Sometimes all you need is a little bit of patience and common sense, right side indicator not working fault finding and fixed with a big fat $0 cost... i hope you all enjoy this video and find helpful any question down bellow cheers .

Update: Sunday evening, and the job took me about 45 minutes this morning, the worst parts being removing the steering column shrouds (please Toyota, use screws!). This is an excellent video... thank you so much. I would have paid almost £200 for my local garage to do this (they would not have cleaned the contacts, just bought a new assembly!).
my local toyota garage quoted me 630!!!! will be trying this asap
45 minutes! That's going some! I've done this job three times I think now on my old man's car. The time to next failure seems to be getting shorter each time (18 months, 12 months, 6 months approx). I'm going to replace the item with a new one this time rather than cleaning the contacts as I'm not up for doing it twice or more a year!

Hi have just done the same operation like u have the light indicators are back on but the rear light is workimg just when you press the break pedal...
I want to know when you have had gearbox & clutch changed, after 4 days when you get car back from the garage why does the battery cut of, it was snowing and battery cut off then after 35 minutes I tried again and started car put key in started ignition it started , I called my friend he said the car hasn't been drove for 5 days that's why it cut off but I drove car for 3 hours before it cut off. I just parked it and came back after 10 minutes, it wouldn't start
Same issue here. Very helpful. Only issue is how to remove the cover of the steer. That is going too fast in the video. Anyone any idea or other video?
I have same problem but does the same with hazard switch on no right flashing green arrow but the indicators flash
Hi there, my Toyota Auris 2015 diesel. First I had one of my indicator problem, but I tried replace fuses after that other indicator and my hazard warning lights off. I cannot find the exact fuse location for my indicators and hazard warning please any idea how to fix that problem many thanks!
Do u have to disconnect battery to avoid airbag going off .?

Hello i have the same issue but the outside lights is working and the clicking is working the light in inner display only don’t work on right side only do you know how to fix as i haf MOT ? Same car same model

Hi, great video really helped. I have the exact same issue. Followed your video and had all the gunk on the the contacts but refitted and still the same issue. Any suggestions? Would to go for another look at the stalk or replace it? Hazard work fine same as your video and works on a slight right turn just not full press
This is the flasher relay behind the speedometer or there is another one in fuse box?
I wanted to change it with led flasher relay i found on the Internet ...
That’s right is the only flasher relay, behind the cluster ... very easy to get to it, just pull the surrounding trim then you have 4 Philips screws holding the cluster... good luck 👍

Im thinking about changing all indicator bulbs to LED and i found two led flasher relay for Toyota cars one the difference between them is that the one can be adjusted in how fast or slow will flash...using resistors is boring.

Cars Exposed My 6speed gearbox was damaged and the guys who fixed it suggested me to replace the clutch as well but i kept it as it was.
Will you remove it to replace the clutch?
Auris uses Aisin clutch.
Actually the gearbox is knackered, I believe the output shaft bearing needs to be replaced, seems to be a common problem with this Auris, anyway as I’m there already I’ll probably replace the clutch aswell ...
Thankyou for the video I have the same issue just one thing , after I've done this cleaning etc can I try the stalk without putting steering wheel back on ?

Hey Igor, do you know what part # the entire indicator and wiper stalk is?
Unfortunately I don't know mate, but what i normally do if i need parts number i call the main dealer parts department and they are quite happy to give. cheers

hakim-djz hi sorry for delay ... start disconnecting the battery terminals, make sure the steering wheel is nice and straight, plastic trim behind the steering wheel doesn’t have any fixings it’s held by plastic tabs to removed just pry it, next air bag there are 2 torx screw on the back of the steering wheel, next steering wheel nut I think it’s a 19mm if can Remember correctly, next clock spring which is held in place by plastic tabs again no fixings, then finally indicator stalk it’s held by a clamp then pry it off, quite few electric connectors to disconnect try to take a picture of them ... good luck I hope it helps let me know how it goes cheers

@CarsExposed what do you mean by "pry" i think this instructions would be nice, if pin it the top, and modify little just to make it more clearer !

Mani unfortunately I never worked on a Toyota Auris hybrid .
Make sure you always disconnect the battery before removing airbag.

Why does a 2013 part time 4WD toyota Auris inficate 4WD all the time even when 4WD is not selected? Besides the economy indicator doesnt come on all through.
Is it easy to remove steering wheel.can it be done without removing steering wheel
The steering wheel is very easy to remove, i would highly recommend to remove the stalk to do this job Cheers 👍👍👍

Have you got any idea on how to remove the two bolts for the rear license plate?
Both bolts rusted and don't move.
They are allen and i tried with vise grips ,hammer or even tried to drill them but doesn't seem to do anything.
If i look behind them i only see the two bases that the bolts are rusted in.
Now i cannot mount the new license plate and i removed the old one by destroying it.
I’m going to look on mine one tomorrow and let you know the best way of doing it .... are you in Uk?

I think the only solution now is using a frame so i can hide the allen heads and mounting this license plate frame with selftaping screws . Cause i feel like i will never be using the original bolt holes again...

Cool , here we have a double sided tape Designed for number plates and it works really well, but you would have to cut the old bolts with a grinder or something similar, I’ll look tomorrow and let you know 👍
Cars Exposed Im afraid that if i try to cut the bolt's head i will damage the paint removing even the primer and causing rust...that's why i bought a license plate frame so i would hide the bolts.
Right now i have trimmed the frame plastic (where it has hole for different screws or bolts) so it hangs from the old bolt heads and i have also use a double sided tape to keep it in place but i don't think it will stay there forever.
hi mate, just had a look in my Auris and unfortunately the system that we have here in UK is different, mine one is fixed with 2 plastic screws and nut ... I,m sending you a ebay link to show you what it looks like ... ebay.to/2QGVeX0, perhaps you could remove the boot lid panel and try to remove the rusted out bolts from behind, then replace with some plastic fixings . I hope it helps 👍
