Sorry, meant to post that here: How can you select own copyright? Not sure ai generation with canva constitutes enough alteration for ownership? I lobbed in a question to them also, but people are being blocked in spite of Canva being usable (elements can be combined with others for a final design, but trying to find out about Magic Media. You definitely clearly disclosed, which is in the agreement, just not clear on the copyright piece if only using the generated images solo.) Thanks so much for the amazing channel!

As many of us are with no budget.. the strugglers only.
So was this a good book? Even with the grey shading? Is this something we should publish and expect to make money on? or is there still a lot more work to be done on the images to get the book up to par to make good money?
@@ZJones760you should spend more time than I did in video to regenerate images until it’s decent as a coloring page. AI is not perfect but it’s getting better rapidly, and even if these only makes $5-10 a month it serves as a confidence booster to people that they can build this as a business

So you do not have the same bear inside the book ? What is the customer bought the book because they want to color the design that is on the book?
You want to also select “flatten pdf”when you’re downloading from canva
If I was buying that book I would expect to see that image inside the book. How do you change that cover into a coloring page?
This is what I was thinking. I know you can do stuff like color an actual image in other software (maybe Photopea?), but I don't think you can in Canva.

I accidentally came across this video a week ago. I had the best time loosing myself creating some books and publishing them. Even if I make 0 sales I had a wonderful time learning something new. But my next step is completeting the third one and then finding how to market. Your video is really easy to follow, thorough and you provide awesome links. I think I needed this for some new creative outlets. Really appreciative of your time in providing this content 🙏
Ps. Can I suggest that the ages should be left blank if not for younger ages because Amazon does not show the correct range of 13 year to 18+ (as per video Example). It shows 13-18 years so could be misleading that not 18+. The communuity comments suggest elaving it blank and witing ni the description that it is for young adults or adults.

However, I am wondering how you really created the other pictures after the one you showed us (through Canva), because they are totally different and at a much higher, more elaborate level that I don't think Canva is able to create. Thank you for the video!!!. I really hadn't thought about coloring books, so now my interest is piqued! Getting the prompts to do what you want, is of course the adventure! Turns out Canva also has a coloring book app. I had just a few credits for that. Even tho the image was OK, yet-- I still had to check the images, especially when I noticed one had three legs....and I didn't ask for three legs.🤣

How the hell does one get small amounts of margin, specifically 0.375?! I literally can NOT get that specific number with a mouse and sure can't find a way to manually enter the values. Frustrating!

Cover
Resize the background or image on your cover so that it extends 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. All covers must be sized for bleed, which means you need to add an extra 0.125" (3.2 mm) along the top, bottom, and sides of your cover file. Once you have increased the size of your cover, extend any images or backgrounds that you want to reach all the way to the edge of the page 0.125” (3.2 mm) beyond the trim line. This prevents manufacturing issues when the cover is trimmed to size. Learn more about bleed .

May I ask some questions? 1) Do we have right to commercialize images generated by Canva AI (as far as I know Canva says in guidelines we cannot use the elements without rendering them unique, does this apply also the AI-generated images)? 2) To sell the same low content book in different marketplaces, does it need to be uploaded separately to each marketplace? Thanks a lot in advance!
Using Canva elements may infringe on copyrights because even if someone was to have a PRO subscription, you dont 'OWN' the inages. KDP clearly states that we need to own the images.

I have an idea for a series of books, currently written it in basic text format, Not ChatGPT generated, in some cases there is no more than 5 to 8 lines of text per page, which is wasting a A4 page, should I look at "padding the text out" with images or graphics or look to add more text and also add in the images ?
Each book will have no more than 15 pages (10 pages of the story) and there will be 10 books in the series. They are aimed at 7 to 11-year-olds children market. I was keeping it short, due to the attention span of some children lol
Does the book page amount affect the cost of the book or how much Amazon will charge ?

It's almost impossible to hit the 0,375 spot. It's too sensitive. Is it possible to write the digits manually on the computer or how did you do it in order to hit the "sweetspot"? The closest I get is 0,368 from the left and 0,373 from the top.
I figured out how to adjust exactly the size, but I didn't get the part from 4:07 to 4:14. I tried to drag the little square to the right, as shown, but new margins on the right and at the bottom didn,t appear.. I only have the margins at the left and at the top no matter how I drag the square

I would have every picture. 4 pictures maybe 2 or book or 1 in each book. A fantastic place for AI that really makes things the way you describe is ideogram. 20 prompts a day. Very simple looking but incredible results. Also, you can make amazing pictures in color simply convert to SVG. You can find some that convert to SVG like I have (I can't remember now what it is) but it converts into black and white. Another site keeps it in color. But you take most color pictures and convert to black and white curves or vector and make sure all lines are selected and made true black.
I love prompts using mandalas, paisleys, fractals and paisleys as types of objects.
Of course you can login to most with Google or Apple and then again with Facebook etc. So multiple accounts equals extra prompts.
The good thing about creating some coloring pages from already colored pictures is that you can use those in your book cover design. And you can take the black and white part and clip it and place it over the color to give the look of partial colored page. You don't have to digitally color plain pictures. But I'm sure ai can color for you.

Would of been nice to hear about NOT using Elements, or how-to use Elements. I believe I just wasted a full day putting 50 Element images in my colouring book. I had to get a Pro version of Canva, because the images where pretty bad with the AI, and before I knew it, I was pretty much done with my 50 generated images. Unless you have a video with certain phrase or keywords for creating an image, because some images the AI created were atrocious. Some didn't have eyes and such things. What I also did notice with Element images on Canva, is they like to make things a little difficult creating layers, so as you can create something unique, and not just a single image. Little frustrated, and wasted my time today.
Amazon kdp will block this book with the same shit reason "bool might be cause disappointing customer experience". My 10 coloring books with different niches are blocked with this reason and All books I created with magic media in Canva
You should have chosen standard color interior with white paper vs black and white interior with white pages because then it would have been eligible for expanded distribution.
Please, tell me more about it.
@@alexandreribeiro9048 Well, the trade off is that your printing costs are much higher. They don't allow coloring books for expanded distribution anymore anyways, so it is a moot point.
Thank you Sean for such a great video. I am now trying to do this in Canva and I noticed that the rest of the images are very different from the 'deer' used in the demonstration. Did you use the same prompt for that? And if not what prompt did you use for the rest of the 49 incredible patterns. I can not generate with whatever prompt I am using what you have done for the others. I manage the deer but not the rest in that more intricate style. I am using Canva Pro btw.
Same for me! I am using Pro and it generates really odd imagines, not symmetrical .. lots of shading .. weird proportions. No sharp lines, even though I key word all of that. Did you use some other AI?

Hi there, thanks a lot for your great videos! I have a general question about KDP publishing. I have created a book on Canva and can use the graphics from there commercially with the pro account. So I have publishing rights etc., but NO copyright, thats how they write in their licence. In the publishing process at KDP, also how you show it, there is a checkbox to click on " I own copyright and publishing rights." On request at Canva they have no problem with this. When inquiring at AmazonKDP always comes only "We cannot make a statement about this. We have to check that." How this works is not specified. Do I just upload everything, put it online and simply click on the checkbox and Amazon then decides afterwards whether it's ok? You just clicked on it, I see...but is this legal...did you ask amazon?

The only thing is.. when publishing paperback on KDP we can only upload the front and back cover of our design, not the interior part which I believe limits us to compete with our competitors.. do you have any recommendations based on this?
I don't find monoline style. It seems that in the video, a pro account is not being used, but I don't understand why that style isn't showing up for me.
Hi, I did the same with magic media but my images are not so detailed, i mean it usually generates like kids drawing in a really basic way, even i upgraded the app still, i am using wrong descriptions to generate such detailed images or ??? Can you please guide me about my mistakes
