As someone that has own multiple phones from back in 1998 my first cell phone for the price point they got this at I cannot complain for brand name I understand you can get off brands that have better specs but I also got this as a warranty insurance claim from t mobile since my upgrade is only a few months away play I ended up just paying off the rest of the device gave me a extra $10 add the 5G 2022 bulging battery is why I have the new one it does have ram Bost to 8 gb from 4 in settings

for that type of spec and its free , it's not bad. You forger to count the Moto Razr+ , that is the top of the line . I am still using my Moto G Stylus 2021
I have this phone got it after my iphone 15 was stolen I just stopped caring I paid 1500 dollars for that phone just foe it to be gone in a second this moto is doing me good!

I've had this phone for 3 months now. It's still very fast and has not lagged or acted up. The photos are good in my opinion. Especially the selfie camera. I love the speakers and headphones jack. The speakers are just like the iPhone speakers. 🙂 My only downside is I can't find cute Phone cases that don't look tacky. 😭
Bruh I got the phone for ten bones, Nothing wrong with this phone, turn the dev options on and tweak the phone up from the sluggish ui and when loaded down with apps pix and everything else, it doesn't miss a beat. Then again I'm not one of those people who needs my phone on me at all times and gets anxiety when someone doesn't return a message or call right away. Also not sure what this guy is on about with the charging mine does rapid charging with the provided cable in about 35 minutes from 29 percent battery.

Got this one recently. I specifically opted for this one because I was just looking for a simple phone, but most dumb phones cost more than this one or had a waitlist. I had a flip phone recently and it was fun but it didn’t have the two things besides calling and texting, that I personally need, music and maps. That’s all I really need a phone for so I’m pretty satisfied with it. No one really needs the latest techy features, display, the best camera. This is not the phone for digital maximalists. Maybe I’ll come back when it dies to let y’all know how long it lasted!
Mine works just fine. My friends have $1000 phones which don't seem much different! I use mine for calls, texts, photos, and occasional app usage like Facebook and RUclips. Never have any issues. I even use Microsoft.
Honestly for the price Moto is the best choice unless you buy off brand phones. Samsung makes good budget phones too and have the best screens better cameras and software support.

I bought the moto g power 24 and love it. 1. Great screen at all angles. 2. Great sound. 3. Fast enough as I unloaded apps I didn't want. 4. I'm getting Great pictures. Surprised because reviewers said bad. 5. Great, amazing features for $79 at Walmart. 6. I would never spend money on an iPhone or expensive Samsung. Especially going into bad economy.
I paid $200 no contract. I can see the screen fine even at an angle so not sure why reviewers say it's hard to see at angles. That being said nobody looks at the phone at an angle. The camera of course can't compare to iPhone or Pixel and I think the low budget Samsung has better cameras but if all you do is share on Instagram and everyone looks on a tiny phone screen for barely a second then it really doesn't matter. For the price no complaints. Samsung also makes a great budget phone the A15 and for a bit more the A35 is a winner.
I got this phone not days ago! Definitely double the size of the S22 I had. Does take some getting use to! did check the specs & not the best with 4GB ram but I needed something I could use while not spending almost $300/mo on a phone and plan that AT&T scammed me out of!!! got this phone from US cellular... They should make their Moto G 5g a compact phone, in the 5" to 5.5" range, that'd set it apart. They can keep the 720 screen and it'd look better on the smaller size.
For a budget phone this phone is excellent I payed $80 dollars I love the dual speakers the texture of the back of the phone and the specs are awesome but my favorite option is the way you can shut the phone off by touching the screen shut off button no more holding 2 fingers on the side buttons to shut off awesome keep up the great content thanks pal 👍

I just bought one of these, and quite frankly, it does everything I want it to, and does it well. Paid $180 Cdn. at Costco. One thing it doesn't have is a charger, which I don't understand. My old Moto G6 Play came with a charger. So why doesn't Motorola supply a charger with it? I was led to understand that this Moto G 5G 2024 is wireless charger capable, which would be nice for sure....but is it capable? I can't find any information on this at all, even on the motorola web site!
you right... now I'm checking my warranty, before this I had the before Motorola model and I was charging with that, so, now my phone don't charge 100% even keeping charging all night, the guy told me that I have to use a specific charger..

This motor 2024 5g gets an aA from me because it plays my games like codm seamlessly and it is capable of using the high quality graphics option. My galaxy a15 couldn't do that

America simply doesn't have great budget phone options tbh. Here in India we get phones like Poco M6 Pro, Realme Narzo 70 Pro snd Samsung f15 which are pretty great budget options.
I want this phone because I have PWM sensitivity and this has an LCD and not an OLED that gives me headaches and strains my eyes. I can't stand my iphone 13 once I upgraded from an 8+. So it's not just the price to me, but a display my eyes can tolerate.

The G Play is an amazing phone. I tested it for 4 days and it truly felt snappier than my Pixel 4a. BUT i did want the specs of my new phone to at least meet the 4a, so I went with the G Power.
I just bought the Moto g 5G and I'm not too too picky with phones, but im just really pissed I bought this over the stylus 5G 24 because I pretty much downgraded from the previous phone I had, the stylus 5G 2023

I am still using the Moto g stylus 2021 , I like the style that the front cam is on the side, not in the middle where you put your ear on , I read Moto One Hyper is coming back in 2025 ? I love the style on that phone .
I have the Moto G 5g but I don't have a 5G plan only LTE and the 5G on the notification turn into 4G LTE I wonder if I get a plan that has 5G will it go to 5G? I don't know.
Rocking a Moto G stylus 5G '23 Solid phone for $10 CodM pro w the snapdragon 6 Gen 1 lol does have its imperfections crashes from time to time tho NGL after heavy gaming but solid overall survived many waist drops and even being thrown some water Not submerged but is resistant 4K recording At 30 fps n many more features alot of value for the price i paid
Fantastic, I completely agree as someone upgrading to the Moto edge 40 neo from previously owing the first 2 generations of the moto g powers. Moto G Power is moto's best value for money and is one I highly recommend if you're on a budget. However, currently I am saving up for a Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Hmm, wish I could find this phone for $10.. Boost has it for $10 IF you get a $60/month plan which no, I'm not doing.. the only cheap phones are returned ones and some are still high at $60.. I might just pay the extra $5/month and pay off the phone in 36 months and at least it's not paying a bunch of interest...
For some reason Motorola released a phone in 2022, and it was pretty good and really inexpensive.....the moto edge 2022, i got one for about 140. Like im watching this on it right now....i dont daily drive it, but its a back up. And at home, I have a stack of phones on WiFi that are all over the place.... Great display, nice camera, load speaker, thin phone. But, when you push it, the deminsity 1050, is no snapdragon.....and it never got Android 14.
I used to buy each years flagship phones but because of my job ive broken all of them and got to a point that i started buying these cheap phones you can get these for 50 prepaid and just pop in my sim and igs saved my ass many times , break a phone and go to walmart and buy one for 50 pop my sim and back to work.
I just got the Motorola edge 2024 and let me tell you I am in love with it. I had the stylus 2023 and was gonna get the stylus 2024 but the edge was cheaper and I like edge phones. The screen is so beautiful and the battery is insanely good. It's quick and does what I need it to do.
I have the Moto g5 I do like the phone, but this phone is perfect if you don’t have money to spend or want to try a different phone! I used iPhone forever but I didn’t want to spend a lot on a new phone if I didn’t like it after having apple forever lol, now I am deciding from rather razr plus or flip 6! Only thing I am not a fan of for the Moto g5 i find it takes a long time to charge the battery, I need to switch to airplane mode to charge it a bit faster lol 😂
The moto g power 5g 2024 is better got it from straight talk .i got the moto g 5g from Metro its terrible .it kept lagging get hot pretty quickly also wasn't bright enough for outdoors
I don’t know what most Android OEMs are doing in their budget phone lineups. Motorola is a brand I love but their budget lineup is just as bad as Samsung’s. My brother has the Moto G Play 2024 and while it’s excellent on battery life and performance, there’s a weird garbled effect on calls. He can hear me fine but his voice is distorted and jumbled. I had the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 and while I loved that phone, it had issues with calls to the ear. I couldn’t hear others and they often couldn’t hear me. That’s a big deal because I need the phone part of smartphone to function properly. Which is why I’m currently using an iPhone 13, it isn’t as nice as Android on customization and being fun to use but on calls it works flawlessly.
I have the version of this phone from 2 years ago, Moto G 5g (2022)...just due to my bad experience, with the battery especially, I wouldn't recommend it since I don't trust the batteries they put in that. If anyone has any version that works perfectly, but has a spicy pillow beginning to form (even with regular usage), please let me know.
Cricket wireless has this phone. I'm thinking about replacing my replacement phone my Galaxy A54 5G with either the Galaxy A35 5G or Galaxy A25 5G or Galaxy A16 when it comes out or Motorola G Power 5G 2024 or Motorola G 5G 2024 or Motorola Stylus 5G 2024. Which is a good one to get I leaning toward the g power or stylus or a35 5g or a25 5g or when the a16 comes out, idk about getting the motorola g 5g 2024. I mean the motorola g 5g 2024 seems like its a decent phone for the price. its rumored the galaxy a16 is rumored to have a mediatek demensity 6300 chipset. I've used a G power I used the motorola g7 power when my carrier cricket wireless had it on their website i bought it off there. The Motorola G7 Power when I had it was verily decent when I had it and used it.
Most of the phones you mentioned would be a step back, or a very small incremental change from the A54, maybe like an A36 when that comes out could potentially be better

From my experience it's because I prefer the designs of the apps and widgets by far on Motorola than Galaxy. I had galaxy for years but because my phone was going out I had too get a moto from boost. Best phone ever! I can't stand galaxy anymore. And I love that moto doesn't have a whole lot of updates like galaxy has, once I learn something I want it to stay the same and it really upsets me when it changes. Thankfully the change to the motor was a good thing because I was able to understand my phone better. Plus if everyone liked what you liked it would always be sold out.

I bought this phone, and it is likely the worst one I have ever owned. My pixel 6 broke of warranty and I needed a phone fast. Wort mistake ever. I'm actually switching back to a pixel this week. Yes I know comparing a pixel and moto g 2024 is not a fair fight but I was hoping to not pay for a 500 to 600. This phone can't even handle basic functionality.

I bought it at Target just about three weeks ago for $60 before tax. My main phone is a Galaxy A21s. So why the purchase? Simple, it's not a replacement rather it's a replacement for my SanDisk MP3 player which got rained on a month ago because I got caught doing yard work. R.I.P. that little thing lasted six years. I've been looking everywhere online and in person to buy one NEW not refurbished and it seems times have changed, no company really makes them anymore, their not vintage as CD players or cassette players. So long story short I didn't want to spend more than $70USD on a phone which is overkill for just music listening and this Moto G 5G is perfect enough for that and using it for RUclips downloads since I have premium. Even after bloatware I'm over 100GB with over 4K songs on my 32GB MC inserted. After almost a few weeks in, battery is great, lasts over day and a half, and for my music player its a good Jack of all trades. A perfect backup to your main phone this Moto G 5G is...
that 720p screen isn't very good, but at least it doesn't have a crappy mediatek chip. The price is really good if you're getting a carrier locked prepaid phone, such as Cricket or AT&T...where you can get one out the door for under $60
Thanks for the review, wish I would have seen it a year ago. This is the worst Moto g 5g I've ever used. My 2022 and prior performed way faster and could multitask with no problem. This one seems to reload apps when switching between them. 5 GHz wifi, nope. Liklely changing vendors soon. Sad, since I have sworn by Moto for years.
Got this free as well its a total rip off , no one should pay for these, the protectors even cover the light flash, and the phone only has cable usb c to usb c. No outlet. Phone is pathetic state of the art display.

Why compare a 2024 phone to a 3 year old phone? That's like comparing the Samsung A15 5G to a moto g play from 2021? Asinine comparison either way. Do you even understand how huge a 3 year gap is in the mobile space in terms of tech and improvements?
They should make their Moto G 5g a compact phone, in the 5" to 5.5" range, that'd set it apart. They can keep the 720 screen and it'd look better on the smaller size.
For a budget phone this phone is excellent I payed $80 dollars I love the dual speakers the texture of the back of the phone and the specs are awesome but my favorite option is the way you can shut the phone off by touching the screen shut off button no more holding 2 fingers on the side buttons to shut off awesome keep up the great content thanks pal 👍

I just bought one of these, and quite frankly, it does everything I want it to, and does it well. Paid $180 Cdn. at Costco. One thing it doesn't have is a charger, which I don't understand. My old Moto G6 Play came with a charger. So why doesn't Motorola supply a charger with it? I was led to understand that this Moto G 5G 2024 is wireless charger capable, which would be nice for sure....but is it capable? I can't find any information on this at all, even on the motorola web site!
you right... now I'm checking my warranty, before this I had the before Motorola model and I was charging with that, so, now my phone don't charge 100% even keeping charging all night, the guy told me that I have to use a specific charger..

This motor 2024 5g gets an aA from me because it plays my games like codm seamlessly and it is capable of using the high quality graphics option. My galaxy a15 couldn't do that
Google Fi is 59.99 for the Moto G 5G. I only use my phone for calls and text messages. So this is perfect. My last phone was $1600, and never again.

America simply doesn't have great budget phone options tbh. Here in India we get phones like Poco M6 Pro, Realme Narzo 70 Pro snd Samsung f15 which are pretty great budget options.
I want this phone because I have PWM sensitivity and this has an LCD and not an OLED that gives me headaches and strains my eyes. I can't stand my iphone 13 once I upgraded from an 8+. So it's not just the price to me, but a display my eyes can tolerate.
I just got the G5G 2024 from my provider at no cost and it's a great phone for me. If I break the screen or drop it like I usually do, no loss!
Is this better than the note 10? The 10 is already heating up for me like crazy and the battery drain is insane. I only have about 400 charge cycles on it.

The G Play is an amazing phone. I tested it for 4 days and it truly felt snappier than my Pixel 4a. BUT i did want the specs of my new phone to at least meet the 4a, so I went with the G Power.

Fantastic, I completely agree as someone upgrading to the Moto edge 40 neo from previously owing the first 2 generations of the moto g powers. Moto G Power is moto's best value for money and is one I highly recommend if you're on a budget. However, currently I am saving up for a Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

For some reason Motorola released a phone in 2022, and it was pretty good and really inexpensive.....the moto edge 2022, i got one for about 140. Like im watching this on it right now....i dont daily drive it, but its a back up. And at home, I have a stack of phones on WiFi that are all over the place.... Great display, nice camera, load speaker, thin phone. But, when you push it, the deminsity 1050, is no snapdragon.....and it never got Android 14.

I find a 720p screen on a 6.5 inch screen is fine. 270ppi is completely fine as long as you are not holding the phone 3 inches from your face.

I just got the Motorola edge 2024 and let me tell you I am in love with it. I had the stylus 2023 and was gonna get the stylus 2024 but the edge was cheaper and I like edge phones. The screen is so beautiful and the battery is insanely good. It's quick and does what I need it to do.

I have the Moto g5 I do like the phone, but this phone is perfect if you don’t have money to spend or want to try a different phone! I used iPhone forever but I didn’t want to spend a lot on a new phone if I didn’t like it after having apple forever lol, now I am deciding from rather razr plus or flip 6! Only thing I am not a fan of for the Moto g5 i find it takes a long time to charge the battery, I need to switch to airplane mode to charge it a bit faster lol 😂
The moto g power 5g 2024 is better got it from straight talk .i got the moto g 5g from Metro its terrible .it kept lagging get hot pretty quickly also wasn't bright enough for outdoors
I don’t know what most Android OEMs are doing in their budget phone lineups. Motorola is a brand I love but their budget lineup is just as bad as Samsung’s. My brother has the Moto G Play 2024 and while it’s excellent on battery life and performance, there’s a weird garbled effect on calls. He can hear me fine but his voice is distorted and jumbled. I had the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 and while I loved that phone, it had issues with calls to the ear. I couldn’t hear others and they often couldn’t hear me. That’s a big deal because I need the phone part of smartphone to function properly. Which is why I’m currently using an iPhone 13, it isn’t as nice as Android on customization and being fun to use but on calls it works flawlessly.

I have the version of this phone from 2 years ago, Moto G 5g (2022)...just due to my bad experience, with the battery especially, I wouldn't recommend it since I don't trust the batteries they put in that. If anyone has any version that works perfectly, but has a spicy pillow beginning to form (even with regular usage), please let me know.
Cricket wireless has this phone. I'm thinking about replacing my replacement phone my Galaxy A54 5G with either the Galaxy A35 5G or Galaxy A25 5G or Galaxy A16 when it comes out or Motorola G Power 5G 2024 or Motorola G 5G 2024 or Motorola Stylus 5G 2024. Which is a good one to get I leaning toward the g power or stylus or a35 5g or a25 5g or when the a16 comes out, idk about getting the motorola g 5g 2024. I mean the motorola g 5g 2024 seems like its a decent phone for the price. its rumored the galaxy a16 is rumored to have a mediatek demensity 6300 chipset. I've used a G power I used the motorola g7 power when my carrier cricket wireless had it on their website i bought it off there. The Motorola G7 Power when I had it was verily decent when I had it and used it.
Most of the phones you mentioned would be a step back, or a very small incremental change from the A54, maybe like an A36 when that comes out could potentially be better

From my experience it's because I prefer the designs of the apps and widgets by far on Motorola than Galaxy. I had galaxy for years but because my phone was going out I had too get a moto from boost. Best phone ever! I can't stand galaxy anymore. And I love that moto doesn't have a whole lot of updates like galaxy has, once I learn something I want it to stay the same and it really upsets me when it changes. Thankfully the change to the motor was a good thing because I was able to understand my phone better.
Plus if everyone liked what you liked it would always be sold out.

I can tell you right now I'm only in the beginning of the video but I will tell you I got the Moto g 5G on the 15th of this month it hasn't even been a month since I've owned it and this is supposedly an upgrade from a phone that was in Android that was discontinued without my knowledge.. it has internet issues it has microphone issues I mean I cannot wait to just I will I will take my own money out of my pocket at this point because I cannot return it's a part of the policy of my cell phone carrier I cannot return this phone because it was an upgrade I will never get a Motorola again this is the first and the last time I will ever get it
I bought this phone, and it is likely the worst one I have ever owned. My pixel 6 broke of warranty and I needed a phone fast. Wort mistake ever. I'm actually switching back to a pixel this week. Yes I know comparing a pixel and moto g 2024 is not a fair fight but I was hoping to not pay for a 500 to 600. This phone can't even handle basic functionality.
This phone is the definition of “Eh” if it’s the only free option sure, but if you’re purchasing one the power 5G or evenbetter the Stylus (a decent bit more) is a way better option for a little bit more money

Simple, it's not a replacement rather it's a replacement for my SanDisk MP3 player which got rained on a month ago because I got caught doing yard work. R.I.P. that little thing lasted six years.
I've been looking everywhere online and in person to buy one NEW not refurbished and it seems times have changed, no company really makes them anymore, their not vintage as CD players or cassette players.
So long story short I didn't want to spend more than $70USD on a phone which is overkill for just music listening and this Moto G 5G is perfect enough for that and using it for RUclips downloads since I have premium. Even after bloatware I'm over 100GB with over 4K songs on my 32GB MC inserted.
After almost a few weeks in, battery is great, lasts over day and a half, and for my music player its a good Jack of all trades.
A perfect backup to your main phone this Moto G 5G is...
that 720p screen isn't very good, but at least it doesn't have a crappy mediatek chip. The price is really good if you're getting a carrier locked prepaid phone, such as Cricket or AT&T...where you can get one out the door for under $60
Thanks for the review, wish I would have seen it a year ago. This is the worst Moto g 5g I've ever used. My 2022 and prior performed way faster and could multitask with no problem. This one seems to reload apps when switching between them. 5 GHz wifi, nope. Liklely changing vendors soon. Sad, since I have sworn by Moto for years.
I think the higher-tier Motos are a better option this year, but perhaps a Samsung A Series phone would be better for your needs?
