I am here bcs of your Cave Tile Tutorial and I will totally add some of there to the Cavetiles which are as awesome as you told in you video. thanks a lot man for boosting our tables with low budged stuff
One of the better ideas i ever saw in this. If you want it to be a massive centerpiece with a lot of hard to reach spots for lights then it would be good wiring. But for an evening play , you can simply put them on and have not too much work on it. Love it
Thank you so much for sharing this. Fully understanding that I am late to the game, I cannot wait to put these in some of my buildings. I would suggest that you hang onto the resistors. I have seen videos that explain how to use them in series with multiple diode and run them off AAA batteries for larger buildings. Again, AMAZING work and thanks for sharing.
I don't mind doing a bit of hobby soldering, but it's so tedious and needs space, and then add a battery holder for even more space. This was mind-blowingly awesome, convenient and space saving. Just did a test with a spare LED I had and it is a bit harder when the LED legs are a bit shorter, but seeing that I made it work on first try even then I decided to order some flickering lights right away. Can't wait to add this to some future builds. Thanks for the inspiration and for being awesome.
There are some nice torch tutorials out there, but I think yours is the best. Going to go modify a few of my buildings after seeing this. =) Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Im building a tavern at the moment and have searched for an easy way to implement a glowing fireplace. Problem solved👍 ..Beard on and Craft!🍺
God, this is so EASY. I'm so intimidated by anything involving wiring or batteries or something like that. But this is approachable even for someone like me.
Really cool idea. I'll be doing this soon. The flames really looked great! Just be careful that little children do not find the batteries laying around. The are super dangerous when swallowed. The will seriously hurt your digestive tract from the acids in them.
Alright, I took the plunge and bought the diodes, etc.! Since I am working on a graveyard, I think my crypt and possibly the stone posts of the fence are going to have some brazers to hold torches :P And as an added bonus, I could turn off the ceiling light and have the graveyard scene looking all spooky :P
I've tried several approaches suggested by other channels and I'm getting ready to do some for a cemetery build. I love your approach! Thanks so much for the video, it's an elegant implementation. Have you ever done tall floor stand torches?
Thank you Table Top That :) I have thought about the Tall floor stand torches, and some other ideas.... they are on my build list. Another cool version coming out real soon...
Would magnets in the wall stick to the metal washer or are both magnets required? Awesome job! I will explore using CR2032 battery holders too, in addition to this method.
A few pieces of advice for anyone following this. First, you can use diodes from cheapo dollar store fake candles, just pry them open and it'll come out easy. You can also extend the distance between battery and diode by twisting some speaker wire of any length (or any conductive wire, doesnt matter) to each of the diode wires. If you don't have the shrinking plastic, I don't see any reason why you couldn't just use electrical tape!
Thanks. Yes it’s actually the second level to my tavern. I have a 2 part series on the build. Here is part one: ruclips.net/video/aITGQonlb5k/видео.html
Do you have any idea (or can point me in the direction of) using this idea but getting it through wood. I have a Halloween box I'm making, and I would like to light it up. Thing is, the lighting scares me! LOL
Hi Kim, check out my LED wiring video. It really is SUPER simple. You'll be able to drill a small hole in the wood and add the LEDs wherever you'd like!
Oh geez. And here I am overcomplicating mine by using a non-flickering diode in circuit with a bulb from a flickering tea light candle (everything in a circuit with a flickering bulb will be turned into a flickering bulb).. It honestly never occurred to me to just buy some diodes that were already set up to flicker..
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT For flickering, flashing RGB, and blinking LEDs you do not need a resistor unless than voltage (usually) is over 5 Volts. That is because there is a certain limiting due to an internal IC chip which causes the light effect and limits current.
Great observation, with these you really don’t need to. You start adding more than one it’s another story. Every now and then you get a dud LED though.
Check out my LED wiring video. In there you'll see a Conwy Board. It will allow you to adjust the brightness of your LEDs !!! Here's a link: ruclips.net/video/xnq25QXxd6k/видео.html
AMOE1987 The diode gives off a flickering effect. It’s made to imitate a real flame. Look closely at the flame and you’ll see it flicker. With the lights dim my whole room flickers with these torches lit!
I wonder if you could use flickering Christmas bulbs? They make them in all colors now, and a 100+ per strand for just a few bucks. Must test this idea.
So I use multi colored diodes in my chapel build video. You could use Christmas lights possibly, but the cost of the packs of diodes really aren't too expensive. Check out the Amazon link in the description of my chapel video here :) ruclips.net/video/8patm7fq3qw/видео.html
Hey there, these particular diodes flicker once powered on their own :) Watch the video to the end you'll see them flicker in the background while I'm talking. Super Easy LED Torches !
It's a way of highlighting something that has a been base coated already. As an example if you are going to highlight a plank of wood, you might base coat it in dark brown, then put some light brown on a brush, wipe most of the paint off on a paper towel, then lightly brush the highest areas across the grain.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT thanks this is all very new to me since I just got recommended one of your videos by RUclips. Annnnd today I'm cutting up a boogie board to create my first battle map. I hope the proper foam is easier to work with than a butter knife over a flame and some styrofoam.

Note that this may not work with all flickering LEDs. The ones listed have a low Vf of just 2V....."Long Lead DC 2V Light Emitting Diode"
Also note, I'm not messing with resistors. This method the LED's last over 100 hours each. A cheap way to add light to our builds !
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT For flickering, flashing RGB, and blinking LEDs you do not need a resistor unless than voltage (usually) is over 5 Volts. That is because there is a certain limiting due to an internal IC chip which causes the light effect and limits current.
