonderful journey :)!
