To be honest, a lot of major fashion publications only recently started to cover the BET red carpet in these past few years. Probably because many of them don't know our stars (and don't feel a need to). I think you should definitely continue to cover it and other diverse awards shows. Fashion is fashion. Continue to do your due diligence and research, and I think you'll be a-okay!

Just wanted to clear up any confusion about the Lil Nas X situation. Industry Baby wasn’t nominated for anything this year, but Nas was upset that he got zero nominations when that was one of the biggest songs and he had one of the biggest albums of the year. Plus people thought it was weird that Jack got nominated for best male rapper and Nas and Industry Baby got nothing when that is Jack’s biggest song to date. And on top of that Nas said that last year he had to assure BET he wasn’t satanic so that they would let him perform

Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, YSL, Balenciaga, Vionnet, Madame Gres, Halston, CHARLES FREDERICK WORTH, the 1st fashion designer in history. Fashion happens in all races and cultures. Traditional dress going back millennia, was created by people of many different races. If the centre was sequined it would make her look like a blob, but the dude sequins shaped like an hour glass was contouring her body giving her more of an exaggerated shape illusion. I see you didn't dare touch Summer Walker's ALMOST outfit. I don't know if there was enough fabric there to comment on. I'm not prude but WOW. JUST WOW.

HILARIOUS that you chose to put Rick Ross and Saucy Santana next to each other when the internet jokes that they're the same person.

Janelle was the best dressed with that Cavalli dress, I loved the top and how the skirt hooked on to it. Mixing hard and soft elements perfectly. Kanye worst dressed. Lazy, uninspired and trying to hide himself. Awful.

No Luke, pls don’t stop reviewing the awards shows for POC! I think as long as you take the time to research how the culture might impact the style it’s great. I’m Black and really love that you have reviewed the BET awards since I started watching your videos a year or 2 ago.

I thought Santana’s was very intriguing! Like, reflective of his flamboyance with the boots, but also very classic and sophisticated with the houndstooth blazer dress! I also like seeing him in green since he usually wears pink (which he also looks great in)!

I very much appreciate your balanced analysis and view on outfits. I find myself immediately guessing whether we would agree or not and most of the time we agree. We share gut instinct. But you have vast knowledge and I appreciate being your student

I appreciate the sensitivity but I have seen the most gorgeous pieces on women of color on the red carpet and I don't see as much footage. I feel like there are so many cool and gorgeous fashion pieces that I've missed. I want to see the glory! Regardless of color! This is art and fashion, dammit! More exposure, please! A great example is the first photo comparison - the pale skin on the model didn't do justice to the color, and it was so well fitted and complimented the first celebrity perfectly.
