You can download the cover template from KDP, then right click on the jpg image and choose "Open In" then your software progam. It will open in the correct size and you'll be able to see the pink areas where no text is allowed.

Hi Paul! Easy way to do it. Just choose save as PDF, Hight Quality Print and Untick Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities. PDF files won't be huge

Previously the colors were fading while uploading the PDF to KDP. I used these settings and now the colors are fine and PDF files also comes under 5MB of size. Thanks!
i finally stayed up all night long last night and i made a really good cover finally for a kids activity book :) now to just figure out the interior. adobe illustrator is making me crazy! i love your tutorials!

Hello Paul, I have created a book by illustrator but that colour mode was RGB and save as pdf. So I want to know will be any problems after print the book cover?? Plz let me know 🙏🙏
All my books have been saved as sRGB so shouldn't be a problem.

Great video! :) I also do in adobe illustrator. I did everything like you do in this video but I have a question: in the launch previewer in Amazon kdp my cover is a bit blurry. The same is true when my product is listed on Amazon - and when I enlarge the cover it shows pixels. I don't know what's going on, help!

I keep on following all the cover tutorials you made[thanks] but when i upload on amazon kdp it finds no errors. Then i get an email saying tje cover is not right 🤔
Can I do a A3 size KDP book (10 x 15 in) if not, who can I use to do the job?
No, that is too large. You would have to look at the other self publishing platforms like Lulu and Ingram Spark to see if they do that size.

i am having such a hard time with covers. i make them along with you. but then when i try to use them they dont fit. i am so confused. i have been cramming my brain for a week. i HAVE published but they are so ugly. i am getting better but not at designing my own which is what i really want.
It does take time to learn about good design.
High-quality print it exports image in your artwork with high-resolution more than other export options

@@darenhaha here we need to consider both print media and digital screens. So it's better to use the "High Quality Print" format so it would look good on screens

Thank you paul, I enjoyed the video even though i'm very good at adobe illustrator, i just wanted to see your process in designing, paul i have a question what do you use as print color mode CMYK or RGB..??? I know that CMYK for print stuff and RGB for WEB, Electronic devices stuff ..etc. so it is clear that we should use CMYK mode but my confusion comes with Merch by amazon they recommend to use RGB mode with shirts...I hope find the good answer...Thank you in advance doctor
I use RGB.
What online money transfer service do you recommend for kdp? Pay pal, transferwise or Payoneer?
I’m not sure they accept those. Find out what they accept first. I do direct bank transfer. I don’t have any experience with the others.

Hi Paul (or anyone), I've followed this to the letter. My graphic and text are not showing up in KDP preview. They are showing up in the PDF. I thought at first I still had the rectangle showing over the graphic to center it, but I removed it. The template is also hidden. HELP PLEASE!!!
