Hi everyone! Missed you so much last week. Back at it with a great vlog all about my first week on my inpatient pediatrics rotation! Lots of newborns (my absolute favorite), and you can see the highs and lows of peds. I can see how this particular field can be incredibly depressing, but also very rewarding.
It's so sweet how Rachel calls them "my babies" 🥰☺️☺️ She would be the best ob/gyn if that's the path she decided to take
1st year med student here and seeing your vlogs give me so much inspiration to keep pushing forward. best of luck on the rest of your rotation!!
Absolutely love that you included aspects of the physical exam for a newborn on here. I just finished learning the general physical exam so it’s really neat to see how it’s altered to accommodate for a newborn. Also may I just say it’s so fun to watch you go through pediatrics or anything OB/GYN related. You have obviously found an area that excites you 🥰
"You will always have a good excuse to start later, just don't listen to yourself."
I really liked the example question you showed us as well as the physical exam explanation in the end. Whooo! For more learning :))) ❤️ Ty!!!!!
The way you talk about those babies and how much care and happiness you have for them makes me believe you would be a great doctor dealing with babies.
Your videos are so relaxing Rach! Hope you're having a great weekend!
so excited for this! lots of love - we are all so proud of the beautiful person you are 🤍paediatrics is my dream x
Seeing you so happy and excited was such a mood booster! ☺️🤍
It’s really nice to see people in the process of jumping between all the experience they’re ever going to need to get where they want to be. I think it can help people believe in pursuing their own dreams a little, which I totally struggle with. I’ve never gotten to see new born life like that. Must be the most beautiful and life affirming thing. It’s good to remember that always exists.
Loved hearing that all these weird tests I'm learning in first year are actually applicable outside the classroom! Just learned about Babinski and all that last week :') Thanks for not cutting out that last clip!
Thank you for sharing this video!!! I hardly ever see people sharing pediatrics and I’ve always wondered what it’s really like coming from a student so I really enjoyed this video and I’m very excited for future vlogs about the pediatrics rotation too (and of course your vlogs in general!!)!!!!
Al fin vlogs más largos. Amoo 🥰😍
You made me so excited for rotations to start up in Feb☺️
Thank you for uploading these experiences! It's really inspiring for people interested in pursuing medicine
seeing you happy is how i felt during my rotation in nursing school. i just got an nurse externship in the nicu and i’m so excited to start! i love your videos, they definitely keep me motivated 😊
I’ve been waiting for this video for so long!! I want to go into pediatrics
love it how you share medical info like
I am a first year med student and am most interested in peds, so thank you for this video! What you said about babies not having a voice is exactly why I want to go into pediatrics. It is a special thing that one day we will be physicians to all sorts of populations that are very vulnerable, and we can be their voice/advocate when they can't do it on their own. 🤍 much love!
