    Man these look cool. My OCD would fix those gaps between pieces cause it would drive me nutz. I would make corner walls also to finish those corners.
    I think magnets glued into you sides would also nicely keep your pieces together.

    Great video. Awesome looking result!
    When cutting the blocks with the hot wire cutter, how about using the templates (the ones that you're using to mark the blocks, or maybe thicker ones from cardboard) and attach one on each side of the block, so it guides your wire. Theoretically you could push the cutter as deep as you want, because it would never go outside the boundaries of the templates.

    • @TabletopWitchCRAFT
      @TabletopWitchCRAFT  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, that's a great idea. That span is really pushing it tho for the size of the hot wire knife. But cutting foam that way is a great idea.

    Nice work. I think I would have gone with a brick texture i think it would give more options for colour modulation and make the slime and grime a bit more visible but that's just a matter of taste/opinion. Your version is excellent a lot of work and no doubt you got a lot of satisfaction from creating this from scratch. I do have a small point to make though, in the UK a bell end is a slang term for part of a male appendage and is often used to describe someone in a derogatry manner. I'm not complaining it just made my inner child snigger. Keep up the good work a most entertaining and informative video.

    Tip for anyone using large sheets of DAS clay and a texture roller, dont lube with water, use baby powder ...lots and lots of it. It sticks way less and you can be really firm with it. I did an 18 inch disc recently with a 12" cobblestone roller from greenstuff and had no sticking at all. Tons of talc is the answer.

    Late watching this video so this comment probably won't get answered but I'm gonna give it a shot anyway... How do you keep DAS air dry clay from cracking ??... I tried it a thousand times and every project gets tossed due to cracking. I've tried thin sheets and thick sheets both cracked. I've tried mixing PVA glue into it...It cracked. I've tried allowing it to dry before attaching it to the piece... It cracked. I've given up using it.. If I could get past the cracking problem It'd be great stuff with 1,001 uses but right now it's totally useless for me. More of a headache then what it's worth.

    • @TabletopWitchCRAFT
      @TabletopWitchCRAFT  3 года назад +1

      Hey Rick, I find that starting with a thin uniform sheet of clay is important. Then another even coat of Aleene’s Tacky glue holds it real nice. To blend two separate pieces of clay I don’t use water I use Aleene’s again. So far, no cracking. Give it another go. Good luck!

    I don't understand why you chose to use 6x16 clay instead of easy old foam board.

      Changing things up. You can definitely use foam here, but the clay adds a lot more texture options.

    Very cool but too big to store easily. Amazing detail though.

      You can just make 3-4 of them and use them as scatter terrain for the tiles. The elevated catwalk really adds a cool element to the sewer!

      I would think, if you were to forgo the LED set up in the 1st video in this series and not make the bases as deep as John, MDt has made, you can still have an amazing set of sewer tiles without taking up as much space. I had also considered using the in-wall LED option, thus requiring less base-space. The really amazing thing about the videos John and others have made is that they are a start point for your own imagination. Build! Modify! Adapt!
      PS - Yes, I've declared John a Doctor of Terrain.
