Love your channel......I am new at this and in my 70’s......I need something to keep me busy and love at the same time. I made a Christmas Village and trees this past year...turned out great.....I am working on a haunted castle. Thanks for all your tips.
Love all your videos. And also that you even expand on simple projects, as well as your full builds. I think these smaller items are a perfect starting point for beginners to tune in their craft. Great tips. Kudos on your channel. Love all your table top builds.
Thank you Perry. I agree it’s a great starter video for sure. No reason to not make a craft exciting and interesting to look at just because it’s small. Now the video coming out this week... that’s a different story :).
Top notch, John. You took the basic column and elevated it to a higher level. They look very realistic next to the mini in your photo shoot. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see what your epic build is going to be. Stay frosty, --Bo
Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy....another epic build on the way.......and it’s better than the castle? Dude! I’m guessing it’s a gladiatorial arena?? All your builds look so epic and hard to build till you watch your vids! Your explanations of how you do things makes things sooooo much easier and really fun to watch. Thank you for sharing these with us!
Andy Gorman Thanks for the feedback on the videos Andy. I’m glad they are easy to follow. I hope you and everyone else are pumped for this build..... you won’t be disappointed 🤙
We have been chatting a bit about my graveyard themed builds, and I mentioned I was going to try the LED torch trick. Well, i got all my stuff in, and to test out everything, I made a single corner pillar for the graveyard fence with a torch. Wow, was it easy - probably 30 minutes worth of work to do the entire pillar torch and all...it took longer to wait for paints to dry than to assemble. Now, it is time to finish up the fence while I wait for the stuff to come in to do the crypt...I am going to try your stained glass window technique next :P
Love your videos. You should make the swinging blade of death. With table you get tied down to and the blade swing back and forth, lower and lower, guillotine and dead body wagon. Bring out your dead ! Looking forward to every new video. Down to earth canadian!!!!
Just stumbled across your channel, always wanted more LEDs on my table but intimidated by the electrical aspects. Tea lights are great and all but theres only so much you can do with them. Time to binge your vids for fresh inspo!
Just discovered your channel. Ive been looking for some more terrain channels and im really glad i found yours, definitely going to go back and watch all your videos.
I would suggest that you add 4 cut down toothpicks to the top and the corresponding places in the bottom part. This will keep them from accidentally being knocked apart during play.
Those pillars look sharp my man, and the LED torches have become standard fare in my builds now. Good video this week but I’m stoked to see the build that may rival the castle, cause that castle is incredible. Keep up the good work my friend!
Really great build! Very easy but useful! I would just add some dark pigment on the top part of the pillar, to replicate smoked stone from the lit torch :)
Thank you petran. I thought of that, but these are designed to be used without the torches too.... I thought it might look a bit off without the torch in place. Great idea though.
One of these days I have to get over the intimidation I feel from trying to do that electrical...because those torches look awesome! Edit: Made it to the end of the video...you have my interest sir!
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT I will be getting to it sooner than later - 2 projects ahead of it. Making a modular graveyard (still not sure how I am going to go about the wrought iron fence.), and Mad-Max'ing the heck out of a hot wheels semi I got - making use of 5 or new techniques I haven't tried yet on this project...which makes me feel silly for putting off the LED work :P
Thank you for another great toturial! I also appreciate you adding details concerning dimensions and used paints in the background for the last few videos, but personally i find them hard to read sometime. Might be even better to include the information on small info-boxes at the top or bottom of the screen in post :)
Dude. Wow. Thank you for uploading a build that's easy enough for us mortals! Your channel is inspirational man, I'm getting into crafting and seeing the crazy stuff like the Colosseum and the Castle is a great motivation to keep going. I happily subscribed and look forward to seeing more epic builds as your channel grows. You're legit. Do you have any plans for more easy builds that people with just an exacto knife and some foam can complete? Keep doing what you're doing!!
Definitely. There is so much you can do with this idea for sure! Post a finished build picture if you’d like on my fan art album on my Facebook page. I’d love to see you’re take on it!
I discovered it's cheaper to use pennies instead of washers. 4 pennies = 10g. One steel washer costs 7 cents, and you need at least two of them for enough weight.
Cant really tell from the video just how strong the magnetic bond is between the top and bottom. Is it enough to pick up the whole pillar just from the top? Does it prevent the pillar from falling in half if it gets bumped by player fingers? If not, have you considered installing the battery vertically instead of horizontally? that way it could function somewhat like a tongue in groove effect and you would even maybe be able to put the magnets on either side of the battery, coming in contact for a stronger bond, instead of passing through the battery?
That's not a bad idea. It holds together fine during play. I wouldn't "whip" them around because yes, they can come apart, but the magnets are pretty strong! The issue I might see doing it your way is that the leads to the diode might get pushed out of place if the battery is vertical. The way I have it the magnets on top and bottom sandwich them to the battery.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT Could you achieve the same effect by bending the leads to the left and right of the vertical battery and just having the battery slot as tight as the battery? same effect just sideways?
Ideally, you can 100% recycle all your foam scraps into stone works, by dropping them into a container with some jagged rocks and shake it to texture the foam.
I talk about it at the end of this video. It’s a sculpting tool I made out of a pencil, green stuff, and sand. It’s invaluable! Here’s a link to the video: ruclips.net/video/mJS5JjTP1P4/видео.html

That’s great Tine, a little trip down memory lane :)
Nice and simple yet very cool addition to a table
Thank you!
Ordered the lights and built my first 5 pillars with torches...AMAZING tutorial! It adds so much magic to the board. Thank you!!

As always, you never fail to impress. Hope to, one day, be as high caliber crafter, as you sir!
Thank you Benjamin :).
Well done. Great small build and super useful.
Thank you Christopher 👍
Another great video. Nothing new in indivudual thigs. But the result looks just so much better than any other of the pillars you see around.
:) Thanks.
Okay... These pillars are WAY better than mine! Great video.

@@TabletopWitchCRAFT sounds like a winner =)
Minimalist. Neat!
Exactly. You can even take the top half off and place it on other structures with or without magnets. Or use them as smaller scatter terrain.
@@TabletopWitchCRAFT You could make an entrance that is 2 pillar tops joined together with an archway as another modular element for this project.
@@ScratchBashing Great idea!

Love the video! Would it be possible to attach several lights to one battery so you could have a torch on each side of the pillar?
Definitely. Check out my easy LED wiring video where I do just that!
whats the little clay texture tool you use to texture foam with called?
I explain it in my texture rolling pin video. Something I made.

Its a texture tool that I made. I talk about it at the end of this video: ruclips.net/video/mJS5JjTP1P4/видео.html

Is it possible to add more than one torch? I'm worried I might hurt the leds or the battery if they touch.
Yes you can add more than one LED depending on the color. Each color requires slightly different voltages. Experiment…. You won’t hurt anything.
Awesome. Just curious are you from the Boston area (based on your accent)?
Thanks. Originally Staten Island, but I’m in Maine now…. So close.
Waiting for the rivaling, if not surpassing build🤓
(Yes, I made it through the end)

I apologize. This is an embarrassing first. I posted the wrong size magnet. It has been updated. Any way you can contact me via FB or Instagram?

Hey man 😊 Cool video, but the volume on your “intro” is suuuper loud compared to the rest of your video, maybe consider turning that down 😊
Thanks, I love feedback like this. I’ll keep an eye on it for next time.

hanging a torch 1 mt from a wooden roof is not a good idea, unless you want to burn your home . i hate this medieval misconception
