I want to make my own cabinet, but I'm LOST on buttons. I'm used to the old arcade buttons... concave and no clicky sound. I have NO idea what brands or whoever makes those still. Bonus points if someone's making those in LED. Any ideas?

They already have a lot of those already, some pricier than others. For the price you pay you can just buy an arcade machine that has everything in it(Jamma standard of course) and just swap the board or modify it as you want.

One of the easiest and most cost effective arcade1up cabinets to do would be a red SNK NEO GEO MVS cabinet. You dont have to do just one either. They could release collection cabinets, ie you could do a metal slug cabinet, kof cabinet, fatal fury cabinet, samurai shodown (spirits) cabinet, aero fighters cabinet, etc. If you really want to grab the SNK fan's attention, create one called "SNK ARCADE CLASSICS VOL 2," and put about 20 legendary mvs games on there

    • @NewGabeOrder

Well, that's the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

    • @stevenkwun2405
      @stevenkwun2405 6 лет назад

The 40th anniversary collection is not an arcade cabinet AND its not the newer games like samurai shodown. The 40th anniversary is more of the older classics ie ikari warriors, POW, etc.

    • @Henners

I was able to pick one of these up at Walmart today (12-3-19) for one of my 9 year old son’s Christmas gifts, for only $199.00. This reassures me that he’s going to love it. Hi, I bought the arcade 1 up asteroids version on eBay for $137.00 with $32.00 shipping for a total of $169.00 brand new. I really like my game but took me about 2 1/2 hours to put together and had a lot of problems with the brackets that hold the screen on. I’m very happy with the game although was hard for me to put mine together because I’m in a wheelchair and I did it by myself but was still doable. Mine needs to be a little bit higher but not put on the riser system more like a couple of 2x6’s but very happy with the game, it plays excellent just like the one did in late 70’s early 80’s

I would seriously consider purchasing one of these if they were 18-24 inches taller. I have a refurbished 6ft ms pac-man machine with a MAME board in it. A 4ft cabinet with the control panel 2ft from the ground would look ridiculous next to it. If you're gonna try to recreate the arcade experience... machines have to be standard size. Make 6ft cabinets & charge another $50. You'll sell many more of these.

How do you fix the glaring audio issues when playing “Super Street Fighter 2 - The New Challengers” and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo???

Personally, I’ve built two bartops(plus one in progress) using raspberry pis. I still bought the SF2 cab, and I think it’s great! I’ve got three young boys, and this is awesome for them. I still dig playing it myself as well. I’m excited to see what Arcade1up comes out with next.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing. Looking forward to future modding videos. I enjoy my centipede cab a lot. I haven’t gotten into tempest much yet because the dial sucks. But I ordered a SpinTrak spinner which I’m hoping will easily drop in. Tempest was the entire reason I bought these. As for height, I had two risers built today with a 14.25” lift and that puts them right in line with my converted Tempest->Snow Bros. cab which is right on with my MVS on the other side of the room.
I agree these aren’t as high quality as OG hardware and there are definitely issues, but I’m happy with my two (I’ll enjoy the Asteroids cabinet a LOT more if the SpinTrak spinner works out). I’ll likely buy more as they put out more titles I like. Being able to get them from GameStop (where I can accumulate tons of trade credit) will certainly help.
All in all I think $300 is fair for these. Greatest deal ever? No. Highest quality? No. Acceptable quality (for the most part) and FUN? Yup.

How study is it? It looked like it wobbled when you put your hand on it. This might be good for kids, but drunk adults might break this. Thoughts?

You can hold d/b when charging special moves like Blanka's and Bison's instead of moving back towards the edge of the stage.

Yeah the buttons are a personal preference. I bought some buttons for my Dramcast arcade sticks and on one I went with Sanwa the other went with Samitsu. I didn't care for the toy like feeling of the Sanwa button but the Samitsu was perfect. It's all different strokes for different folks.

Hmm I'm torn. It's quite expensive. But on the other hand my son is 2 years old and needs to start his world warrior training soon...

I can't wait until you load the videos with Pandoras Box and Raspberry Pi. I think when/if I get bored with Street Figher I will load one of those two.

Thank you for making these videos. I was gonna hold off on buying my own until I knew I could stick a Pandoras Box. But it looks like it's time to buy.. or wait until they go on clearance, or everything is selling them at their garage sales next summer

Thanks! The size is probably a deal breaker for me. Even if its modable internally, the size will limit use. Ill go with the rec room masters one.

I was trying to get a sense of scale until the kids were playing, heh smaller by a fair bit than I was guessing. My 5yo son would love this thing. The control panel needs to be wider than the machine like you say. I like the 4:3 screen.
