I work for T-Mobile and I will say that the Moto G 5G has been one of (At least at my store) the more popular phones we’ve been selling, especially on our prepaid side. On T-Mobile prepaid you get the Moto G for free if you get $100 worth of service and for that price the phone has been flying off the shelves. Even for a $168 it isn’t bad since we don’t have the G Play so a lot of people have been buying them as secondary phones or as spares. For what it offers at $168 retail with having 128 GB of storage and a 120 hrz screen, it looks pretty appealing to the casual and budget conscious customers.

@@Jcccc23 I bought one myself just to have it as a spare phone, it works great for the price. No stutters or lag, just a little slow when opening some apps but nothing crazy at all
The model from 2022 was also a great one. I still have the phone as a device I just screw around with. A few months after the phone got Android 13, I unlocked it's bootloader, installed custom firmware, rooted it, and am now having fun doing whatever I want with it.
This reminds me of the Moto G Fast from 2020, nothing standout, its just a phone that works. Honestly kudos to Moto for continuing their lineup, the US really needs options like this.
Wade, you make good and valid points but you gotta be more balanced towards Motorola. They’re not perfect but neither are Samsung or Google. I’ve watched many within the tech space destroy Motorola and while some of it is deserved, those same people will praise Samsung and their comparable price point phones are garbage. Yes, the A15 5g which is the same price as this Moto G 5g has an amoled screen but it sucks on performance. The Moto G 5g will likely outperform the A15 despite having a better, brighter display. Every phone has its trade offs. One area where Motorola has gotta improve is software support over at least 5 years. At that many years of support, you can forgive any shortcomings. I enjoy your videos but you have to be a little more fair towards all brands.
Hey, I think he's got a point about Motorola. It's 2024, not 2019, and they're still selling phones with crappy displays. Even Samsung sells cheap phones with better screens. And don't even get me started on the camera. Motorola hasn't made any real improvements to their camera software in years. They're just giving customers a cheap and basic experience instead of trying to compete with the rest of the market.
@@zakibey7 did you even read my first sentence? I said Wade made valid points. But he praises Samsung devices all the time. He said the A54 was great for 99% of people yet it’s utter garbage. You can hate on Motorola for not having long enough support which is fair. I don’t think most people have even used Moto phones long term or else they’d know their phones just work well. Again, it’s a consistency issue. You lose your credibility when you aren’t objective. You can’t say Motorola sucks and then praise Samsung, it shows a bias. Lower to midrange Samsungs have great displays but are underpowered and plain out don’t perform well. Wade typically does hate on Motorola devices despite making a few valid points. Even he has said in his past videos covering Moto devices that he hasn’t been kind to them. Some of it justified, sure. Some of it is a subjective dislike based on what he personally likes. Samsung phones are trash regardless, I've had so many of them the battery life is a few hours a day. You gotta charge it twice a day and their phones don't last long. I currently have a Google Pixel 7 Pro, my charging port for audio music stopped working, I only had the phone for just over a year. I cleaned the port and it still isn't working. But the Samsung heavy UI slows it down Moto 5g has a better processor. This phone gets one android update and 3 years of security updates. Decided to order this phone. If my bank app didn't need android 12 I wouldn't be aware that I needed a new phone to replace my G6. The battery has outperformed 4 other brands of phones I've owned so I'm sticking with Motorola. I'll be getting 4 times as much memory and up to a virtual 8GB of ram so I am looking forward to some speed improvement, as my G6 memory is near full.
Surprising to see Motorola being so bad in US, in India every Moto phone comes with Charger & case in the box + very best price to specs ratio with clean UI. This US model has so many bloatware while setup with isn't there even in budget Moto phones in India 😅
Got my mom one for $10.69 with Boost as a yearly upgrade discounted phone. Not bad for $10 and its not like she was gonna upgrade if I didn’t make her. I will def be using my “yearly upgrade” to get her the iPhone 12 for $120 in a month or so
Hi Motorola. For 2025 here’s the lineup you should have. Moto G Play at $179. Moto G 5G at $249. Moto G 5G stylus at $329. If you’re just going to give discounts a month after they release might as well just price them with the discount already from the start. Give all the phones dual front firing speakers, 1080p displays, 120 Hz refresh rate, expandable storage, headphone jack, like three years of major software support and security patches and you good to go. For the cameras, I’ll tell you now I don’t know anyone that uses a macro lens at two megapixels. Two cameras is enough. Main camera and a wide angle. if Samsung can do it why not you guys?
Wade I just purchased my Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 phone off the Boost Mobile site for my upgrade. The cost of my phone was $39.99 plus tax and the insurance which add to the cost.... Like you have stated countless of times never paid full price for a phone😂 haha. Now you have something much better than the Motorola Moto G 5G 2024. In my opinion I think the Stylus top all those phones giving it slightly over the Edge.
Ive noticed the android os updates usually install more garbage or give you a worse ui Oneplus basically lost me from updating oxygen os 11 to 12 and seeing how clunky and bad it is after the os update
Even if they did include a brick, it would be a 15w brick instead of an 18w one just knowing them, when all the others were at 20w-30w charging (back in 2020), Moto was only giving 10w bricks. I know since I have at least 3 or 4 of them sprinkled all over the house. The phone supports the higher charge rate, but (if they did) include a brick Moto themselves wouldn't and send the aforementioned 15w brick instead of one that charges faster. (*for the budget/lower midrange phones of course) If they do ship with bricks what do the higher end motorola's ship with? (Bricks = Charging adapter)
A real sustainability stance would be giving updates for longer, and don't have users to change a phone every 2/3 years - but would be a real move and not branding.
Lol don't even get me started on that. The sustainability facade these companies perpetuate is barely a pander towards the 0.1% of people who care about that let alone anything that causes a real difference. True sustainability would be manufacturing less phones that are better and supported for longer, providing high quality accessories that are power efficient, and supporting via software for 3-4 years. Making a faux recycled box literally does nothing.
For the same price you can import Poco M6 Pro. It is better in every regard. (Like 120hz full HD AMOLED display for example) Motorola seriously needs to step up their game.
Can you compare the Motorola G Stylus 2024 5G with the Samsung A35 5G? I think it would be a good comparison seeing the improvement both companies have made throughout the years.
Bought this for an upgrade from the moto g 2022 for $10 plus $1 shipping. Score lol not expecting a amazing but just a phone that'll play videos while at work.

It's a huge market for those of us who don't ever come to grips with spending a cash car for a phone I can do FPW gaming on MEDIUM- low graphics settings but with high refresh and the 120hz refresh rate is sick im ngl... higher than any other phone in the category and price. LCD is bad, I have gotten use to it and I don't even notice anymore. Battery rocks since I use it for work. Speakers and entertainment on Motorola is 👑
2020 is when Motorola was good and made better spec phones. The 2020 Moto g has better specs than even the newest Moto g 2024. It has 1080p resolution display, 4k video 30 fps video recording and 1080p 60, ultrawide camera, 6gb ram, 20w charging, and even HDR10!! Motorola used to have the best specs on their 2020 phones but now in 2024 their 2024 budget phones have worst specs than 4 years ago, what a joke. At least give us 4k video with 1080p 60 fps video recording, 1080p display, and an ultrawide camera it shouldn't be that hard to do and I don't understand why they refuse to do it.
In India for 150dollars u can buy Moto G34 5g with SD695 8GB of Ram 128GB storage only downside for some users is its HD+ 120hz display 20w charger in the box

@@cristakatsumi8515 I did get this phone, and really like it. Would you not mind explaining how to use the feature you mentioned.
Been looking for a quality LCD screen phone for a relative with epilepsy. This could work nicely. Apparently the new iPhone SE will be OLED, which is a dealbreaker.
I've always loved Moto Phones, for the most part good value for money. But I do miss the moto of old. The Moto X was my favorite Mot phone.
I only paid 54.99 with the carrier that I'm with. a pretty good discount
This guy would not like pay phones. He's a phone elitist for sure. Has the newest iPhone every year and judges people who have service from Cricket. :D
Yup his vids are becoming annoying at this point.
Excellent, well articulated review! Very professional delivery!
The Moto g stylus offers AMOLED (2024)
I'm running a Motorola G-6 and Motorola G Power 2021.
Once my phone is setup i dont want a system update.
I prefer my 2018 Motorola G6
Its a good back up phone for sure
I got the 15 pro max and just got a 60$ one from Walmart for a back up for clash Royale and clash of clans email accounts for gaming
Do they still only offer 2 years of software support? Thats a non starter for me.
After two years most people switch brands anyway.
@@jevonsims900 True, but I have to use my phone for work BYOD, so it has to be at a certain Android security patch level. And if it stops getting updates it's a paperweight for me. I'd like to get a cheaper functional phone but probably best to stick with flagships that get frequent updates.
Have had this phone for months now. It is faster than the Samsung A15 5g. Tech guys praise that phone & it lags bad. The US version A15 5g only had 4g. Ram . But the Samsung heavy UI slows it down Moto 5g has a better processor. This phone gets one android update and 3 years of security updates. None of the budget phones processors will be able to handle 3 major software updates will the budget hardware.
I agree totally with just the 4gb ram.Moto needs to give the upgraded version 6 GB ram.
@@Charles-mu9ji I gave up and bought a Pixel 8 Pro, expensive, but 7 years of updates. Got an Android update recently and it's improved the phone. I'm pretty happy with it. Worst con is battery life, it's not great. But I just keep it on my wireless charging cradle while I'm working. With 12GB of RAM, Tensor proc, and high refresh it is liquid smooth.
I have, I think a 2021, moto g pure and I've liked it a lot but it seems to be going downhill of late and was thinking about getting this. It doesn't seem all that bad though, or so I hope.
This is a huge upgrade.
I made the exact same jump and other than the screen,
Blown away
Thumbs down because I don't like the way you review phones. Little side comments makes you sound woke. No thanks.
Lol how are they woke?
Its $10 in Boost mobile so its worth the price tag 😂
I like the 128 gigs of space, I'm on the Moto G 5G 2022 version and it only came with 64 gigs of space. I have an SD card but can't move any apps to the card unless I jailbreak the phone. 😬
I was able to get this phone for $69 this past week at Wal Mart, I'm very happy with it for the price.
Yeah i just picked mine up today from Boost Mobile for $10 ... I'm not complaining at all ;)
Who's that cutie in the picture? 😏😏
I'm buying this because I want a simple phone. I used to buy Samsung and it lasted 3 years for a $2000 phone. Filled with bloatware . If you think you're saving the world because you buy a certain phone you're brainwashed lol. It's the least environmental thing we have. They used to last a long time. It's disposable. If you're that concerned about graphics, you'd invest in them. You sound pretentious
If Moto didn't add value to their phones in Asia they couldn't sell in Asia. America needs to learn how to boycott again.
@@jevonsims900 Americans are already not buying Motorola I guess 😅
Because of the far greater competition and demand for value for money in India
They are buying them where I live.
Pre ordered this phone yesterday. Trading my 5g ace.
Good dependable nice weighted phone
My favorite burner phone go to
Got my mom one for $10.69 with Boost as a yearly upgrade discounted phone. Not bad for $10 and its not like she was gonna upgrade if I didn’t make her. I will def be using my “yearly upgrade” to get her the iPhone 12 for $120 in a month or so
Boost mobile upgrade discounts are awesome. I got the g stylus for $42 bux
Can you do review on Motorola g45
I paid ten dollars for this phone. It was well worth ten bucks
What else would you get compared to this one?
Its a basic phone that does what is supposed to,,whats there to complain about.. Dont like it, dont buy it.
Thanks for the review. Price wise, I will go with this.
I got the same deal 😂 without the insurance. Excellent deal
@justjoe8660 Yes it was....So happy with my purchase👍🏾!!!
As an iphone user I'm enjoy the Motorola g. Feels good In the hands and the software isn't so bad.
Yes seems like a good phone for pre- teen my daughters 11 an considering getting it for her to have
Ive noticed the android os updates usually install more garbage or give you a worse ui
Oneplus basically lost me from updating oxygen os 11 to 12 and seeing how clunky and bad it is after the os update
$79.00 bucks at Walmart through total Verizon!
I paid 58 from Walmart through at and t lol
$10 bux at boost mobile
It's very easy to get up and running.
Should i buy this or the 2023 version?
He posted a link in his description to get it for 200 bucks
@@flint9889lol I got mine for $58
Even if they did include a brick, it would be a 15w brick instead of an 18w one just knowing them, when all the others were at 20w-30w charging (back in 2020), Moto was only giving 10w bricks. I know since I have at least 3 or 4 of them sprinkled all over the house. The phone supports the higher charge rate, but (if they did) include a brick Moto themselves wouldn't and send the aforementioned 15w brick instead of one that charges faster. (*for the budget/lower midrange phones of course)
If they do ship with bricks what do the higher end motorola's ship with? (Bricks = Charging adapter)
Too big!! Make phones small again
I agree, I hate how big phones are now a days, android needs to come out with a phone the same size as the iphone se
@@chrlyj8060I had the pixel 4a and that was a pretty good size but they just keep getting bigger and bigger.
LOL thanks for the great overview! 🙃
I'm sensing...some sarcasm? Not a fan of the video? 😅
I bought it for $10.88 on boost no shipping😅
great review - thanks - -- but still better than a Motorola G Play 2024 (which can't connect to 5G). What about a TCL 30 E. Thanks
I literally played cod competitively with this phone ( not max setting but still)
Aight you proved me wrong lol
Same
ELITE IV
I love the phone.
For the same price you can import Poco M6 Pro. It is better in every regard. (Like 120hz full HD AMOLED display for example) Motorola seriously needs to step up their game.
Can you compare the Motorola G Stylus 2024 5G with the Samsung A35 5G?
I think it would be a good comparison seeing the improvement both companies have made throughout the years.
i need this camparison
Bought this for an upgrade from the moto g 2022 for $10 plus $1 shipping. Score lol not expecting a amazing but just a phone that'll play videos while at work.
I just paid $58. How'd you get it for $10 lol
@@robertwilliams5618 promo. I got the g stylus for $40 😅
I'm disappointed about this video. You should run for president. Word Salad is not why I clicked on this. I don't want to know why Motorola is a bad company. I want to know how to use it.
I'm not a "How To" channel unless the video says "How To..." Here's a link to Motorola's user guide: en-us.support.motorola.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/156077/~/moto-g-5g---user-guide-%28html%29
anything is an upgrade from my 2020 moto e
Ooof - very true! This would be a great phone by comparison.
i just got one at DG where i live for $79 before tax prepaid verzion
Any wireless charging some people say yes n some sources say no
It's a huge market for those of us who don't ever come to grips with spending a cash car for a phone
I can do FPW gaming on MEDIUM- low graphics settings but with high refresh and the 120hz refresh rate is sick im ngl... higher than any other phone in the category and price.
LCD is bad, I have gotten use to it and I don't even notice anymore.
Battery rocks since I use it for work.
Speakers and entertainment on Motorola is 👑
I bought this phone recently and ummm it frickin over heats all the time
I think you might have a defective phone go get it replaced if you can. Mine doesn't do that at all and I've had it for two months now. Best of luck!
And lags
Boost mobile has it for $9.99
I paid 60.00 new in box unopened from ebay great price
Now, where is the A55 vs the A35, and the A35 vs the A54?! Those are what I'm waiting for.
In India for 150dollars u can buy Moto G34 5g with SD695 8GB of Ram 128GB storage only downside for some users is its HD+ 120hz display 20w charger in the box
Is the phone suppose to be curved? Mine is

how about phone call quality?????????????????????
