Yes it would have made the phone perfect in my eyes this year if they gave more software support with as good as this phone is this year with it being a major upgrade in almost every way in my opinion compared to previous years version of this phone. I would have liked for Motorola to give us 2 Android system updates and 4 years of bi-monthly or monthly security updates maybe even 5 years for Security updates. I would want more updates mainly for other buyers that purchase this phone as it doesn't really bother me that much as I definitely buy a new phone or phones more often than the average user. I will be absolutely fine with the updates they have promised. I will most likely buy another phone in 6 months when I see a new phone that I like and want to get to switch my sim between this phone and that one. I'll definitely keep this phone though but I am kinda a tech nerd lol I love getting new phones when I see something else I wanna use too. Even if I would refrain from buying a 2nd phone I wouldn't personally need more than what they are giving me as I will probably get next year's model when it releases as I have bought every model of the Moto G Stylus since LG quit not only making the LG Stylo line up but shut down their mobile department completely. I enjoy the stylus pen and there isn't many choices. The only other thing I would ask for is more colors and a updated stylus a bit more like the one in the ultra not exactly like it but a bit more features than just a metal stick type stylus pen. I love the cameras though and the screen and charging speeds.

It really checks the main boxes, stylus, 3.5 mm headphones jack, 8GB of ram, p-Oled screen, new software which is very smooth, and 120hz refresh rate. For 200 or less.
And you forgot most importantly, absolute shit backing. They should have kept with the plastic theme at the very least, if not metal or whatever else. The faux leather (and leather overall) is crap. Over time without a case it will wear out fast, dirty fast and can easily tear near the camera bump in particular. If you use a case with it, it becomes heavier and more shit and less slim - which is a selling feature isn't it? Slim with faux leather? They screwed up with that backing big time.
@@CinHalCedHerChance I still like this phone. I'm sorry you had this problem with your phone. It isn't a great thing to go through. That being said, I like the features that come with this phone. The only thing I would ask for that they could do more is maybe update the stylus just a bit instead of a metal stick and maybe one more Android operating system update but for me I guess it really doesn't matter as far as the Android updates as long as there's one because I do buy phones frequently. Other than that this phone is basically perfect in my opinion for me anyway maybe a choice of a couple more colors but I like the caramel latte that's the color I got
I agree I got mine for $39 as an upgrade for my main line I have an pixel fold but I enjoy the Motorola extras such as camera and flashlight with the gestures
The only reason (and it might be a really dumb one) i got the G Power 2024 vs the 2024 Stylus was the color! I hate both those colors! I can't believe they didn't offer it in BLACK or a darker color!
My moto edge 2023 just got android 14 last week. Gotta say the 2024 stylus 5g looks great. Had the 2023 stylus 5g but sold it along with a OnePlus Nord N30 5g.
Amazing review! This is what I've needed for some time now. I went from iPhone 14 Plus back to Android with the OnePlus 10T. Even with all that power I'm still unhappy. The phone overheats when dashing and I just ordered this Moto G Stylus and I can't wait!
Going on five years as a Moto fan, I dont want to upgrade from my second Moto, a One 5g ace which can't be updated to Android version 14 from 11. I love my One 5g ace as the basic phone that it is. Texting, pictures, and business calls are all I need. But now some of my business required apps are looking for Android14. It would be great if Motorola would at least give three years of updates, then I can justify the cost of a replacement. Thanks for the review of the G Stylus. It doesn't make me want to replace my current phone with another that may also fall to no updates available. My wife just got a new iPhone, her old iPhone will work the apps my Moto won't.
Any 120 hz OLED phone with dual speakers, that can run most apps at medium-base settings, with a micro SD slot and a headphone jack is a massive win to me for just a bit more than 300 usd; also motorola phones tend to go down in price very fast, so who knows how much it'll cost in 6 months/1 year (I can currently find a moto g stylus 2023 for around a 100 usd) Also, the stylus is practically a gift at that point, I was already being sold on it before I remembered it had one lol
I just upgraded to this phone a few days ago from the Moto G Stylus 4G (2022) which was manufactured January 5, 2023. I bought it April last year I believe. I only upgraded because it's been getting stuck in a boot loop, starting several months ago, until I hold the power button down and hard reset it. What it's doing, is for some reason, it's removing my fingerprints 1 by 1. The fingerprint sensor has malfunctioned. I'd have to re-add my fingerprints to it so I can unlock it with them. I even reset it to factory settings and it was okay for about a few weeks I'd say, then it started with the boot looping/deleting fingerprint nonsense. On one of my days off from work, I headed to Walmart a few days ago to look for a new phone to buy and as soon as I pulled in the parking lot, it started rebooting. I let it keep happening so I could show the guy in electronics. Suffice to say, I'm happy with this new phone so far. It's such a noticeable upgrade, namely the camera! The whole phone is way faster also.
I think 3 years of software support is enough if you buy it brand new.. probably can keep it for 4 years and most people upgrade their phones by then due to battery degradation. It would be nice to see more OS updates though. I own a Moto G Power 2024 and I love it. I like the LCD more than OLED honestly because I find it easier on my eyes, but these phones are extremely nice for the price.
Yeah, I'm weirded out by Motorola's reluctance to address software updates. With AI and other features hitting Samsung & Pixel, Motorola is about to be left far, far behind
Been with samsung for over a decade, this is my first Motorola, and I got it for $250 on prime day. So far, I've throughly enjoyed it. The MASSIVE expandable storage, headphone jack, and big saturated screen was the big sellers for me. As well as the premium look. 2 thumbs up for this phone 👍🏾👍🏾. Great review 👌🏾
I used to be loyal to Samsung until they started taking away the sd card slot. I am considering this phone, but I remember trying something else and being shocked with the stock google os. Does this phone use the stock google os?
I left apple for this phone. Im tired of the high prices and shitty quality. This phone is amazing! Great camera, 120 refresh rate is amazing and the quality is perfect. I love stylus phones
Just what I've been waiting for, a good midrange with a great display, long battery life, wireless charging, headphone jack, expandable memory, and a smooth operating/simple interface. Add a very reasonable price and it is a winner ❤
My Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 comes tomorrow. I got it strictly for the Snapdragon and HD gaming for PUBG. Im on a budget so. Heard this phone is among the best for budget phone/gaming and Ive also seen it in action with PUBG on HDR settings with ZERO lag. Cant wait. Conqueror status here I come!
One thing that i do want to bring attention to is that there IS something special about that little pen even if it's small, nothing else with that tiny footprint can actuate the screen the way the tip of that pen does even if it's a professionally made imitation, so the screen is either specially calibrated to respond to that small footprint or there's something similar to the S pen where there's some passive doohickey that allows the phone to detect the proximity and position of the tip.
I’m very much considering this phone and leaving my iPhone 13. I read a review on Best Buy where a user said this Moto G Stylus ran circles around his iPhone 13. I usually post a long reply but Wade, you totally nailed it here. Great review! The only downside is the lack of long term software support. Otherwise this is the best phone Motorola has made in many years. Keep up the great content!
Thats such cap, an iPhone 13 has the A15 which absolutely destroys this (Snapdragon 6 Gen 1) and the 13 will get more OS updates like you said. Motorola is trash when it comes to OS updates. The Stylus 2024 would be more nice as a side phone or maybe a budget phone but a downgrade if you already have an iPhone 13.
One of the things that turned me away from the older Motorola Stylus phones was the thickness of the Stylus. They were like holding a thin crochet hook! This iteration seems to have tried to remedy that by making it a tad wider, making it easier to hold on to. I have the S22 Ultra, and I don't use the tricks offered for Samsung's Stylus. Because I only use it for scrolling, typing, and keeping my calendar, the Motorola sounds more practical. However, the lack of support concerns me. I suppose that I can upgrade every year or so, but that will get expensive fast! Going to have to take a longer, harder look at this one.
My phone since 1 month and all is good i returned Samsung A35 to Samsung after 10 days cause it's laggy in multi apps menu and for the same price this phone better , screen more sharp + max brightness and 256go vs 128go and more rams. Price vs quality i can say 9/10 !
I've had the A35 for less than a month and the battery life is not good, do my plan may e to return it and purchase this phone, also. Is the battery life on it pretty good?
@@Susan-nb3ep Yes battery life is better by far and the screen outside is more easy to read ! Honesly the only think A35 make batter is about software updates over the years but i can say go for it for the G stylus 2024 5G! 👍
I love mine. I was considering the edge 2024 but no sd card memory expansion made me nervous as I love having the expandable memory. Plus I like the stylus pen
@@Mandaxmaee I saw that definitely a bummer for the edge 2024, so this is the next best because it has the sdcard many love. still using a moto g100 didn't upgrade yet missed out on the fusion
just bought this. I bought most moto stylus phones and yet my favorite one is still the 2020 with 2022 being the absolute worst. 2023 amazing and upgrading now because I accidently broke my 2023. Only thing I dont like is the fingerprint sensor being on the screen. I still prefer the sensor being in the back where the Motorola logo is.
Even if you necessarily want a smartphone with a built-in pencil, personally, I think that a S22 Ultra 2nd hand, refurbished or open box is a much better deal 🤷🏽♂️
Just got two for my partner and I for 250 a pop. We are coming from a pair of OnePlus 9 pros, both having battery degradation issues. Compared to the OnePlus, this is not a downgrade in my eyes. The camera is better in most scenarios except for night shots which the OnePlus excelled in. The screen is clear, and brighter than the old phones. The speakers/overall sound quality is much better, the battery is better, the storage is identical, with the big perk of expandable storage. It has the 3.5 mm headphone jack which i have already used. This phone literally feels like an anomaly. It has the overall basic quality of my old phone, which near 1000 new. Arguably the moto is better due to the expandable storage and headphone jack alone. I'm beyond impressed by what I'm seeing here. What appealed to me about OnePlus was it's flagship killer/budget prowess that came with the 6T. OnePlus has been losing that a bit as their prices have kept creeping up. I got my 9 pro 1 generation old, brand new for 599. It felt like a good deal at the time. But now with Motorola popping up heavily in the last couple years with good spec'd budget devices, i had to give it a shot. Im glad i did, the pros far outweigh the cons. I can't believe my old phone was a pro phone 3 years ago. Because this thing meets or exceeds what my OnePlus could do. I'm a very satisfied customer 🙏
One thing I have noticed after getting a G power 2024. Is that the videos are terrible. Even at 60fps settings it'll stutter and lag and will just be choppy. I don't get it. Taking videos is a basic function yet no Motorola not even their edge products can take smooth videos. It's sad that my 2010 Galaxy s and 2013 iPhone 5c take more smooth footage than this phone. Motorola needs to do something about it. no other phone in this price range struggles with video
Just bought this last night from cricket for about $130 (167sh after tax) and honestly coming from someone who broke their 13 Pro, this phone gets the job done so far. Been loving it as my budget friendly beast
Is there any way to ensure SIM compatibility? I want to buy and take this back to India but don't want to waste money if it cannot support Indian carriers
I just got this phone through MetroPCS and I love it I got it for a hundred bucks and everything about it is awesome I think the sides are metal though I really do the Chrome I swear it's metal but anyways I love it it's my favorite Moto and I've had quite a few
Maybe next year it could get a 68W moto fast charging, and unless they intend on adding IP68 rating, removeable batteries. Additionally the chipset is the same speed as the apple A11 from the Iphone 8 in 2017.
Yeah, Motorola is about to be way behind the software curve with everyone pushing AI and other features. I think software will be the focus over hardware the next 2-3 years
A lot of the apps like games were put on by Google, not Microsoft.when I signed in to Google on my s24, Google installed a lot of the same apps on my phone.

It really checks the main boxes, stylus, 3.5 mm headphones jack, 8GB of ram, p-Oled screen, new software which is very smooth, and 120hz refresh rate. For 200 or less.
That's where I'm at. I don't really care about cameras
Vegan leather is pleather. It's been around since the 70's. The fact that they have changed the technology a little doesn't change what it is. But, as I said earlier, I still like this device.
@@CinHalCedHerChanceNot big time. Not everyone like you disagrees. I understand that we can all have our opinions
Does it still do gestures, like 2 shakes for flashlight?
I've Had Mines For Almost 90 Days... This Is The Moto I Was Waiting For I Don't Care About The One Year Update Im Truly Happy With My Phone They Got My Vote Well Played Motorola WELL PLAYED....
I wish Motorola would make a flagship variant of this phone. It would give Samsung a run for their money.
Agreed and launch it in the fall since the ultra is launched at the beginning of the year.
And I wish that they would release their edge plus for 2024, why couldn't they just release them both at the same time?
Yes pls an Edge Stylus or something would sell really well
@TechDaily can I use my samsung watch with this phone? I will be upgrading soon. Please answer
The Motorola edge plus 2022 is stylus supported. You have to buy the stylus with the case separate.
Does it have a smart select like the note where you can extract the text from a sentence or choose what you want to copy on the screen?
The only reason (and it might be a really dumb one) i got the G Power 2024 vs the 2024 Stylus was the color! I hate both those colors! I can't believe they didn't offer it in BLACK or a darker color!
I mean, normally you put a case on a phone, so the color of the back really doesn't matter
My moto edge 2023 just got android 14 last week. Gotta say the 2024 stylus 5g looks great. Had the 2023 stylus 5g but sold it along with a OnePlus Nord N30 5g.
I Came From The N30 Myself Solid Phone But The Moto Stylus 5g 2024 Is Just Overall Better
Android 14 was available on my (non motorola) phone right when I got it in December 2023.
Amazing review! This is what I've needed for some time now. I went from iPhone 14 Plus back to Android with the OnePlus 10T. Even with all that power I'm still unhappy. The phone overheats when dashing and I just ordered this Moto G Stylus and I can't wait!
This is the best budget phone I ever purchased this is worth more than the price
I bought 3 of em, 115 dollars each one(on sale). So many improvements, it s a really good phone at a really low price
Where did you buy or get it for that price???
@@ivanm10 google fi, there was a promotion for 3-4 days i believe
If they did it's probably the downgraded version with less ram and storage. If not then that's the steal of a lifetime@@ivanm10
I just got the same phone 3 days ago and I love it ❤. But is it water proof????
Any 120 hz OLED phone with dual speakers, that can run most apps at medium-base settings, with a micro SD slot and a headphone jack is a massive win to me for just a bit more than 300 usd; also motorola phones tend to go down in price very fast, so who knows how much it'll cost in 6 months/1 year (I can currently find a moto g stylus 2023 for around a 100 usd)
Also, the stylus is practically a gift at that point, I was already being sold on it before I remembered it had one lol
I gifted 3 to friends...they loved it...stylus is a plus...😊
That's so kind of you 😊 Great friend!
motorolla doesnt seem to realize they are one decision away from being the low - mid range king and thats updates
Dont forgot you the stylus has somewhat of a pen tip that you can click when your bored 😂
It's crazy to me seeing prices like this. I can get this phone for $40 through boost
@ghouliboost is horrible shgam3r508
Does it get hot while gaming or shut the game down randomly? That was my issue with the 2023 version
I like that phone! 😊❤it reminds me of a Samsung 😊
I would like a higher end device, but without expandable memory, no way.
Great phone great cameras too
I’m very much considering this phone and leaving my iPhone 13.
Ordered mine today. Leaving my 13 pro behind lol.
@@edg3y18 What do you mean cap? What part?
@@RepentAndBelieve43 OP's part about the Best Buy reviewer saying the Stylus ran circles around an iPhone 13
@@edg3y18 Ah. I see.
@@guillaume-s2o Thanks for the info!
I really wish I had one of these phones, it's that awesome.
i got it for just over $100 after taxes and its great. it is a great functional phone that runs android, good job Motorola.
Great review. Thanks.
Is it only available in the US? Because it's been 2 months since its release in May, and I still haven't seen this model anywhere in Bangladesh
I thought the side band was real metal like a iphone and not plastic. That's a big turn off
I Have The Motorola Edge Plus (2023) & Edge (2024) & This One Definitely Is Catching My Eyes 🤩📱
I love mine. I was considering the edge 2024 but no sd card memory expansion made me nervous as I love having the expandable memory. Plus I like the stylus pen
@@Mandaxmaee I saw that definitely a bummer for the edge 2024, so this is the next best because it has the sdcard many love. still using a moto g100 didn't upgrade yet missed out on the fusion
very good phone.. would be EXC if moto updated OS 2 times at least
How is the camera?
The only thing that kills this phone is the lack of software updates it will get
just bought this.
Motorola should make a flip phone with a stylus build in, budget phone $800.00
Even if you necessarily want a smartphone with a built-in pencil, personally, I think that a S22 Ultra 2nd hand, refurbished or open box is a much better deal 🤷🏽♂️
crummy battery tho. never got more than 4hr sot
Not when I can get this for $40
Headphone jack
Should we care about DAC if we are already getting a 3.5mm jack in a phone.. please reply..
Find an LG V60 or G8.
Owned the 2022, 2023, and now the 2024. By far the best
Currently watchint this video on this exact phone! I absolutely love it, i had a iphone 12 pro max, and for me this is better by a lot!
I got mine and already I love been a styles user for yrs had the moto styles G5 plus in burgundy
What about the edge plus 2023 it's 500 bucks with 512gb and snapdragon gen2
its such a good phone even now in aug 2024. i have it and cant find a fault other than no aod
The Edge Plus 2023 is definitely the best phone from Motorola.
Yes I'm definitely enjoying it I got it today I had the Motorola edge 2024 I didn't really like that so I got this today so far good 👍
My old stylus 5g 22 can still handle more than I need, and that's split screen most of the time

nice review. pls whats the name of the shooting classic game shown at the beginning of the video? at 27 sec time frame
does Motorola stylus 5G 2024 have 3.5 to usb c audio
You should try the Motorola Edge 50, its a flawless phone.
Can you turn off the 5G feature and only use 4G LTE?
I really love this phone tbh. It really is bomb. But they need to update the software longer as well as add Bluetooth to the pen.
it will work in Europe?
Awesome phone
Is this phone waterproof? And does it support esim?
Water resistant. No ESIM.
I have moto edge plus 2023 but it's been lagging bad battery isn't lasting
Just bought this last night from cricket for about $130 (167sh after tax) and honestly coming from someone who broke their 13 Pro, this phone gets the job done so far. Been loving it as my budget friendly beast
That's a great deal! 💸
Is it better than the 13 pro or does it at least feel like not a downgrade?
I have an 11 pro and might get this or the s22u.

The lack of software update support is why I stopped using Motorola and went with Samsung.

I just got this phone through MetroPCS and I love it I got it for a hundred bucks and everything about it is awesome I think the sides are metal though I really do the Chrome I swear it's metal but anyways I love it it's my favorite Moto and I've had quite a few
Love it!! The Scarlet one.
Maybe next year it could get a 68W moto fast charging, and unless they intend on adding IP68 rating, removeable batteries.
Additionally the chipset is the same speed as the apple A11 from the Iphone 8 in 2017.
It is a great phone! I love it.
Motorola phone is alright, the downside is the crappy software support.
After the pO.s Stylo 6 this is AMAZING
Which budget phone would you suggest this phone moto stylus or Samsung a15 5g???
I have both and the moto g stylus hands down.
Moto stylus all the wayy
Shame they went with the under screen fp sensor. I really liked the power button fp sensor on the 2023 model.

Do moto give 3 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates?
Don't know if I should get one to upgrade my note 10 plus. A few more spen features from Motorola would of been nice.
That's definitely like going from a Samsung flagship to a mid range phone
I def won't be buying any phones under any circumstances or any price until they give at least 3 OS updates. If this one had 4 OS updates I would have went with this instead of the 8a. I would rather have more updates than that cheap pen.
