It is a priviledge to be a paediatrician, to be with innocent world of children and to take care of future citizens. Almighty keeps them healthy always.
As you said, pediatricians, unlike other specialties, rarely get totally excited by a difficult case. Nothing is more fulfilling than seeing a healthy child grow and thrive.
I am an 8 year old and ever since I was 6 I’ve always wanted to be a pediatrician. This is the perfect video for me. My mom tells me every single thing I can know about a doctor. She is not one, she just knows stuff.
You’re too cute! You’ll be a great doctor someday if you keep focused, like you are now. PS: you’re a great writer, especially for someone your age. Most adults in comment sections have terrible grammar, so good for you!
Thank you so much! You are super nice! Want to know the things I know so far? (About being a doctor) also sorry I didn’t reply right away I was sleeping
I'm 14 year's old now, ever since I was 12, I wanted to be a pediatrician. As I love children so much. I'm so determined to be a pediatrician. I'm so excited 😄
I’m about to start medical school soon and your videos have definitely played a huge role in informing me about the field of medicine and getting me excited for the next decade of my life!!! Thank you! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I’ve recently made a significant switch from elementary education major to a biology major to try and get into medical school for pediatrics. I have many young siblings and nieces/nephews so I have lots of experience taking care of kids already and I find enjoyment in taking care of them. I can’t wait to see how it’ll translate into my fatherhood days.
The average pediatrician works approximately 50 hours per week. This includes time spent in the office, visiting patients in the hospital, doing paperwork and being on call. 👍
I’m 15 years old, but since I was about 7, I knew I wanted to do something health related. At the time I imagined it would be a nurse but being a pediatrician gets my attention. I really have no idea of the future, but I really hope I end up doing something I love.
I do think pediatricians have a great place in our childhood memories, I fell sick with pneumonia almost every year as a kid (till i got into my teenage) and multiple years my healthy got critically bad, i do remember the doctor who used to treat me then and it pretty much makes me thankful that he treated me well that time so I could grow up healthily
In my country Pediatricians only see patients aged 13 and below. It's pretty interesting to me that as a 24 year old I would have to see a pediatrician if I lived in the states.
Not necessarily have to see a pediatrician (at least where I live in Florida) you can see other doctors. I believe the 25 yr old age is simply the cap that pediatricians can practice on. If anyone wants to fact check me feel free but that’s always what I’ve understood
Yes, depending on the practice, hospital, and insurance, people ages 18-25 are given a transition period where they can find an adult physician to continue their care. As a 24 year old, you don't HAVE to see a pediatrician, you can transfer care at any time during early adulthood.
Even though im not interested in this specialty, THE VIDEOS ARE GREAT DR. J. Your narration is getting better and better and so, all of the videos are excellent!
I'm struggling to know what I want to be without much experience. I know about the field of pediatrics and it may interest me because you get to learn about the well being of children and help them throughout their development but I also want to do exciting things like surgery. But there are also fields outside of Medicine that will need less studying but may be just as fun and exciting.
my pedia doctor influences me to become one, she's my doctor since i was a toddler and now 21😂 already an adult but she already knows how my body works so we really trust her😂
i think family medicine and general practice are the same thing, just different names. family doctors are usually in north america, and general practitioners are in europe? feel free to correct me if i’m wrong
Thank you so much for this video, @Med School Insiders ! It was incredible to watch: it felt like every piece of the puzzle fits me. Before med school, I was a preschool tutor & I loved the dynamic of working with my students & their parents. Building relationships was the most rewarding part for me. I have a soft personality and try to be optimistic at all times, even as I suffered academic adversity in cardiovascular & nervous system blocks. This summer I get to help out on some hospital quality improvement research back at home. I'm so close to finishing year 1 & it's so reaffirming to see all the pieces of my dream and personality in this video!
I'm 14 and I want to become a Psychiatrist someday but somehow I also want to become a Pediatrician, the reason why, is because I have a personal pedia since I was a baby and she became my younger brother's (4 yrs old) pedia as well. I've been into hospital a lot as a young kid for monthy check-up or when I am sick (I rarely get sick) and the time when I had dengue. I'm always on my pedia's clinic and we're very close. I grew closer to her as I grew up and she became a role model to me, I also have a heart for kids that's why I want to become a Pediatrician, and if I became a Psychiatrist I want to focus on children. Hoping that I'll find the path that God wants me to be~ Lord guide me 🙏 And for those people who wants to be a pediatrician as well, GOOD LUCK~ LOVE LOTS GUYS!
Being a doctor has been my parents dream for me. Whenever I said, “I want to be a doctor.” I was just reciting what was given to me. But even though it’s the same thing, I’ve always wanted to be a paediatrician. And apart from the arts and teaching primary school, I’ve never seen any other job for me.The thought that I could be the protector I myself lacked as a child seemed like the obvious purpose for me. Taking care of the next generation feels like such an honour. I start university soon and I’m so excited to begin my journey with God’s help.
My whole life I wanted to be a doctor not a single day past that I never used the words "you want to be a doctor right? so you have to work harder than you did yesterday because you need to grow more" and I'm only 11yrs old yet these sentences always make me do so much for the day. ever since I was a child I wanted to be a pediatrician. this video helped so much It placed more knowledge on me. and now I'm sure that God gave me all these abilities so I can be his instrument in healing children.
Wow you're amazing. I'm in medschool first year and it's really tight. I also absolutely love children, although they can be loud at times, whcih is why I also have pediatrics in mind for a specialty. And everyday, I do ask the same question as you. Eventhough I'm not doing as much as many people are, I'm still doing my best. Beyond all my hardwork, only God can give me the right opportunities to suceed.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! This brings such a clearer view on what I want to do in the future. Also I’ve been heavily interested in advocacy work for children’s rights, I didn’t know that it was something pediatrics has in common! This is making me even more excited!!
Good video. I completed my internship few months ago and pediatrics was always what I liked before it. The thing is during my internship, pediatrics was kinda brutal, the amount of screaming kids, placing IV lines on tiny hands, parents giving children herbal medications before coming to you. It was painful, yes the relationship with parents was good, but it's tough really tough that I ran away from anything peds but it's still a good profession and reconsidering it despite the experience
I’m 11 and every since I was 5 I’ve wanted too be a pediatrician! I love kids and I was scared of the doctor when I was younger.. So I really wanna help other kids get over that fear in positive ways! Like positive training for a dog but with kids and doctors 😊🥺
Thank you so much! I’ve been wanting to know more about pediatrics, since I’m not that sure about the path I truly want. So much information in one video, this channel is so helpful~
