Thank you for these videos, they are very clear and informative. I'm wondering (it seems silly to ask) but when you say 120 pages I'm understanding this to be 60 physical pages printed front and back.
HI!! 🎯🎯🎯PLEASE DO THE SAME IN InD. YOU INSPIRED ME SO MUCH 😊 I REALLY TRUST IN YOUR QUALITY TO MAKE THE JOURNALS, NOTEBOOKS, AND YOUR STEP BY STEP VIDEOS. CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you, Paul. Your tutorials are incredibly helpful! There's one thing I would like to ask you: after setting up that vertical line, should I alternate its position from left to right when creating even and odd pages? Same thing for those date fields on top of journal pages. Thanks in advance, and cheers from Canada.
I was having trouble just making the line. Those clicks are very important and I had missed them since I was a noob when you mentioned your clicks on your video. I have now learned about the anchor points.. and can make the line. But I select the line and no matter what I do I cannot change the color. it is awfully complicated
nevermind, it was the file i created, it was bugged.. CS remote helped me and it was just a bad file.. when I created a new file everything worked smoothly
Thanks for your help. After clicking create, my screen has little grey square and green outline for page dimensions. How do I go to a white page and grey background? I am not sure what I did for my screen to look like that. Thanks for your help.
Instead of copying everything to Keynote, couldn’t you just make 120 artboards (create another AI file, then copy and paste the original artboard)then save as a pdf?
You don't. I just find the rows and columns of artboards you have to create in Illustartor a pain to work with. I find this way works faster and more likely to be error free.
omg thank you so so much! you are literally a life saver
Thank you so much for this video. You reminded me of a tool I already learned about, that I wasn't using to its full potential. Much appreciated.
You're welcome. 👍
Thanks Paul :) greetings from Turkey .
You're welcome. 👍 And welcome from Turkey!
Thanks for this great tutorial. So easy to follow. I always struggle with illustrator and you've made it simple
You’re welcome. Glad you found it helpful.
You're the man Paul. Thanks for the videos. You get me started on my Low Content Books

Thanks for your help. Question: After I set up the dimensions
Thank you for these videos, they are very clear and informative. I'm wondering (it seems silly to ask) but when you say 120 pages I'm understanding this to be 60 physical pages printed front and back.
That’s correct. 60 sheets of paper.

Yes, you would for a vertical margin line. And also yes for the date.
@@paulmarles Thank you, Paul!
Do I need to create the square in order to transfer the lined document from Illustrator to InDesign? Thank you for all the good videos!
Maybe not if going to indesign. Try it and see what happens.
Thank you!!!
You’re welcome.
And the cover for that book please. Thanks a lot

Captain any idea how to add feint words on a page eg some famous quotations , say bottom right of page - thanks in advance .
Why do you have to copy out of your design software into keynote or powerpoint? I accomplished it, I just didn't know why the step was necessary.
To create the interior pdf file.

I'm not sure what you've done either!
Instead of copying everything to Keynote, couldn’t you just make 120 artboards (create another AI file, then copy and paste the original artboard)then save as a pdf?
Why do you have to put it in PowerPoint or keynote to save it as a PDF why can't you just save it as a PDF directly from illustrator?
You don't. I just find the rows and columns of artboards you have to create in Illustartor a pain to work with. I find this way works faster and more likely to be error free.
Why is it 9.25 and not 9.125?? Edit: Sorry never mind, didn't realise there was no bleed on left hand side of the pages.
can you please explain the point of the rectangular box around the edge?
It keeps everything aligned and in proportion when copying and pasting to keynote or PowerPoint.
@@paulmarles Thanks 👍
how i go to custom size in PowerPoint
Go to design tab. There you will find where to input page size.
